developing now at noon, an 81-year-old nun is facing charges in connection with a hit and run in plaistow. on cam good afternoon, i' m jamie staton. a detail the other driver wrote down at the scene led to her arrest. here' s wmur' s ray brewer. ray: it was back on december 16, according to police captain when the 81-year-old nun struck a kohl' s and plaistow. damage to the vehicles was woman driver of the other vehicle got out to exchange drove away. the woman was able to copy her license plate and the police tracked her down. however, the sister hat -- been involved and continued that denial. an arrest warrant for the nun

sister dumont was released on bail. she is scheduled to be arraigned here on april 4. jamie: right now, traffic is down to one lane on bypass 28 in derry. crews are fixing a broken telephone pole and wires after a van crashed into it early this morning. no one was hurt. and a child is expected to be ok after getting hit by a car in somersworth. the accident happened in the area of high street yesterday afternoon. firefighters took the child to the hospital. for two men wanted in connection with an assault in manchester. a 21-year-old man told police that a group of men attacked him inside an apartment on lake avenue tuesday night. the victim was hurt, but he is expected to recover. police are looking for 19-year-old jackson crawford and 18-year-old aaron sisto. crawford is wanted on charges including criminal threatening with a deadly weapon and armed robbery. sisto is wanted on armed robbery and

police say both men should be to the weather now, where it' s feeling like winter again today. parts of the state are seeing 50' meteorologist kevin skarupa is here. that is a little different than the air temperature. a lot of areas will be in the s to lower 30' tonight. as a cooler air arrives, we will see a different kind of precipitation than what we have seen lately. there will be a weak area of low pressure train to develop along this front. for southeastern areas in the lower range of the 50' s right now, the best chance of seeing a light coating to an inch or two of accumulation to mourner morning -- tomorrow morning will be around for the morning commute. we will have that in a couple of chances for snow in your forecast.

governor maggie hassan will deliver her final state of the state address. some of the top issues the economy the opioid crisis and medicaid expansion. we go live now to adam sexton at the statehouse with a preview. adam: a busy day in new hampshire. we have a cameo appearance by state politics as the governor gives her final state of the state address as governor. two of the big topics rapidly intertwining is the opioid abuse crisis and medicaid expansion. republicans of late try to keep those to issue separate. democrats and the governor tried to lump them in together using momentum on one side to get some progress on the other. the governor is also expected to touch on jobs and the economy here in new hampshire. the subtext to all of this is the fact that governor hassan is running for u.s. senate. here in the state house come a have a couple of people, including a couple of

senators with an eye on the open -- a couple of state senators with an eye on the open governor seat. we await her remarks at 1:30. jamie: happening right now, republican frontrunner donald trump is holding a town hall in exeter which he will follow up with a business stop in town. this afternoon he will be stopping at the manchester police department before heading to great bay community college in portsmouth for a rally tonight. jamie: right now, other presidential hopefuls are also campaigning here that includes jeb bush. he started his day on the trail stopping at global manufacturing in pittsfield for an employee town hall. town hall at west running brook middle school.

in 2004. a new travel advisory over the zika virus. the cdc has added jamaica and tonga to the list of places where the virus has been transmitted by mosquitos. this comes as united and delta airlines say they will allow staff members who are pregnant or might become pregnant to opt-out of flights headed to areas where the virus is a concern. the world health organization has declared a global health emergency because of the zika virus. zika has been linked to neurological problems and babies being born with abnormally small skulls. issues with the irs computer system means you can' t file your taxes electronically right now. the irs says due to a widespread computer failure it stopped accepting e-filed returns. it' s unclear what triggered the hardware failure. working to get everything back up and running but expected that some systems wouldn' t be available until sometime

we continue to roll over to the next day with temperatures hovering around in the 50' s. we will now continue to cool off from here is the west wing continue -- west wind gets going. still quite a few high clouds across the region are not expecting anything more than a quick passing sprinkle in a few spots through the remainder of the afternoon. some breaks of sunshine to partial sunshine this afternoon. the actual front itself now located offshore but come as you will notice, it drapes all the way down through the carolinas and a weak area low pressure will develop along and strengthen as it makes its way southeast of cape cod tomorrow morning. that would put us on the very northwestern edge of that precipitation shield which will give us a chance of some light snow.

before tapering off late morning. with the west wing, you will notice the cooler temperatures. the slide will continually discontinue gradually through the afternoon. later this evening, we drop back into the 20' s and lower 30' s. that is likely where we will be in the predawn hours. you can see the development of that after 2:00 or 3:00 a.m.. you will notice very sharp cut off. most likely in southeastern areas where it starts to fade into southeastern areas and then fade out of southeastern areas. that time light again -- that timeline again, 7:00. we aren' t expecting heavy snow out of the system. the heaviest of which will be south of boston. but it could be enough to provide some slick spots. from there, we go back to fair skies tomorrow afternoon, like most of the day tomorrow in western and northern areas away

and will be a chance of a passing snow shower and then all eyes the west for another system that will try to make its way up the east coast later monday night into tuesday. it won' t take long to get a couple of snow chances in here. mainly southeastern areas, including rochester, manchester, and portsmouth with a light coating. we could see spots with three ages. that seems to be the limits of the system as it moves away from us on the extreme northwestern fringes. snowed shower chance late sunday night. later monday night and into tuesday, which could be more snow in time for primary day. much more on all of the starting at 5:00. jamie: it' s time for positive parenting. joining us today from unh cooperative extension is claes

movement -- claes: the whole ideas is to get people building and making things. it is kind of an outgrowth of the old do it your people could sort of do things. build it yourself. i think the hands-on work is a really great way to involve kids and science. kids are always engaged when they get to build entry things on their own. it can be a simple as making paper airplanes to building elaborate robots and sculptures. i' ve seen people welding bicycle frames together to see if they can build those and ride those along. jamie: so creating something in

building something. claes: it is a great way to involve kids in science. because it is so hands-on, kids can really take pride in things that they create. there are very small robots that kids can make. or paper airplanes. it is really about creating. knitting. jewelry. jamie: i like the old science fairs. sort of like that. what are some other examples of days? kinds of things. the maker movement is showcased in maker fares. you see people creating things from rockets to bicycles to pedal-powered cars. people are building these hover control yourself. you can build it from scratch. robots are a popular thing. but so is art. i have seen people getting into textiles and costumes, and

jamie: what kind of resources and opportunities are out there? claes: local libraries today are often offering classes in jewelry making and bookbinding. there is a couple of great websites. there is a maze in called make magazine. if you go to their website, they have all as a plans from very simple to very elaborate types of things you can get an build and create. another one is called instructibles. cooking to robotics to paper airplanes. jamie: great weight -- great way to get the family involved. claes: we are all hoping for snow. area of new hampshire.
