sanders and john kasich. >> no one covers new hampshire like we do. now, wmur news9 tonight. tom: crews are loading up trucks with salt right now in the mid-atlantic, as the region prepares for a massive snow storm. five governors have declared a state of emergency, as well as the mayor of washington, d.c. good evening, i' m tom griffith. the track of this storm over the last few days has it missing for the most part northern new england. the latest models have just been released. let' s get a breakdown on any changes from chief meteorologist mike haddad. mike: what are getting closer and closer to where the storm exit closest run at new hampshire about 48 hour' s now. now the computer models are split. the majority of them drive just about all the snow south of new hampshire.

data is coming entrenched in these models, are bringing some of the snow a little farther to the north so it does bear watching. we never lock in the track and say it is 100 resent guaranteed, but it continues to drill heavy rain over the deep south. snow as far south as parts of texas and southern arkansas. here is the snow cast into mid-atlantic region. when you have a storm that massive, it only takes a wobble of about 50-100 miles and you get into that heavier snow. not calling for that right now but we could see light accumulation. we will break downwind, how much few minutes. tom: the national weather service estimates more than 50 million people could be affected

down entirely late tomorrow night and stay closed through sunday. >> unless you absolutely have to be out tomorrow afternoon, residents and commuters to get home as early as possible on friday. during the storm and immediately after it passes, i strongly encourage residents to avoid the cleared. tom: boston will lend to truckmounted snowblowers to the d.c. area. the storm is expected to bring travel to a standstill by car, bus, train or plane. airlines in the path of the storm are preparing for mass cancellations later friday and saturday. and as jean mackin reports from the manchester boston regional airport there could be a ripple effect here. jean the big blizzard may be : staying to our south but the travel impact will reach right here.

for tonight, fair skies, sunshine all day tomorrow but not as gusty as today. once we get into saturday, the sun gives into thickening clouds. should be a bright day to start off the weekend. the closest run this nor' easter gets to new hampshire will be saturday night. it is out of here by early sunday morning. having said that, the northern edge of the snow will likely creep into northern massachusetts and may scoot over the border up to about manchester or concord. if that happens, a light accumulation of to an inch or two inches cannot be ruled out. look at all the advisories well off to the south. that is where the blockbuster snow amounts will pile up tomorrow and lasting through the day on saturday and into early sunday. light snow tries to creep into parts of southern new hampshire.
