erin: manchester police seized tens of thousands of dollars worth of drugs during an early morning raid. it is one drug in particular they are glad to get off the streets. >> no one covers new hampshire like we do. now, wmur news 9 daybreak. erin: good morning, new hampshire. a lot of people talking about what we are going to get from the potential storm this weekend. sean: it looks like the brunt of it is going to the south of us. kevin: i think the heaviest of it will be down through the mid-atlantic states. the focus as it continues to move onshore is for that storm to track farther to the south. we have fairly cloudy conditions out there. winds are still a big factor. temperatures today likely aren' t going to get much above 30 in

from the wzid traffic network, i' m deb davidson for 95.7 wzid. sean: police are searching for two men accused of breaking into a home in raymond. erin: ray brewer is live at the police department for us. police have now recovered some evidence, right? ray: that' s right. a key piece of evidence. police also telling us that the two men forced their way inside that home and struggled with that homeowner. after the struggle, the homeowner was bound with duct tape before the attackers went through the house and stole several small items, as well as some wrestling memorabilia before taking off in the homeowner' s car. a statewide manhunt got underway last night. investigators say the homeowner

injuries in the attack, but they the suspects. >> two male subjects with black masks, one being 6' 2", one being about five foot eight entered the residence and took some wrestling memorabilia and the subject' s. charger. ray: as for that key piece of evidence that was recovered, you 2010 black dodge charger. police are not telling us if any weapons were used in this home invasion. continues. ok. ray brewer, wmur news 9. erin: thank you. investigators say a fire in somersworth that sent a man to the hospital yesterday evening started in a second-floor

when firefighters arrived, they found flames on the second floor and an injured man outside. the injuries were severe enough to have that person flown to boston to be treated. the fire cost about $75,000 in damage. the cause remains under investigation. sean: the fbi is investigating after a series of bomb threats to schools across the eastern seaboard. students at farmington high school or evacuated after a message was found written on the wall of a boy' s bathroom. there were calls to other schools, claiming there were pipe bombs in the buildings. >> it is upsetting. we are close to finals. it is really an annoyance. sean: similar calls were received at 20 schools in massachusetts.

erin: the new hampshire primary is less than three weeks away. the latest poll shows that the democratic race may be turning into a landslide, but not the way many had predicted. the poll shows bernie sanders with 60% support compared to just 33% for clinton. the divide is even greater among young people under the age of 35 -- sanders has 81% to clinton' s 17%. women voters are tilting in favor of the vermont senator. clinton still has a 65% favorability rating, but it is a far cry from the 91% for sanders. half of voters have not made up their minds. >> a lot of time in primaries, voters opinions can be very volatile. i think the results of iowa are

erin: in this poll, former maryland governor martin o' malley was a very distant third with 2% support. former president bill clinton will be in concord today trying to rally support for his wife. several republican hopefuls are crisscrossing the state. jeb bush, marco rubio, ted cruz, john kasich him and chris christie all have stops planned in manchester. sean: police have seized $35,000 worth of drugs after rating an apartment. they found mostly fentanyl. it is also sometimes mixed with heroin. three people were arrested on drug-related charges. raids like this will help save lives, police say. >> i' m very pleased with this arrest. this is a significant arrest, particularly given the amount of fentanyl seized. each one of those doses is a

it is the fentanyl that is today. sean: they also seized cocaine, crack cocaine, and heroin during the raid. erin: police are looking for a gunman after two people were shot at the maverick t station yesterday. an argument on board a blue line plane -- train spilled onto the platform. one man was shot as he started to get off the train. another was shot on the platform. witnesses say it was terrifying. >> people were moving away from the doors. the first instinct was to recoil. >> right when the doors open, you heard boom, boom, boom. >> we heard a shot. erin: both victims were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. blue line service was suspended for two hours while police investigated. sean: very frightening.

one of the missing marines is from massachusetts. a deadly assault on a university in northwest pakistan resulted in a gun battle that lasted four hours and it is now over. the pakistani taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack that has left 20 people dead and at least 50 others hurt. several explosions were heard as armed militants stormed to the campus overnight. the army said the operation to end the attack is finally over. in iraq, amnesty international bulldozed, blown up, and burned down thousands of homes in villages recaptured from isis. amnesty says that it could amount to war crimes. nearly 19,000 civilians were killed in iraq between january 2014 and october 2015 was nearly

the main timeframe looks to be saturday night and early sunday for the closest pass. the other trend is for the storm system to be suppressed a little bit farther to the south. it does not mean we will not see snow from the system, but the foot-plus of snow come of the bonanza of snow, would likely be from the virginia north carolina border, but up through the mid-atlantic states. maybe even cape cod. up here, we would be on the very northern fringes if it were to lift far enough north. that is the $1 million question right now. in southern parts of new england, it will likely be getting going. most of saturday should be just

down a bank robber. this woman held up the td bank on south river road last night. she claimed she had a weapon, but never showed one. she took off after getting some cash. no one was hurt. a belmont man is accused of trying to break into multiple homes. police arrested him after following his footprints in the snow. he is accused of trying to break into homes along orest drive while residents were asleep -- forest drive while residents were asleep. sean: the supreme court will not review michael addison' s case. his lawyers appealed his conviction, saying the trial judge violated his rights by not allowing jurors to hear that addison was remorseful and concerned about the officer after he was taken into custody. erin: in commitment 2016 news,

s campaign team is dealing with a tragic situation. a campaign volunteer died yesterday after suffering serious injuries in a car accident. three other campaign workers were hurt. a spokesman said they were all riding in a van in iowa when the van slipped onto its side and was hit by another vehicle on an icy road. carson was in south carolina at the time. he suspended all of his events through at least wednesday. >> our hearts go out to his family and to all of the families involved. you know, life is so fleeting that we have to make the most of every bit of it that we can. erin: authorities have identified the campaign volunteer as 25-year-old braden joplin. several other presidential candidates all offered condolences to his family.

tradition dating back to 1972 took place last night. some of the lesser-known presidential candidates gathered at the new hampshire institute of politics for their moment in the spotlight. five republicans shared their views. 18 democrats took their turn. one familiar democrat we did not see on the stage was vermin supreme. last cycle, he glitter bombed another candidate. >> apparently, doing that -- >> any regrets? >> i would do the same thing. yes, i would. sean: there are a total of 58 names on the new hampshire primary ballot. the primary takes place on tuesday, february 9. erin: one of the men charged in a violent road rage incident in raymond has accepted a plea deal.
