cecilia vega, abc news, new york. turning our focus overseas, u.s.-led air strikes have killed ten top isis leaders in syria and iraq over the past month. among those one man the pentagon says was directly linked to the leader of the paris attacks. a spokesman says that charaf fechlt al mouadan was actively planning attacks against the west. du pont plans to lay off 1, 00 more work 1700 more workers in the next few months in delaware. du pont will still have a major presence in delaware but with about a fourth fewer workers. the layoffs are expected to have an economic impact on delaware, where du pont was founded 213 years ago. all right. time now for your favorite part of the newscast, sports. there is still one week left in the nfl regular season. and the coaching carousel is already firing up. it got going yesterday when the eagles fired head coach chip kelly, who's been with the team for three seasons. kelly was criticized after

take a look at this surveillance video near tampa. this is 76-year-old jim lear. you see he dropped his wallet right there while grocery shopping and within seconds you see this guy come up and pick up the wallet. $300 later charged on his debit card. well, later a guy named ricardo ochoa found lear's wallet in a dumpster. he returned it, and it turns out there was $700 hidden deep inside that this bad guy didn't find. so lear rewarded ochoa with $100. and police are still looking for this dude in the white hat.

a terrifying bus accident in new jersey as a passenger is thrown through the windshield and onto the street. the private tour bus was heading to new york from baltimore. the bus driver says the passenger was standing when he stopped at a traffic light. the passenger is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. about 55 people were on the bus. >> absolutely terrifying indeed. in the meantime the fbi is investigating the fatal crash of a single-engine plane into an anchorage office building. the pilot, doug demarest, was the only occupant of the cessna. he was a member of the civil air patrol. but this flight was not sanctioned by the organization. investigators in alaska say demarest's wife worked on the sixth floor of that building. she was not in the office when the plane crashed into the building. and the faa is investigating a potentially disastrous mishap with an alaska airlines passenger jet. >> yeah, the pilot trying to land at seattle's airport on

but it was actually a taxiway. abc's kayna whitworth has the story. >> reporter: an investigation into how an alaska airlines flight could have landed on an active taxiway instead of a runway. the 737 aircraft was flying from chicago to seattle earlier this month when it was cleared for landing and directed to a runway. >> alaska 27, maintain 5,000 to establish localizer. cleared now to approach. >> reporter: but that's not what happened. the plane cleared to land on a runway on sea-tac instead landing there. that's not a runway. it's a taxiway. luckily nobody was injured during the landing. >> the danger here is not landing on a long strip of concrete. the danger is actually that somebody else might be on that taxiway. >> reporter: aviation analyst for abc news john nance was an alaska airlines pilot for 20 years and has landed at sea-tac international airport hundreds of times. >> pilots for major airlines like alaska are certainly trained to recognize runway markings and taxiway markings. >> reporter: you can see those

near st. louis already flooded. >> the water's come up really fast. >> reporter: in union, missouri the mcdonald's surrounded by water. that gas station swallowed up by the river. more than 500 roads closed across the state. the coast guard even closing parts of the mississippi river. the flooding in this region already claiming at least 18 lives. missouri's governor actiting the national guard and warning citizens it's far from over. >> you've got at least nine feet of vertical water or more coming, so be safe out there. >> reporter: residents here along the bourbeuse river have evacuated but the water is beginning to recede slowly. as for the bigger rivers, missouri, mississippi, they have yet to crest. rob marciano, abc news, union, there are also flooding problems in central and southern illinois. two people drowned when they tried to cross a flooded area in their minivan. the car still hasn't been found. the three days of heavy rain have also damaged more than two dozen homes southeast of

>> reporter: people who love craig strickland and his music face a heartbreaking tune. strickland, the singer for country band backroad anthem, is missing. he and his friend, chase moreland, along with strickland's dog sam were hunting ducks sunday on this oklahoma lake when their boat capsized. here in oklahoma the men faced tough conditions. that day the temperature never got above 36 degrees, and the winds were gusting at 45 miles per hour. moreland's body was found monday. just before the trip he tweeted "in case we don't comeack," he wrote he and strickland are going through winter storm goliath to kill ducks in oklahoma. hashtag into the storm. teams using sonar are searching icy waters for any sign of strickland. his wife helen tweeting "we love you craig michael. come home." strickland's friends and family clayton sandell, abc news, oklahoma city. authorities say it was a pizza order on a cell phone that mother in a mexican resort city.
