announcer: no one covers new hampshire like we do. now, wmur news 9 at 6:00. stephanie: in commitment 2016, in less than 24 hours, voters will head to the polls for the race. the iowa caucuses take place tomorrow. tonight, we have brand new poll numbers that show where the hampshire. i am stephanie woods. for more on the pulse and a busy day on the trail in iowa, josh mcelveen joins us live from des moines. josh: the 2016 election will be the iowa caucuses. every candidate who has been here is looking for a boost out of iowa heading into new hampshire eight days later. others. we have a new look on where the

tonight in the wmur-cnn granite state paul. a little more than a week before the primary bernie sanders holds , a commanding 23-point lead in new hampshire, with 57% of likely democratic voters saying they would give sanders their vote. an increasingly steep hill to climb for hillary clinton, even considering the 41% of say they have yet to make their pick. as for likely republican voters, 61% are undecided. for those with made their choice donald trump remains firmly atop , of it at 30%. after that it' s ted cruz, marco rubio, john kasich, and chris christie in a statistical tie for second place factoring in the margin of error. jeb bush is right behind that group with carly fiorina. rand paul and ben carson need an amazing final week in new hampshire. there is one more number to consider. that is 35, the percentage of new hampshire republican voters who say they will not vote for donald trump under any circumstances. it might be a first for any

that category in either party. we did have a chance to ask on the trip about that divide. we caught up with him and chris christie earlier today on the campaign trail in iowa. donald trump: i feel great having such a response. josh: after a church service and ahead of a rally, donald trump was joined by his wife as he spoke exclusively with news 9 about his faith and the campaign. donald trump: my faith makes me appreciate things more. josh: trump is unconcerned about the divide his candidacy has created within the g.o.p. what are you going to do to win over the republicans to win a general election in november? donald trump: i will keep working hard. we have an amazing country and amazing people.

here in new hampshire. this afternoon, he hosted a town hall meeting in salem. and right now, he' s speaking to voters in bow. he told the crowd if elected he , would reduce the national debt and create jobs. john kasich: there is hope. if you are drug addicted, there is hope. if you are the working poor, there is hope. if you have somebody in your family developmentally disabled, there is hope. if you are a member of the minority community and for so long you feel as though the symptom has the system has worked against you, there is hope. stephanie: he also hosted three town halls yesterday. while hillary clinton is in iowa today, she had several campaigning for me in new hampshire. the secretary of labor was in concord this afternoon at the clinton campaign office. several elected leaders are stumping for clinton across the state encouraging volunteers to get out the vote.

next week is important. tom perez: we are at crunch time. 2008 is the guide. roughly half of the voters will make up their mind in the last nine days. i' m here to say i am a strong supporter of hillary clinton. she is a fighter fighting for the middle class. stephanie: right now he is greeting volunteers in adam:. lindsey graham is back in new hampshire after dropping out of the race. this time, he is campaigning for jeb bush. the south carolina republican was in manchester today stopping at liberty house, and the airport diner. he says bush is the right candidate for the g.o.p. nomination. lindsey graham: he would stand up to trump. he is not running away from immigration. it is a hard problem. you have to work with the other side. his view about how to defend america is exactly my view. you set aside the defense cuts. john kasich talks about another round of base closings.

stephanie: he is also attending a house party' s the night in dover. four people are recovering after a ski accident in roxbury. this afternoon, two chairs collided trapping two people. the ski patrol and firefighters helped lower the people involved off the chairlift. four people were hurt, two taken to cheshire medical center for evaluation. they will need to inspect the chairlift before it starts running again. a c.o. leak forced modell' s sporting goods and pier 1 imports called before 1:30 about a gas smell in their stores. firefighters found above average levels of carbon monoxide in the stores and evacuated them for one hour to ventilate. fire officials believe a demolition crew at the former michael' s location next-door was not properly exhausting their

