ray: prosecutors say the allegation involve a total of five inmates. now yesterday he was indicted on nine counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault. he is accused of sexually assaulting them while transporting them. he's accused of having intercourse with two female inmates. >> inmates are people too. some of them have been prosecuted by this office. but they are also victims and in this case very vulnerable victims. ray: blanchett was indicted in october for aggravated felonious sexual assault he was taking to the women's state prison. he faces a total of five separate trials. live in laconia, ray

thanks. a circus company faces a dozen violations after a lancaster. two people died and dozens were injured. according to a new report from osha, the circus operator, walker international events, failed to build the tent properly and ignored seven severe weather alerts. they cited violations that put employees at risk of electrical shock, burns, and cuts. >> no enforcement action that we take will bring back the victims to their families and the communities and that going forward we want to make sure that we send the message to the employer and other employers that they need to follow proper procedures. sean: walker international $33,000. we tried to contact the company, but we could not reach them. osha says it will meet with them next week. erin: a rochester man is due in

four homes in dover. he was accused of portsmouth. he broke in to homes in dover during the day looking for jewelry. they are still looking in to four other break ins. an amherst woman is accused of stealing more than $20,000 worth of clothing and electronics from sports authority in nashua while she worked there. 49-year-old carol koehler stole the items years and sold them online. officers also found several of the stolen items in koehler's home. sean: there will be extra police at the regional high school in kingston after a student made a threat directed at the winter carnival pep rally. as we reported earlier this week, district officials say the student is no longer in school. he is cooperating with police. the school also says any students that choose to stay home today because of concerns over the threat will be given an excused absence. a mother and five-month-old girl are in the hospital with life-threatening

kevin: friday morning, february 19th. a beautiful sunrise. headed up in to the 30's with an increase in clouds later this afternoon ahead of the next system arriving tonight. it produces big changes for the weekend. all of the details with future cast coming up. erin: the red cross is teaming up to help people in manchester get ready for an emergency. sean: the groups will hand out 400 emergency preparedness kits across the city. each includes drinking water, light, poncho, and the red cross first aid guide. >> it is critical to be prepared before something happens. these kids will give people the tools and the skills to be prepared before a fire happens in their home or before

home because of some emergency. sean: the kits will be handed out this spring when red cross members help install smoke detectors in homes around the time we change our clocks. erin: this week's hometown hero says she surprised herself. tori sipes is a freshman at the derryfield school. she just won the all around title. she also won the bar and beam events. tori has been competed since she was seven. she's now a level nine gymnast, training four hours every night. >> i'm kind of surprised that i won. especially with all of the good gymnast competitors. it was just exciting. it means a lot. it is great to place on the individual events. just to know you won the overall is great. yeah. and see how consistent you are on all of the events. you were able to pull together a good enough score. erin: how about that? in addition to her gymnastic skills, she

the state senate has approved a bill that creates different marriage license forms for gay and straight couples. the primary goal of the legislation is to remove the names of county clerks from marriage licenses after a clerk refused to issue same-sex licenses last summer. critics say having two different forms is unequal treatment. the house is expected to pass its own version of the bill. sean: more than a million walmart employees are getting a raise tomorrow. the retail giant is raiding the minimum wage from $9 to $10. that applies to all of the company's hourly workers and supervisors. the higher wages will cost an extra $1.5 billion this year. mcdonald's is trying out a new menu option. it is a fried chicken patty served on a maple syrup bun. now it is available only at 11 locationing in ohio.

it could go national. we'll keep an eye on that. virgin galactic plans to unveil the new spaceship. it is flown by two pilots and can carry passengers up to 62 miles above the earth's surface. hundreds of people have put down deposits of 250,000 for a chance to fly. erin: wow. the lack of snow tonights to cause new problems for winter activities across the state. the mt. washington auto road stopped the snowmobile tours. the state spent out a request that all grooming across the state be stopped. >> we received notice from the bureau of trails they weren't going to reimburse us for grooming and we had to cease all of the operations that way. erin: poor conditions are taking a cut out of business for restaurants, hotels, rental properties, and those who work on the snowmobiles as well.

