and his dad is not want to see anyone else go through this. saturday afternoon, he fell looked at ragged mountain. tried to hold on to him but lost his grip. he says the lift never stopped the shutdown button. ragged mountain says the retreat of people operating the booth and ski patrol did not know what happened until his father reached the top. he says it was a horrifying experience. father: i don' t want any parent to have the situation i had and watch your child fall and not know if he is going to be ok. that is the thing that will probably traumatize me forever. mike: ragged mountain says the state inspected the lift this morning and determined there were no mechanical issues so it was cleared to open. mike cronin, wmur news 9. jean: thanks. still to come on news 9 at 6:00 -- rochester police are warning people about a police impersonator.

jean: welcome back. rochester police are warning people about a police impersonator. adam: the department says someone approached two juveniles on hanson street in a crown victoria with flashing lights shortly before 5:00 yesterday evening. the man told the kids it was illegal to carry a baseball bat and took it from them. he was last seen driving north on wakefield street. police say the man was wearing a uniform with one arm patch and a badge. anyone with information is urged to contact rochester police. a driver was arrested after a state police aircraft recorded him driving at 105 miles per hour in a 70 zone. 21-year-old paul kimble of laconia was arrested for reckless driving.

now we have mainly clear skies. a few passing clouds overhead. in claremont, still have the christmas lights up and loving it. it still looks beautiful. we do have clouds overhead in claremont. they will be thickening up overnight as the arctic cold front is swinging across the area right now and will continue overnight. here is the latest on the satellite and radar. you can make out a few white spots. these are snow showers moving through, especially in the higher elevations. mainly north of the lakes region and north. some of the more vigorous snow showers, maybe up to an inch or two of snow. that begins mainly in the higher elevations. overnight, some may make a move into central and southern new hampshire. most of us will probably be asleep when that happens. it is part of a cold front on the way. it is going to be revealing a harsh reality once it moves through and this cold air settles in.

much colder than the temperatures you see now. we are at 34 in plymouth at the moment. 37 in lebanon. 36 in laconia and concord as well as nashua. 38 in manchester. we will be wishing for those temperatures the next 24 hours. you see this cold air bottled up in northern portions of quebec and ontario? we are going to get a slice of this cold air as the arctic front moves through. it opens the floodgates and allows all the cold air to seep down into the entire northeastern part of the u.s. a real shock to the system after december had been so warm. we have a big shift in the atmosphere. the jet stream will be shifting south. the cold air will be locked in place for us through the next couple of days. i wanted to show you what the wind chills will be like tomorrow. this is what is going to communicate to you how cold it

temperatures tomorrow will reach the upper teens and 20' s. but the winds are going to be moving around a lot. with that in mind, this is how it will feel tomorrow morning when all of us are heading out to the car for the first time heading back to work and school. at the bus stop, single-digit temperatures. below zero up north. that is how it remains almost all day despite sunshine we are going to see tomorrow. overnight monday night into tuesday. tonight, scattered snow showers. tomorrow, mainly sunny. there is a chance of a few ocean effect snow showers in southeastern new hampshire with don' flurries tomorrow. full sunshine on tuesday with these cool temperatures. tonight. it will be coldest up north air is arriving first.
