blowing it around. there is still plenty of work ahead for crews clearing the streets. we saw several people with shovels, trying to dig out a car stuck in the middle of an intersection. the mayor has been asking drivers to stay off the roads, to give plows room to do their job. at reagan national, snow teams are working on the runways, but the airport is still expected to be closed tomorrow. subway service remains suspended to allow workers time to clean up the tracks. wind chills in the teens. tomorrow's forecast, still cold but sunny and clear. >> aixa, thank you. broadway may be quiet after shows were cancelled but new york city officials are busy cleaning up the snow. live look at manchester, where the subway has been shut down because of the storm. how much snow fell in n.y.c. >> even with 25.1 inches in central park, there were still

these are some of the notable totals. right now, baltimore, leading the pack, at almost 30 inches of snow. new york city at 25 inches. philadelphia, 22 inches. same thing in washington, d.c. boston, only five inches to give you some idea. but this has had huge effects up and down the seaboard and will over the next 24 hours, as everybody tries to clean up. for us, not even a flake! but we came so close! just into essex county, massachusetts, we had snowplow. now the -- we had snow. the one thing we have had, the winds. they've been gusty, especially at the seacoast. tonight, it's going to be a chilly one, especially up north. tomorrow, all of us enjoying sunshine temperatures warmer than where we were today. more, coming up. >> we just missed the snow here as hayley said, but parts of massachusetts were under a blizzard warning today.

of snow and strong winds. main concern will be coastal flooding when high tide hits early sunday morning. boston police say there's been lots of reports of accidents and they are asking people to stay off the roads. thousands of flights were cancelled because of the storm. more than a dozen were here in manchester. they were affected by cities slammed with snow. several passengers were rerouted on different flights arriving in manchester, while others rescheduled with their airline days ago. >> i just actually -- i'm familiar with how it goes. that's why i looked ahead of time and had an idea what was going to happen. >> if you're flying tonight, you should check ahead with your airline. now to commitment 2016. the republican first in the nation town hall took place today in nashua. seven candidate were there to speak.

trump did not attend. chris christie had planned to attend but returned to snowstorm. [applause] reporter: the first speaker at saturday's town hall talked about the importance of the new hampshire primary, just days before the first votes are cast. >> i think it's really great that in america, you want to be commander in chief, you want to be the most important political figure in the world. you've got to start by renting a car and driving to town halls and meeting with 30 and 40 people at a time. i think that's fantastic! reporter: while this was an opportunity to connect with voters and spread their message, a few republican candidates took aim at the party's front-runner, donald donald trump, as they tried to break out of the pack. >> we have the front-running candidate in our party right now, who is not a conservative. he isn't. he's a gifted entertainer! but he's not a korver. >> the question is, are we going to stand up to somebody who

franklin fire department says a fire. it's not clear what sparked the blaze. morning. a close call for a family in eaton. an s.u.v. veered off the road and crashed into the side of their mobile home. police say the driver lost control just before 1:00 this morning on route 153. a car crossed the centerline, plowed through the snow and house. fortunately, the people inside the house were sleeping on the opposite end and they were not hurt. the driver and four children in the s.u.v. were also unscathed. the driver, 30-year-old lema, faces multiple charges. >> at this point, the driver is being charged with possession of drugs in a motor vehicle as well as child restraints, for not having the children properly seat belted. >> police don't yet know what caused the crash. lema will be arraigned on february 16. hampstead police say two men accidently shot themselves in

trying to unjam a handgun. officers rushed to a home just before midnight and found responders treating 30-year-old caste ruwane and 30-year-old carl valiant of hampstead, with wounds to his hands and arms. police say ruwane said he was trying to clear the handgun. both men were treated at local hospitals. the patriots are getting ready to take on the denver broncos in the a.f.c. championship game tomorrow night! jason, pats fans got a surprise at a party tonight! reporter: yeah, that's right. just like the patriots and the broncos have to prepare and gear up for their big game tomorrow, the fans have to get ready too. that's what they did tonight. we'll show you pictures from katie's irish pub in downtown denver, colorado. a few hundred patriots fans

this dump truck and garbage truck were plowing the streets. a cnn reporter reporter was doing a live shot when she caught up with musician steven tyler and his daughter. tyler got his start in new hampshire. >> i like playing in the snow, so i'm kind of happy about this. >> we grew up playing in the snow and doing snowy angels and snow things, because he's a big kid. the minute i got up here, i was like, let's go play! >> now, your storm watch 9 forecast. >> tyler telling us and new hampshire, dream on! we didn't get any snow! not a flake. in fact, the clouds still in place from this system, but no flakes. some thing in derry. a quiet night for travel. no problems with travel, unless you are heading to the south of us. yes! the storm system completely missed us.

certainly some gusts of wind. sunny day. you wouldn't even know that the system was passing through. all of a sudden, it is starting to wind down and move even more off the coastline. really, we were just a couple miles away from getting at least a dusting. look at the comparisons between mass. about four inches of snow in salem, mass. they're only about 25 miles apart from each other. it would have literally been the difference of a few miles. we just didn't see anything. the track of this system had been pushing it off. and high pressure up to the north of us has been acting like a shield and keeping this system suppressed and pushed down towards the south. north. today temperatures were only in the 20's across the area. now, how are we doing for snowfall so far? in the month of december, we've had 12.4 inches so far for the

the winter season, in concord. compare that to some of the totals i showed you at the top of the show for new york and philadelphia, where they easily have doubled that just within this one system. we're kind of lacking here a little bit. the average for this time is about 30 inches. we're well below that and certainly well below what we had at this time last year. here are the current temperature readings, with the clouds in place over central and southern new hampshire. look at berlin, seven below, because of clear skies and the snow on the ground there. that is the recipe for some real cold air. so it will be a big difference from north to south tonight with the low temperature readings. the winds also are active too, especially at the seacoast. there could be gusts upwards of 20, 30 miles per hour overnight tonight. here we are, 7:00 tomorrow morning. and it's only the cape and the islands that have clouds from this system. the rest of us, back to full sunshine and all day tomorrow looks good.

clouds late in the day. there might be a few mountain snow showers during the evening and overnight hours and into monday. doesn't look like anything too heavy. so here's a breakdown of the temperatures. looks like berlin was already gotten colder than our low here. lakes region and point to the north will be very cold tonight, probably single decision. then you -- single digits. other areas with the clouds in place, it will be tougher to get there. tomorrow, a few degrees warmer than where we were even today, with light winds, lots of sunshine. it will be a great day to go out and do some skiing or maybe snowboarding. we'll warm up into the 20's later on. nothing too bad that would stop any of the chair lifts from going. big game, of course, tomorrow. go, pats! 3:05 is the kickoff.
