reconstructing the events that also took the life of a new hampshire man. sits at a state police barracks, held as evidence in the death of the driver 45-year-old bruce danforth. danforth was headed northbound on route 16 around seven last night when he drove into the path of a taurus sedan transporting four secret service agents. two men and two women in heavy snow. >> at some point the sable crossed over the double yellow line, and entered into the southbound lane, colliding with the taurus. tom: danforth, a father of five and grandfather of seven, was dead on scene. his passengers, 35-year-old girlfriend natasha meroski and 21-year-old friend kristina buswell, were hospitalized. the damage so bad, all the victims -including those four , agents had to be cut out of their vehicles.

tonight. >> the vehicle may have been passing another vehicle northbound. however, we' ve not been to make contact with that vehicle. tom police say danforth, who has : previous arrests for drugs and an illegal firearm, was driving on a suspended license. the agents, working a detail for the hillary clinton campaign. clinton, who held a town hall last night in berlin, gave her condolences to the victims today, saying she' s grateful every day for the secret service. >> police say danforth was arrested on december 2 on a harrowing charge. state police for -- police are asking if anyone saw that, to contact state police. lost control on i-93 south in sugar hill and crashed into a car on the northbound side. state police say the driver of a pontiac vibe lost control crossed the center median just before 1:00 this afternoon. the driver of the pontiac was pronounced dead at the scene. their name is being withheld at

the driver of the other vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries. a deadly crash on route 101 in exeter under investigation tonight. state police say 26-year-old janelle jordan of newmarket was driving east near exit 9 when she hit the guardrail went airborne and struck a second guardrail before stopping in the median. she was pronounced dead at the scene. state police are looking into a report of excessive speed and possible cell phone use. a rochester driver crashed into a brick wall this morning. rochester police say the woman was driving west on crown point road when she lost control, over correcting into the eastbound lane before crashing into the wall. the driver and her passenger both suffered minor injuries. police says weather and road conditions were factors in the crash. huge flames consumed a home in goffstown this afternoon. it started on blackbrook drive just after 3:00. the fire quickly went to three alarms. news 9 was told the fire started

quickly to the rest of the home. no one was home when it started. >> any idea on the cause of this one? >> unknown. we will be working with fire marshal' s office and should be on scene here for few more hours. tom: the chief says the lack of water allowed the flames to move unchecked and turned this into a total loss. the state fire marshal' s office is investigating a carbon monoxide incident in nashua. nashua fire says crews responded to a home on hawthorne village road this afternoon for high levels of c.o.. crews did remove one unconscious person from the third floor. they were taken to a nearby hospital and their condition is not reported tonight. let' s go on now to commitment 2016 coverage, republican presidential candidate jeb bush is doubling his new hampshire campaign staff. the campaign' s spokesperson says it is shifting staff from its miami headquarters to the granite state. adam sexton joins us live to

republican campaign. adam: it' s never a bad thing to get more campaign boots on the ground in new hampshire, but when a candidate does that they automatically raise the stakes for themselves, making it imperative they do well here. jeb bush may not have the most impressive poll numbers, but his team in the granite state is confident knowing they' re doing the kind of blocking and tackling work that tends to pay off on election day. on the republican side this primary cycle has been a tug of war between national and local. that tension summed up earlier this week with the image of republican front-runner donald trump at a rally in nashua casting aside a copy of the new hampshire union leader newspaper after its publisher criticized his candidacy. >> that' s all it' s worth. piece of garbage. adam: while team trump attempts to convert its passionate grassroots support into votes, other campaigns are looking to ambush the front-runner by organizing their way to victory on february 9. >> forty days out from the new hampshire primary we'

double our staff here in new hampshire. adam at jeb bush headquarters in : manchester, they' ll soon saddle up 20 new staffers, outpacing every other republican campaign. >> half the primary vote is going to decide this race in the last 7 days. and to be in a position to win you have to talk to them constantly. on their doorstep, in their homes, in their town halls, in their workplaces. a good ground game builds those relationships and does the follow-up necessary to help these people when they' re in position to decide. adam while the bush team will : enjoy multiplying its voter contact efforts there' s no guarantee that work will pay off. however while you can organize and lose it' s unheard of to do nothing and win. as new england college professor of political science wayne lesperance told us earlier this week. >> it all comes down to the ground game. it all comes down to your ability to get folks to go vote. adam: this investment in new hampshire for bush isn' t coming out of nowhere.

