sean: the political press is on in new hampshire with days left before the first in the nation primary. erin: there are dozens of events planned each day between now and tuesday. ray brewer is live in derry where hillary clinton and bernie sanders will share the stage tonight. ray: that' s right, originally the town hall was planned to include hillary clinton, bernie sanders, and maryland governor martin o' malley. he dropped out after his poor showing in the iowa caucuses. both sanders and clinton spent yesterday at events in new hampshire. they have get out the vote rallies today. even though clinton is claiming a narrow victory in iowa, sanders says he is not accepting defeat, claiming that some of the caucus votes may be up for reconsideration. the polls show sanders with a double-digit lead in new

friendly beaver campground. right now, they are simply calling this an untimely death. they have not identified the person who died. the man hospitalized after an assault in rochester over the weekend has died. police say 44-year-old james unfonak of rochester was hurt in a fight in the parking lot of gary' s sports bar and restaurant early sunday morning. he died at the hospital. no arrests have been made. sean: lawyers or a merrimack man accused of killing his wife are trying to get statements thrown out before his trial. 63-year-old joseph lawrence is charged with second-degree murder in the death of his wife. his attorneys claim that his statements were not voluntary because of his mental state. prosecutors say that while he was emotional, he was also consumed by guilt and the police

intentionally shooting his wife. erin: firefighters from new hampshire raced to battle a fire over the border in hartford, vermont. a man who lives on the second floor of the apartment building told firefighters that the flames started in his kitchen. he suffered burns trying to put the fire out himself. the fire finally spread into the attic and roof. firefighters spent the night keeping and i out for hotspots. the convicted murderer who escaped from a prison in upstate new york last june was sentenced for his escape. prosecutors will not pursue any charges in relation to the burglaries of hunting camp' s following the escape. sean: still to come, roller derby is very popular and fast-paced, but it turns out it

ticketed for going topless at a beach in gilford. police said heidi lilley and barbara mackinnon violated an ordinance in september that prohibits women from going topless, but the judge said there is no state law, criminal code or statue that prohibits this type of exposure in public, so the town lacked authority for criminal prosecution. erin: two local lawmakers are co-sponsoring a bill that would make the theft of a gun during a burglary a more serious crime. the bill would raise the punishment from a class b felony to a class a felony, meaning convicts would face an additional twenty years in jail for the theft. a hearing on proposal is scheduled to take place later this morning in concord. sean: a littleton man, suspected of selling heroin, is scheduled to face a judge today. police say 23-year-old eric english was arrested yesterday following a lengthy investigation. he is scheduled to be arraigned on charges including three counts of possession with the intent to distribute. erin: we know now what caused a chair lift accident at granite gorge in roxbury over the weekend. investigators say a mechanical

the gas meter. soon after, the house exploded and everything the couple owned was destroyed. the couple was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. sean: a new study shows that eating a moderate amount of seafood could help ward off alzheimer' s disease. researchers from rush university recruited older people living in public housing and retirement communities for their study. the participants agreed to keep track of their diet and donate their brains after they died. upon examining the brains , researchers discovered that participants who ate seafood at least once a week had less plaque and tangles associated with alzheimer' s disease. erin: in sports, the all-star break is over for the boston bruins. they skated at home last night with the toronto maple leafs. brad marchand scored the only goal in the first period to put boston up 1-0. the maple leafs got it back in the second to tie the game. the bruins took a 3-1 lead in the third, only to lose it and

the maple leafs won 4-3 in overtime. sean: the celtics played at the new york knicks last night. in the third quarter, isaiah thomas nailed the 3 to give the celtics a six point lead. thomas had a team high 20-points. later on the celtics were in transition when evan turner found tyler zeller for the jam. the celtics won the game 97-89. they host the detroit pistons tonight. as football fans gear up for the super bowl sunday, we are now learning who will sing the national anthem at the big game. the honor will go to lady gaga. she will perform live before the panthers and broncos kickoff. gaga will be joined on stage by actress marlee matlin, who will be signing the anthem. lady gaga also announced that she will be performing a david bowie special tribute during the grammys on february 15. a lot of pressure to get it right.

she is not as outlandish as she was. sean: a zoo in japan held an interesting drill yesterday. erin: take a look at this video. the zoo staff was practicing what to do in the event of an animal escape, but instead of using a real animal, one of the workers dressed up as an escaped zebra. a total of 150 zoo staff members, police officers and firefighters took part in the drill. the costumed zebra could be seen roaming around the zoo, even knocking down an employee, before it was tranquilized, poked and carted away. it was successful. they managed to wrangle the zebra in the end. sean: that was probably one of the best days at the zoo. erin: look at the zebra just wandering around. sean: it would have been interesting. kevin: honey, what did you do at