the greatest season. kevin: there are four factors that guide the winter season. for the last three years they have been clicking almost on all cylinders. this year they held back. the combination of all four of them holding back at the same time after been going for three years left us where we are. which is about two feet of snow below normal to the point in the season. start off with the chilly conditions. single digits and teens. certainly cold enough for snow. it will be later on tonight as the next system approaches. it will be a fairly weak system. it will have a warm front associated with it. it brings in the milder temperatures for the weekend itself. we start off with sunshine early this morning as it rises and a light wind. i think everyone will appreciate in to the afternoon. a lot of sunshine out there this morning with an increase in high clouds. you'll notice along the warm front light snow. that will start to push in. we could see a few flurries fly around in the western and northern areas. you'll notice the

single digits to mid teens. you'll notice the 12 on temperature of mt. washington. that's foreshadowing the air mass that the rest of us will see over the next 24 hours. still running a solid 10-15 degrees come ethan yesterday at this time. we're going to continue to watch the coldest of the air rotate through. you'll notice it is nothing but milder air thereafter all the way through the weekend. high temperatures today more most locations above the freezing mark could push in to the upper 30's in southern areas of the state through the afternoon with a fairly light wind. clouds will start increasing after 2:00 or 3:00 from west to east. might be a few flurryies around. the better chance is early tomorrow morning. looks like the main window will be midnight through about 8:00 or 9:00 tomorrow morning. if you get up early, still some light snow. a general one to three inches of accumulation a possibility with maybe a light coating to an inch. from there there may be a stray shower.

deputies indictment. good morning, ray. ray: good morning. 37-year-old ernest blanchett waking up behind bars after authorities say he was involved in alleged sexual assaults that involved at least five inmates. >> it is particularly disappointing when you have someone in the position of trust and authority. they are supposed to be protecting the public. ray: the former sheriffs deputy was indicted on nine counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault and one count of felonious sexual assault. the cases involve five victim. all of them inmates. blanchett is accuse the of assaulting those inmates while transporting them to or facilities. >> the allegation is during the time he was transporting the individuals, he engaged in sexual contact with two of them. specifically we're alleging that he engaged in sexual intercourse with two separate female

transports. ray: in three other cases, blanchett is accuse of the coercing and watching the inmates have sex with each other. he is now facing five different trials. >> inmates are people too. prosecuted by this office. they are also victims and in this case very vulnerable victims. ray: right now blanchett's bail isset at $100,000. because this was an indictment and not an arrest, authorities have not released blanchett's mug shot to the media. live in laconia, ray brewer, wmur news 9. sean: the superintendent says a supposed threat that prompted a petition was unfounded. some pembroke academy student and their parents signed alleging threatened to do something violent. they believe the same

stay in school. the superintendent says they did investigate. after numerous interviews with students, including the one in question, they rumor. >> we had about 100 students absent. it was very upsetting. it was upsetting to all of us. that's a superintendent's worst nightmare to hear a threat to the school and the safety of students. we called the police and thoroughly investigated. anything. >> the kids spoke up and talked to us. it is a good working relationship and environment. sean: an alert was sent to parents to let them know about the investigations and its findings. erin: the commuter rail in boston is running on its normal surgery after some major delays yesterday. an amtrak signal problem kept almost all of the trains out of south station. workers finally fixed the problem overnight. the issue caused long backups that left many

published, it could make it more difficult for those people to rehabilitate and find gainful employment. erin: jeanne shaheen is hearing from people directly impacted by the drug crisis as she prepares to prevent a plan. yesterday she spoke with program leaders and recovering addicts. her plan would provide 6u million in emergency funding to first responders and treatment centers that handle drug overdoses. >> what that legislation would do is provide support to programs that we know have been working to help address treatment, to help law enforcement as they are trying to put pushers behind bars to help with drug courts with prescription drug monitoring so we can track what's going on. erin: the senate is scheduled to take up the bill next week. at the state house, a hearing is being held on the proposal to expand

