erin: good morning, new hampshire. thanks for waking up with us. sean: good morning, everybody. long night, but a lot, we are starting -- buckle up, we are starting one of the most exciting weeks in new hampshire. erin: several candidates arrived overnight, all fresh off the iowa caucuses. we caught up with bernie sanders an hour ago. >> i' m very proud of the campaign that we ran and the thousands of volunteers that worked so hard. the democratic race was a dead heat in iowa. hillary clinton just a fraction of a point ahead i of sanders. ted cruz pulled off the win on the republican side. sean: a busy night. we will have much more in just a moment. first, we' ve got to talk about the weather. february 1 felt like april 1. kevin: amazingly, not record highs yesterday. we lighten the wind out there today. quite a few clouds initially and that has kept temperatures up in areas. to near 30' s. west. it may come in early enough tomorrow morning with temperatures cold enough for little bit of a mix or light snow. rain will be the expectation.

focus on new hampshire for the next week. ray: if you candidates even spent caucus day here. -- erin: a few candidates even spent caucus day here. ray brewer is live at the airport diner with the shifting focus. ray: there is certainly no rest for the candidates after a late-night in iowa. we saw bernie sanders speaking to the crowd in bow. politics will be one of the many conversations at the airport diner. around new hampshire today, there are more than a dozen town hall meetings planned, along events. both bernie sanders and hillary clinton are here today. in the crowded republican race, jeb bush, donald trump, chris christie, ted cruz, john kasich, and marco rubio are all here.

expecting a lot of sunshine. there are quite a few clouds as you head inland. especially further north. a system arrives overnight tonight. sean: jury selection is underway in the trial of a londonderry man accused of breaking into a home. erin: gregory owens tracked his wife to saco and then shot his wife and the male homeowner three times. both did survive. the trial could take up to two weeks. a jury has found an allenstown man guilty of conspiracy to commit murder. they rejected his insanity clean. kyle buffum' s girlfriend pled guilty to the stabbing.

sean: police in rochester are releasing very few details about a serious assault out that a bar over the weekend. a man was taken to maine medical center after the attack outside gary' s bar and lounge. the victim was in serious condition at last check. the public is not in any danger and police have not named suspects. erin: a woman in vermont is expected to be released from the hospital after police say an ice missile smashed through her windshield. large chunks of ice flew off a tractor-trailer and slammed into the 73-year-old woman' s car, causing severe injuries to her face. it is possible the driver had no idea what had happened. authorities are reminding all drivers to clear all of the snow

the bipartisan policy center set up a 29-member commission to study polarization in america. among the recommendations, that the president hold regular monthly meetings with congressional leaders. sean: the presidential candidates are arriving in new hampshire as weise week. -- as we speak. they will be greeted by mild temperatures. kevin: we continue with temperatures well above the average for the next couple of days. we will slowly edge back starting on friday. we likely don' t go very far from there back upward anytime soon. we start off with quite a few clouds across the area. there will be a beautiful sunrise in spots. we have seen temperatures overnight fall back into the upper 20' s. the farther north you go, we have the clouds early this

s. the only snag is that this arrives likely very early tomorrow morning. we are looking at that chance of a little bit of light snow or wintry mix in the western or northern half of the state very early tomorrow morning. beyond that, it looks like it is already far and that will be heavy before winding down tomorrow evening. there will be a little bit of a breeze today. today at around 5-10 miles per hour. you can see the air mass in which that comes from. the wind will eventually turn to the north and that will start to feed in the much colder air. we look at high temperatures today ranging in the low and mid 40'

southern two thirds of the state. in the north country, the clouds may be more stubborn. this evening, we will start to see the clouds move back in. there will be the chance of a light mix of precipitation or a little bit of snow. then, any sort of mixed precipitation over to rainfall. rainfall wins out with higher temperatures across a good part s. the system will move away after out of that system. s on thursday. then we start to fall back as the cooler air arrives. that is likely the air mass in place in time for the weekend. we are back into the low and mid

found during a house fire. on saturday afternoon, someone reported black smoke from a home on 56 badger street. firefighters found the body of 94-year-old catherine braun. her cause of death has not been determined. erin: the allstate woman who successfully fought to get a medical marijuana id card has passed away. linda horan was battling stage four lung cancer and wanted to use medical marijuana to relieve pain and nausea. she was new hampshire' s only medical marijuana cardholder. threatening a people with a gun. police say it all started when they were called to flint pond on sunday. when officers arrived, they found 32-year-old kenneth defresne armed with a handgun and arguing with people who live in the area.

t vote or him? that is what the political class will be looking for. sean: thank you very much. erin: the world health organization has declared the zika virus and international emergency. the agency held an emergency meeting to assess the outbreak after noting a suspicious link between its arrival in brazil last year and a surge in the number of babies born with abnormally small heads. although there is no definitive proof that the virus is responsible for the birth defects, it was acknowledged that the level of alarm as high. the zika virus is causing problems for an indian motor company. tata motors plans to unveil its latest hatchback this week. the name of the car happens to be zica. the company is reevaluating the name and may consider a name change. the zika virus has spread to at

sean: scientists in the u.k. have been given approval to conduct gene editing experiments on human embryos. the researchers will not be creating babies. instead, the modified embryos will be destroyed after seven days. gene editing could one day lead to treatments for hiv and other conditions. the united states does not allow use of federal funds for use of -- gene editing. a big celebration is taking place in gobblers knob in pennsylvania on this groundhog day. the crowd is waiting on punxsutawney phil to make his annual appearance. supposed to mean six more weeks of winter. on the mark. since 1988, the famous groundhog has been right 13 times and wrong 15 times.

highs tomorrow in the 40' s should make it all rain and heavy at times. we will stay in the 40' thursday. then we start to fade back into s. the air mass is in place for next weekend and beyond. a thicker cloud cover up north. this system passes to our west later on tonight and early tomorrow. it may arrive early enough. in the north country, we may see a little bit of light snow or a wintry mix in the predawn hours. then we go right over to rainfall. head of that system, marginally chilly out there. temperatures running just above the freezing mark up north. we have a much lighter wind out there through the afternoon. clouds will start making their

the potential is going to be there for a little bit of light snow up north or a little bit of a wintry mix in western areas of the state. that eventually gets us back to partial sunshine and temperatures in the 40' s on thursday. we have a fairly quiet weekend weather-wise. there could be a couple of snow showers around later saturday or early sunday. low and mid 40' s out there today. tonight, temperatures fade back into the 20' s to lower 30' s. any moisture that tries to make its way in overnight could be a bit of a light, wintry mix. that will quickly go over to rainfall and eventually set up temperatures up into the 40' s, which is where we will be before cooling off before the weekend. a huge thank you to the second 10 third-graders at bicentennial
