erin: new details this noon on a three alarm house fire in new ipswich. the fire chief says this serves when your pipes freeze. good afternoon. i am erin fehlau. the fire was sparked by the homeowner trying to fall pipes. now his home is a total loss. wmur' s ray brewer is live without top story. ray: the fire was just across the road down major road. not only was the homeowner using a blowtorch to fall the pipes, he was also using a metal paint the fire at 811 turnpike road in new ipswich was reported at 7:00 in the morning. arrive at the scene, the homeowner was the only one outside.

had spread to the roof. chief ordered everyone out. they determined he was trying to floor with a blowtorch when a piece of insulation fell down and caught fire, quickly spreading throughout the roof. the chief says never use a torch to fall pipes, but there is a safe way to do. chief leel: a hairdryer works fine. it takes longer, but at least you have your house standing when you get the pipes done. ray: the chief says it' s at about an hour and a half to get the fire under control, and nobody was injured. the fire went to three alarms at first to get more water to the scene, but then additional firefighters were needed to contain the fire. the house appears to be a total loss. reporting live in new ipswich, ray brewer, wmur news 9. erin: right now, temperatures across the state are in the 30' s. for you right now.

clouds, but will this trend continue? meteorologist kevin skarupa' s here with the details. kevin: about as quiet as we have been, really no huge temperature swings. if anything, settling down after the big system and the huge changes we have had. you will notice quite a few more clouds in the north country but a blend of sunshine in clouds otherwise. a couple of weak systems we' re tracking, one moving into the north country later this evening. by then, temperatures will be down into the teens tonight. s later on this evening. a lot more seasonal for this time of year. from there, another system tracking to start the weekend. a pretty good change for the weekend. we will talk about that in a few minutes. erin: all right, kevin. right now, a serious crash on i-293.

commitment 2016 coverage right now. some breaking news the race for congress in new hampshire. during a taping of "close-up" with political director josh mcelveen, republican pam tucker inclusively told wmur she is running to challenge incumbent frank guinta in the first congressional district. tucker says what she saw on primary night helped her make the decision. rep. tucker: i think what we saw with donald trump being a top of the ticket in new hampshire is people are looking for someone outside of washington, people who are not part of the establishment, if you will, crew. in terms of that, i fit the bill. erin: tucker has served four terms as state rep in massachusetts. -- in new hampshire. you can watch the full interview with tucker on "closeup" sunday at 10:00 a.m.

into the mass shooting in san bernardino, california. apple will fight a federal order to help crack the encryption on the phone of the main suspect, syed farook. abc' s lana zak has more on what the federal order says. lana: a master key to unlock all phones -- that is what apple says the government is requiring them to create, and the dangers of that could have future ramifications for all americans according to apple' s ceo tim cook. at the heart of the issue -- recovering information off the iphone of one of the san bernardino killers. dir. comey: we still have one of those killer' s phones that we have not been able to open. it has been over two months now. lana: the government trying to assess the involvement of vices 14 victims debt. investigators have not been able to crack the pass code the cell phone used by syed farook. they are concerned that 10 tries would make the phone erased and

the u.s. and south korea consider that rocket launch a technology. the country is likely to view the american air power as a threat. this noon, there are new guidelines to protect the blood supply from the zika virus. the fda is recommending that blood banks refuse donations from people who have traveled to countries where the virus is active in the last four weeks. the agency is also recommending turning away donors who may have had sexual contact with someone who recently traveled to a zika- affected country. severe birth defects. today, pope francis is wrapping up a five-day trip to mexico. the pontiff will visit a prison just days after dozens of inmates at another facility were killed in a riot. he will also visit the border where he is expected to stop at the fence and give a blessing and honor of migrants.

i will make that stock, finish it, freeze it as ice cubes, and every time i make a saute ed vegetable, i use the vegetable stock for rich, local flavor. erin: and the ice cubes are easy-to-use. i noticed you are using the coconut oil. that is kind of big these days. steven: it is the best for high temperature cooking. this is organic, unrefined, which is the cadillac. any of these vegetables work. you want to keep them to bite size pieces so they cook in less than four minutes. more than four minutes, and you are cooking the nutrients out. you throw in the watercress, you shake it about, and this will compact down. this whole portion of watercress -- gethsemane calories -- guess how many calories? erin: very few i am sure. steven: 10 calories. and we will be full on this it
