killed in the terrorist attacks. good afternoon. i'm kristen carosa. 13 people with ties to new hampshire perished that day. today ceremonies were held to mark the solemn occasion. wmur's ray brewer is live outside trinity high school in manchester, where there is a growing memorial to the victims. ray: throughout the day here at trinity, school are placing flags in front of their school, a concrete reminder of what was friday was not a day like any other at trinity high school in manchester. >> ? whose broad stripes and bright stars ? ray: a solemn remembrance of what happened 15 years ago when america was attacked. bishop peter libasci says the way people helped each other in the aftermath gave reason for hope. >> the realization that people can do better that there's

we can bring that back without tragedy but in the good times embrace each other, we've got a lot to be grateful for. ray: outside the school students placed flags each one bearing a , victim's name. >> it's our intent that each victim receives the thoughts, the reflections, the prayers of our students. ray: at smyth road elementary school they were also remembering. for one student who introduced the governor, there is a special connection. >> my mom and dad were in nyc -- in new york city when it happened. governor hassan: september 11 was also a day in which americans demonstrated our individual and collective resiliance in the face of great horror. >> thank you. ray: mayor ted gatsas told the students to thank first responders. and one of those first responders says there is one lesson in particular he takes he takes from 9/11. >> i look at it as a way to find inspiration. i look at it as a way to see the

kittery, maine and portsmouth, ending up at prescott park. the unified display is meant to honor the heroic actions of first responders during 9/11. >> we want the community to know that we are still here, that we still remember, and that they should, too. and that while they remember, while we are on the streets, they can know that they are protected. kristen: among the participants were navy personnel who work at the yard, as well as crew maintenance there. across the country, people are coming together to honor those who died in the terrorist attacks. the traders on the floor of the new york stock exchange held a moment of silence in remembrance of 9/11 before the opening bell this morning. and today in washington, d.c., lawmakers also gathered on capitol hill to take a moment to remember those who died in the

pop up in extreme southern and southeastern areas due to a dryer brees. not helping all that much in the dew point department. we have dew points in the 60's to near 70. that puts the heat index above 90 degrees for several hours this afternoon. much more on the changes, and there are big ones, in time for the weekend. kristen: kevin, thanks. manchester police have made a new arrest in the robbery and beating of a store owner and now say the first man arrested did not commit the cri first degree assault. police say while he was being arrested, crawford struggled violently with officers leaving one with a serious injury. investigators say after the first arrest, they found new information that led them to crawford. robbery and first degree assault charges are being dropped for the man originally arrested in the case. however, he was also wanted on unrelated outstanding warrants

police did not release details on those. new at noon, a manchester man is behind bars after police say he exposed himself to some high school girls. police say 30-year-old jacob mobley-hall was arrested yesterday nearby a high school in lexington massachusetts. he is being charged with multiple counts of open and gross felony and exposing himself. he is a registered sex offender here in new hampshire. manchester first responders are speaking out about the drug crisis. record straight on the city's heroin epidemic." the letter said, "it serves no one to make false claims about the problem or proposed solutions in the political arena." it later went on to say "despite political claims that crime has risen 19% in manchester, the truth is that the latest statistics show crime has dropped by 22% over the same period one year ago." the letter also stated that

progress in the drug crisis, citing the recent success of the safe station program. north korea claims to have succesfully tested its fifth and potentially most powerful nuclear warhead. the blast registered as a 3.5 -- a magnitude five earthquake. abc's marci gonzalez has more as world leaders are speaking out. marci: what is believed to be its biggest nuclear test yet. state tv announcing the powerful explosion that caused a magnitude 5 tremor. this as the north continues testing ballistic missil with an increasing range, saying their goal is to miniaturize a nuclear warhead and place it on a missile capable of reaching the u.s. while they don't have that capability yet, tests like this raise serious concern. >> north korea's programs will continue to grow. their range of their missiles will continue to extend, unless the united states and the international community take steps to negotiate a freeze with

marci: president obama briefed on the test, which was about 10 times more powerful than north korea's first test in 2006. the president calling it a grave threat to regional security and to international peace and stability. as other world leaders join in strongly condemning pyongyang's nuclear efforts. secretary kerry: obviously, japan and south korea particularly are deeply concerned because of the neighborhood, but i think it's fair to say that china and everybody here is concerned. marci: the test will likely lead to a push at the united nations for stronger sanctions, though north korea is already one of the most heavily sanctioned countries in the world. marci gonzalez, abc news, new york. kristen: our granite state debates continue tonight. the last debate before the primary will be the republican candidates for the first congressional district. watch it live starting at 7:00

once the clouds clear, temperatures jumping up quickly. low 80's in the north country. we have jumped from the mid-80's to upper 80's and there will be quite a few locations at just around 90 degrees by 4:00 this afternoon. a few spots even around 92 and possibly 93. a little bit of a drying west and northwesterly breeze. dropping the humidity levels to a refreshing type of field out there. 60's this afternoon. a lot in the way of 70-plus -degree dew points, which helps a little. fair skies for the afternoon and evening tonight. there is a warm front and a cool front with the next area of low pressure and both of those will provide a chance of passing showers were a thunderstorm. temperatures just about statewide in the 80's.

of last hour. you are thinking maybe a record high this afternoon. probably not. both records for concord and portsmouth with the records going back decades and 95 this afternoon. dew points still in the low to mid to upper 60's. 70 is to the ocean is expected. dew points hovering around the 60's. the index from the mid-80's to the lower range of the temperatures running 5, 10-plus degrees warmer than yesterday at this time. slower start thanks to the clouds before the sunshine came out. this is the last of really hot days. we will cool temperatures off by a solid 10 degrees in going forward into sunday. we will have to wait on the next cool front to arrive saturday evening to see a drop in the humidity and the dew points in the 60's. that is likely where we start
