only single digits north to low 20's far south. you factor the the busy winds, these are the sustained wind anywhere from 7 miles per hour in berlin to 24 in plymouth and along the coast. you factor the two together, the temperature and that steady wind, and it feels like zero or below in some cases. above. a lot of cold air back to our north and west, that means another cold one tonight, and quite a chill out there tomorrow. 'although by the afternoon it may ease up just a little bit. what about more chances by the end of the week and what about the snow chance for the weekend, we'll look at that straight ahead. josh: manchester police say they made a significant drug bust in the city that includes a significant amount of fentanyl. tens of thousands of dollars worth of the drugs were taken off the streets after an early morning raid. andy hershberger has been working the story all day and joins us live with the latest. reporter: police say this undercover investigation lasted several months, and is

opioid crisis the city and state are are facing today. manchester police say what is significant about this drug raid is the amount of fentanyl seized. 510-gram of it with a street val of $30,000 was discovered after a search warrant was executed this morning. >> based on my conversations with the drug investigators, they believe this to be a higher level operation, when in fact you have over 500-grams of fentanyl, it is one of the largest seeshers in the state. reporter: police say fentanyl is mixed with heroin and is often responsible for fate overdoses. the chief says this type of case can have a real human impact. >> i'm very pleased with this arrest, this is a significant arrest, particularly given the seized. each one of those doses of fentanyl is a potential fate overdose, and it's the fentanyl that is mostly killing our citizens today. reporter: just before six this morning members of the manchester swat team entered a

along with the fentanyl, police say they also seized cocaine, heroin, crack cocaine, as well packaging materials. three people, arroyo, gonzalez-fabian and garcia mata were taken into custody. >> i'm very proud of the officers and detectives who worked on this case. they understand it's my priority as chief to get drug dealers off the street and try to save as many lives as we can by not letting fen that fill be put out there. reporter: it's unclear when the three suspects will be in court to face charges. jean: right now the f.b.i. is investigating a series of bomb threats called in to schools up and down the eastern seaboard. authorities say most of them involved robo calls. massachusetts had more than 20 schools affected, three new hampshire schools dealt with bomb threats today including portsmouth my school.

is joining us live with the very latest on this. reporter: most of those schools you mentioned out of state. those did involve robo calls, talking about schools in delaware, pennsylvania and new jersey, as well as those over 20 schools in massachusetts. that while three schools in new hampshire dealt with their own bomb threats. farmington high school was among them. students there were evacuated at 10:00, that one prompted by a message written on the wall of a boys bathroom. but both portsmouth high and sunapee middle and high schools were struck by automated messages, called robo calls. no students were at sunapee today. but at portsmouth students were in lockdown for about an hour while police responded. >> as the call came through, we were able to determine the credibility of the call sank for us a little, but we had to do our due diligence to make sure that everything was on the up and up, which is why we had the

through here. reporter: portsmouth students continued on with their day and after school activities went on as planned. officials do expect that they will connect with the f.b.i. to see if there are any possible connections to those incidents in massachusetts and beyond. for now, live in portsmouth, jennifer crompton, wmur news 9. jean: thanks. one of the men accused in a road rage incident in raymond will keep fighting criminal charges, the other has accepted a plea deal. prosecutors say in june matthew anderson hit david bell with a flash light, they say bell fought back with a tool, an ankle griebler, both men were charged with reckless conduct. today david bell pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor, while anderson is fighting his charge. >> my understanding is mr. anderson has filed a notice of defense in this matter. but again i did offer them both misdemeanor pleas, eve 2010 the wreckless type driving.

seven years in jail. bell received a suspended sentence. josh: 2016 coverage, exactly three weeks now from the new hampshire primary and we have wranld new numbers from our latest granite state poll. tonight the democratic presidential candidates in what appeared to be a dog fight between hillary clinton and bernie sanders, might be turning into a land slide. this poll shows sanders has an enormous 27-point lead over hillary clinton, 60 to 33% support. among young people, his support gets bigger, under the age of 35, sanders has 81% support, to clinton's 17%. what about the gender gap, this was hillary clinton's strong point earlier or was supposed to be, that is now a 14-point tilt in favor of sanders when we're talking about women voters in new hampshire. here's another set of numbers that might surprise you, when it comes to favorability, hillary clinton does do very well with 65%, but that pales in comparison to bernie sanders who

rating in new hampshire of 91%. that shocks even the pollsters. have you ever seen a candidate with this type of favorability number? >> i have never seen a candidate for any office have favorability ratings this high. it's staggering. josh: all that said, it is worth pointing out that this poll says that 52% of those asked have yet to make up their mind. support. coming up at 6:00 we'll dig deeper and find out who voters think is best equipped to deal with isis, deal with the economy, and perhaps the most tell figure, who they trust the most. today. john kasich is three quarters of to new hampshire. today his stops included a tour in henniker and concord, and another town hall in hopkinton at 5:30. ted cruz also continuing his swing through the dprlt.

heather hamel joins us live with more. reporter: senator cruz is getting a taste of new hampshire during this visit, talking to venues. there's no shortage of people, barely enough room to breathe. but he seems to be right at home. >> without exaggeration, i talk about freedom 100 times every single day. reporter: what better place to visit than new hampshire's own freedom, shoulder to shoulder with voters cruz made his a warn the freedom village store. >> it is wonderful, this is the new hampshire way, can and it's what it's supposed to be all about. looking people in the eyes, answering their questions. reporter: and that he did. from freedom to wakefield, clearly comfortable in the small town setting. >> can i get you anything? anyone want some food? can i refill your coffee for you? jean: the white house is know pointing an official to deal with the water crisis in flint, michigan. this announcement comes ahead of the governor's state of the state address tonight, his speech is expected to focus on how to fix the drinking weight problem. the crisis began in 2014 when the city switched its water source to the flint river. tests later showed elevated blood levels containing lead in children. residents are now using bolted water.