both stores are open. as the zika virus is spreading across central and south america, at least 36 americans have now been diagnosed. the biggest risk is to pregnant women. and because of that, some are deciding to change with their travel plans. wmur' s kristen carosa tells us why some are taking precautions. kristen: right now, there is no medicine to treat those infected by the zika virus so the c.d.c. has issued a travel advisory to keep people safe. and one family here in new hampshire is taking that advice. the lefebvre family is getting ready for a special trip even though plans have changed. >> we started about a year ago in anticipation of our 40th wedding anniversary looking for the whole family to be part of it. they were headed to st. thomas, but that has been cancelled. they' re now headed to florida because of the danger of the zika virus. their daughter-in-law is pregnant. >> my doctor advised us to not go on the trip if the zika virus

the area. kristen: so far, it has been found in southern and central america. brazil remains the hardest it. the virus is carried by a species of mosquitoes and has been linked to birth defects. >> specifically birth defects called microcephaly, which is small head and brain size. kristen: dr. benjamin chan says the biggest risk remains in pregnant women and their babies. he says 80% of people who become infected don' t feel sick. >> if people do develop symptoms, they are generally pretty mild consisting of fever, rash, joint pain, pink eye. kristen: dr. chan says the virus is not spreading in the u.s., but residents are being asked to avoid affected areas. the lefevbre family says after cancelling their trip to st. thomas, they are out due to $4200 rental fees. only 60% was refunded, but on the bright side they say the accommodating. but apparently it'

it felt like april today with temperatures in the 50' s. there is a live look in portsmouth at market square. probably a few people walking around still. a quiet sunday evening in derry with good travel conditions. look at these temperatures today. many of you on facebook telling me the temperatures you saw. here were some of your reports. linda in manchester said 58 degrees is what she saw on her thermometer. in milford, 55. hudson, 54. in the low 50' s at hampton beach along the walkway, pamela s. at the end of january, this is abnormal. the average high for the last day of january is 32 degrees. look at where we were today, well above that. 10 or 20 degrees above that. even in the northern part of the

we did not get to a record high in concord. we hit 51. the record is about 59. we were short of that. s. there. here are the temperatures at the moment. we have fallen below freezing in a couple of spots. for the most part, still relatively mild. 34 in laconia. woods. here is the situation. today, we had time where it was up. overcast. the upper valley. for the most part, it was dry across the state. that is not the case to the west of us. here is a cold front that will sweep through tomorrow. that will increase the clouds and bring in rain showers. no snow showers. it will be so mild that liquid.

this is 7:00 a.m. on monday. you see the temperatures well above freezing even when we wake up tomorrow morning. anything over us will be in the form of rain. look at the temperatures in the afternoon in central and southern new hampshire, again a clip sing the 50-degree mark. finally cooler on tuesday with sunshine. on wednesday, we heat up again. it is going to be mild. here' s what you can expect tonight. 30' s across the state. rarely even below freezing in a lot of spots. here is the school day forecast. starting out in the upper 30' s. for recess and the last bell, close to 50. at the onset of this rain arriving on wednesday, there might be slick spots early wednesday morning. but then heavy downpours come in and it will be in the form of heavy rain on wednesday.

but if you were hoping to see some of your favorites patriots, you won' t. seven new england players were selected to the pro bowl, the second most of any team in the league. but all seven backed out and will not participate. the list includes tom brady, rob gronkowski, chandler jones, even kicker stephen gostkowsi backed out of tonight' s game. that' s what they play for. the vince lombardi trophy arrived in san francisco last night, where it will remain until super bowl sunday. 49ers great roger craig escorted the trophy into the nfl experience. both the denver broncos and the carolina panthers left for california today. media day will take place on tuesday. >> we will stay in our routine but it will probably be shorter. hopefully we are short and sharp and continue that process and how we prepare to play. i want them relaxed. they have put in the work. i want them relaxed next week to get ready to go. >> i have told the players this

jason: novak djokovic is still perfect in six australian open finals. he defeated andy murray today in straight sets, handing murray his fifth australian open finals loss. djokovic now has 11 grand slam titles, including four of the last five, while murray became only the second man to lose five finals at one major. ivan lendl lost five u.s. open finals in the 1980' s. djokovic on a roll for sure. stephanie: good for him. it is feeling more like australia than it usually does in new hampshire in january. hayley: mild weather continues into tomorrow. stephanie: thanks for watching