it adds acts of terrorism and civil rites offenses to capital murder statute. it means a person convicted of causing death by using a weapon of mass destruction or causing a death of a person exercising certain civil acts could face the death penalty. sean: firefighters in berlin came to the rescue of deer that ran in to trouble. the deer was struggling to stay above water. the doe was suffering from hypothermia when they pulled it in to the rescue boat. after ten minutes, the deer perked up and was later released in to the water. they think the deer was stuck in the water for about an hour. thankfully rather man or beast firefighters will come rescue. erin: deer is on the way. a dramatic scene in hawaii. a helicopter caught on camera crashing at pearl harbor. everyone on board survived. sean: the french government is attempting to give workers a good excuse to leave their jobs at the office.

and opioid problem in new hampshire. one strengthening the plenties were dealing and the other creates a committee to study the use of the drug narcan. the governor's association meeting continues here in washington on monday. back to you, sean. erin: a teenager is in critical condition after surviving a helicopter crash in pearl harbor. five people were in the helicopter. they rushed to help pull the victims to shore. it was flying erratically with white smoke coming from its tail before it went down. >> it was surreal. very scary. they fell down and hit the water 20 yards off shore. thank god he didn't hit shore. there was 150 people standing around. erin: an ntsb investigators is expected to arrive today.

to determine what caused the helicopter to crash. sean: a new study says the military is struggling to provide adequate care for active duty troops struggling. the rancore study revealed that many troops with ptsd are not getting the minimum number of sessions. the minimum number is four within eight weeks. officials blame the issue on a lack of mental health professionals. they say the military will turn to civilian therapist available through contracts. erin: authorities are investigating the disappearance of 100 people whose remains were found. they happened between 99 and 2001. authorities say the victims were inmates, visitors, and people who had nothing to do with the prison. they say there could be more remains in sewers underneath other jails across columbia.

is out of a job. a train nearly slammed in the back of the bus while it was full of high school students. the cell phone video shows how close the train was. the driver did not follow standard protocol. bus driver haves to stop at least 15 feet from the track, open the door, and look and cross. >> that was close. away. just coming that close would be life changing experience. >> we're all screaming and telling her to move forward. everyone was just really freaking out. really terrified at the moment. sean: after the incident the bus driver brought the bus back saying the students were so loud it couldn't be driven safely. after the incident the bus driver was fired. erin: people have been dealing with an annoying sound. no one knows what it is or when it is coming

race on the 15th year anniversary of his father's death there at daytona. dale junior dominated for his 17th career win. he'll start third in the race. kyle busch won the second race. they crashed the cars in the accident. among those who wrecked weremy jimmie johnson and martin truex jr. and in france they are giving the employees a right to disconnect when they are not at the office. it is designed to make them more competitive and business friendly while protecting workers' interest. they have long pushed for the disconnect rule says it forces employees to work well beyond the 35 hours per week rule. that rule was put in place in 2000 as a way of encouraging companies to hire more people by limiting work hours. sean: [speaking french]

then a band of light snow pushing through. you'll notice from manchester to the coast it will be a mixture of rain and snow. farther back to the north and west of concord, it could be a quick one to three inches of accumulation. there might be a stray rain shower early saturday evening. the drier of the two days looks to be sunday. partial sunshine. temperatures in most locations in the low to mid 40's. the next system is a quick mover to the south. which means southern areas could be scraped by a little bit of light snow on monday morning. then a much larger system coming on shore along the west coast. it would try to arrive late tuesday and wednesday. depending on the track could be rain or snow. temperatures starting the day cold. heading back in 30's. warmer weekend after a little bit of light snow early tomorrow morning. then we start to fade back from there. that will be ahead of the next system that comes up the coast on wednesday. maps as you would imagine five to six days away still very mixed as