>> indigestion, i didn' t feel well, pain in my right arm. which i didn' t really associate with a heart attack. jean he made the life-altering : decision to dial 911. american medical response paramedics and manchester firefighters rushed to kevin just in time. in this ambulance his heart stopped beating. restart kevin' s heart. >> yeah, he died on the way to the hospital, but we shocked him right back into it. i was standing over him and told him that he just died and we brought him back and we' re going to take good care of him. >> the ability to know that you gave somebody a christmas and more years with their family is an inexplainable feeling. jean less than 30 minutes after : calling for help, kevin was in the hospital being treated for a coronary artery blockage. his family returned to give save pins to first responders for beating the 8% survival rate for this type of heart attack. >> i can'

tom: the man who bought the guns used in the san bernardino terror attack has been indicted by a federal grand jury. enrique marquez was indicted on conspiring in a pair of previous planned attacks and making false statements about buying the guns used. the indictment avoids the need for a hearing before a judge to determine if he should stand trial. 14 people were killed in the attack earlier this month. bill cosby is now charged in

sexual assault. the comedian is out on one million dollars bail tonight. abc's marci gonzalez is in elkins park, pennsylvania with the latest. >> in court here earlier today, bill cosby did not enter a plea. he had to surrender his passport and agree not to contact his accuser. bill cosby arrested and now out on bail. after making his first court appearance, on a felony charge of aggravated indecent assault of this woman, andrea constand. the charge coming just beofre the statute of limitations was set to expire on the accusations from nearly 12 years ago. court documents saying that at his suburban philadelphia home in 2004 cosby gave constand three blue pills. within minutes, she claimed she experienced blurred vision and difficulty speaking, according to the criminal complaint, cosby told her to lie down, and assaulted her while she remained frozen and paralyzed.

through her job at temple university, first made the accusations, prosecutors decided there wasn' t enough evidence to pursue the case. constand later settled with cosby in civil court. cosby admitting in recently unsealed depositions from that case -that he' d given qualludes to women, but insisting the pills he gave constand were benadryl, describing the encounter with her as consensual. those statements in part led prosecutors to reopen the investigation. >> reopening this case was our duty as law enforcement officers. >> constand is one ofmore than 50 women who' ve accused the 78-year-old of sexual assault, drugging or rape over several decades, but this is the first time cosby' s been criminally charged. >> i' m very happy that this day has finally come. >> cosby' s lawyers releasing a statement saying, we intend to mount a vigorous defense against

cosby is scheduled to be back here in court january 14. marci gonzalez, abc news. tom: all new year' festivities in brussels belgium have been called off due to terror concerns. the decision comes one day after people on suspicion of being involved in a plot to attack sites in brussels during new year' s festivities. belgium' s prime minister says the decision to cancel brussels' new year' by the city' s mayor. been killed in flooding in missouri. governor jay nixon toured the areas near saint louis this afternoon. nixon has declared a state of emergency, with rescues underway and mandatory evacuations for parts of the state. he says he expects the mississippi river to reach its highest level ever. the national weather service says missouri still faces major-to-historic river flooding >> until you see magnitude it'

sometimes difficult to feel the damages. plus we want to make sure that we understand the breadth of this and where the water is moving, because all of this water is headed down to another place in the state of missouri. tom: a total of 17 million people under flood warnings across the u.s.. including people in gaston county north carolina. so it' some rain coming in here tonight. josh: much of it falling in the frozen form or freezing on impact. as you can see it' s below 32 most everywhere except for western parts of the state at the slightly milder air is trying to push and from the cell to the southwest. temperatures have been rising over the last couple of hours and will continue to do so, but not before all this rain pulls on through. there' s also some sleet and snow