of snow a possibility as we go into the night and el tomorrow morning. temperatures and the wind the big story statewide. 17 below atop mount washington, single digits, teens, low 20's elsewhere from north to south. in terms of winds, steady between 5 and 25 miles per hour. atop mount washington over hurricane force, and when you factor in the winds, this what is it feels like, three below in berlin, 61 below over 6,000 feet up. and single numbers above from concord points south. but just a little above that zero degree mark. in terms of the gusts, cranking up to 30 to 40 miles per hour, a little above that in rochester, as we advance through the day tomorrow, not as gusty as today, but still on the breezy side. some gusts over 30. then the winds are diminish a little towards evening, and hours. a weak system darts underneath us on thursday, so winds will

go into the day on thursday, and that will only reenforce the chilly air that will continue to build in right through the end of this week. in terms of storm threats, nothing over the next few days, but you'll notice back to our west there is a system here in the mississippi valley. this is the one that will dart underneath new hampshire along about sometime later on wednesday night, early thursday morning. then we get to a lot of energy and a big storm just entering the pacific northwest. this one has the energy for the east coast weekend storm. there is no question that there will be a monster storm off the east coast, although computer models in the last 24 hours are trending south in time. and if those trends do hold, it would be a miss for new hampshire, not a guarantee, and still a lot of time to track it. right now the best bet for snow would be over southern new hampshire and southern new england. single digits and lower teens tonight. tomorrow lots of sunshine, but

with that breeze out of the northwest, not as gusty as today. quiet for thursday and friday. right now i'm dragging the snow chance a little further south, so southern new hampshire into southern parts of new england, way too early to nail that track. because, as you saw, that energy for the storm is way, way out there. josh: the chill is here though. coming up next, presidential candidates weigh in on the changing culture of partisanship. jean: and president obama's immigration plan will get a major test just a few weeks

freezing up. >> we'll exercise the doors, even the trains that are parked in the yards, we'll open and close the doors to make sure they don't freeze up overnight. reporter: these are some of the new measures put in place after last winter when historic snowfall levels halted service. >> at least they're trying to do something. >> i think it's good. especially overnight. reporter: the "t" says there weren't any problems related to the cold this morning, and the new steps will be taken when ever the temperature drops below 20. >> let's hope we don't have a winter like last year. josh: the mbta says it had no problems today, so that's good news, despite the bitter cold. jean: we are learning more about the extraordinary measures being taken to keep suspected drug lord el chapo behind bars. el comapo was arrested earlier this month after his second prises break. we've told you guards are moving him between cells every few hours. now we know the prison floors have been reenforced with steel rods and drug dogs trained to

are on duty by the doors. the prison has installed 400 new security cameras with plans for another 600 by april. and guards are wearing helmet cams that roll on el chapo. josh: the supreme court will hear a legal challenge to president obama's executive action when it comes to immigration. the president acted without congress' approval last year after reform legislation failed to pass. sally kidd is in washington. reporter: the justices will decide if the president acted within the scope of his authority under the constitution. now, his plan shields from deportation up to 5 million undocumented immigrants, making them eligible to work and get some federal benefits. the overhaul was announced 14 months ago. but it has since been blocked by federal courts, first in texas, then 25 other states. the white house says it is confident the court will uphold the president's actions.

12 to 24 exphowrs there's still a ways to go to figure out where that storm will track. it could wobble closer and give us quite a bit of snow, so we'll have to watch it closely between now, tomorrow and even into thursday. but for the here and now nice and quiet statewide, a few lingering flakes up north, will diminish later on this evening. and during the overnight stretch. temperatures are lining up about five, six, seven below the average for this early hour of the evening this time of year. right around 20 in many parts of southeastern new hampshire, a good part of the monadnock region around the upper teens and low 20's. and a little colder farther to the north. around lake sunapee only around 12. and heart of the lakes region between 10 and 15. gill information at 9 -- gilford at 9 with the wind chill below zero. you factor in the winds and it does feel like zero or below in many spots in northern new hampshire. take a look at the win chills right now, again that factor of

three below in berlin, four below whitefield, down below zero in plymouth and laconia, and just a little above that elsewhere in central and southern new hampshire. overnight tonight actual air temperatures fall off a little bit, but not that much. these numbers are right around the average for this time of year. but when you factor in the wind, certainly makes it feel colder, and that northwest wind continues to drive in all this chill back to our west, right over new hampshire through the end of this week and even the start of the weekend. so right now a couple of snow showers in the mountains. outside of that it's dry and it stays that buy through tomorrow, thursday and into friday. what about the weekend, once we get there we'll be watching that storm very closely as it develops and cranks up off the mid atlantic region. at this point looks like the heaviest snow will work over extreme southern parts of new england. and miss new hampshire. again, keep in mind, this is still four days out and the energy for this storm is just entered the pacific northwest.

is not only is site far away, but the computer guidance that we use really gets a good handle on this energy once it works over land, where there's a lot more data points over the land as opposed to the water. so between tonight and tomorrow the computer guidance is going to help steer us in the right direction and that's what we'll be tracking between now and then.
