sean: right now, a man is being treated for severe burns after investigators say he caught himself on fire while trying to light a brush pile on fire. good afternoon, everybody. i' m sean mcdonald. the victim was met flooded from the scene at goffstown. good afternoon, ray. ray: we are at the scene where the helicopter landed to take the victim to the hospital. neighbor said they could hear a loud boom and soul smoke rising above the -- saw smoke rising above the tree line. paramedics worked to stabilize a man injured in the explosion. the victim, who has not been identified, was eventually loaded onto a helicopter and medflighted to boston. chief o' brien: he had injuries on his chest, arms, and hands. ray: the calls started coming into the fire department shortly

a coworker called 911, but called 911. investigators were able to brien: apparently, the gentleman was attempting to kindle a fire to burn some wood debris with an excel rent, gasoline -- an accelerant, a gasoline-type material. when he attempted to ignite the ignited. ray: the chief says if you want to start a fire, use paper, never an accelerant. reporting live in goffstown, ray brewer, wmur news 9 at noon news 9. sean: this noon, a fire was started by careless disposal of smoking materials. they were called to carlene drive. this serves as a reminder to use caution and properly dispose of smoking materials.

the sun is out, and much of the state is seeing temperatures in the 30' s or so. here is a live look in portsmouth, just above freezing, 34 degrees. tonight, some snow is expected to move in. meteorologist hayley lapoint is with us. hayley: it is beautiful right now, but the clouds are on their way. you can see them entering lebanon, hannover at the moment, and eventually they will spread across the state. look at the west, rochester, syracuse, new york, a line of snow. it is making a beeline toward us. behind that line, there is more snow and even rain showers that will move through on our saturday. temperatures in the 30' s now concord, manchester, 30 degrees in whitefield. for the rest of the afternoon, we will climb to the mid-and even upper-30' s was eventually the skies becoming mostly cloudy. snow should hold off until after 7:00 tonight even in the western areas of the state feared we will have the snow moving through overnight.

>> now, meteorologist hayley forecast. everyone. it is a beautiful friday afternoon with clear skies at hampton beach. it is certainly a little chilly -- 34 degrees. all across the state, we are enjoying the crystal clear blue skies. we beginning to see the clouds moving in from the west, especially in that lakes region camera. you can start to see those high clouds moving in, but still beautiful in the monadnock region, portsmouth, a great day for ice skating. temperatures are in the 30'

even up north, 30 degrees in whitefield, 32 and plymouth. there is a 28 in lebanon, also laconia. here is the scope -- we will have the sunshine around for another couple of hours. by then, the clouds are going to fill in. high clouds are starting to arrive in the lakes region, and this ashley in the upper valley and -- and especially in the upper valley in northern areas. they start off as the high, thin clouds, but thicker clouds to the west of us as part of a storm system that will bring in some snow showers during the overnight hours tonight. meantime, the snow is working its way along the newark freeway. snap -- overnight, showers have moved through rochester, new york. they are headed to syracuse now. tonight, i expect snow showers to arrive for us after 7:00 tonight in the western areas of the state and after 9:00 for central and southern new hampshire.

re not done once this line of snow showers move through. it is part of the bigger system with the center of the system out by the twin cities. we have the threat of showers tonight. there is the time i have it all -- clouds fill in. this is 5:00 tonight. we are overcast tonight. it will be dry. after the evening commute, snow showers arrive in the upper valley and monadnock region first. by 10:00 in the evening, so if you have plans to eat out or going to see a movie, you might notice when you are heading home a few snow showers starting to move through. notice the snow showers overspread the state and even some changeover to rein in the southeastern part of the state by about 7:00 tomorrow morning. you get a little break in the action midday, but then we will see the return of some showers and we will get this all across the state. it is in the form of rain because temperatures will be warm enough to have that going on. on sunday, we get back to

no showers -- mountain snow showers. sunday looking like the brighter of the weekend. north and west of manchester, a coating to one inch of snow. that goes for overnight tonight and into saturday. today, increasing clouds, chili, snow tonight. if you have plans to do skiing or boarding this weekend, you will be good both days and somewhat mild. temperatures in the 40' s. sunday night, we have a storm system that will move through southern enhancer. maybe a quick coating of snow monday, than watching another storm system midweek next week. unfortunately, for the snow lovers, it does not look like exclusively snow again. hey, sean, keep some samoas for me in there. here is cook' s corner. sean: yeah, we kind of bury the lead us today. we will put go girl scout cookies in the recipes.

and white mountains. what are we going to make today? julia: tagalong truffles. you will start by needing one box of tagalong cookies, 1/4 of cream cheese, 1/4 of peanut butter, and 12 ounces of chocolate-flavored almond bark. we start by crushing up the cookies in a food processor. smash them up in a ziploc bag or something. once you have something that looks somewhat like this, you will mix in your peanut butter and the cream cheese. this part is hard because it gets really sticky. sean: it gets sticky. do you need me to taste test this at all? [laughs] sean: ok, i was just checking. so you get a scoop in there. i will put the gloves on.

julia: try to make them about one inch thin. sean: actually, i think i did a pretty good job. julia: once you have those, you want to refrigerate them for half an hour or put them in the freezer for 15 minutes.i have some better chilled . sean: because you did not trust julia: [laughs] this is why we have the forks. sean: i was wondering. julia: twoo middle prongs. the reason they have to be about one inch is so you can take them -- sean: ok, very carefully. julia: and then you want to cover them in chocolate. sean: because we do not have enough chocolate already. ok. while we are doing this, people are like wow, you can go to girlscoutsgwm.org, and you have got something called the cookie locator. find out where girl scout cookies are near you.
