republican rich aashooh conceded the first congressional district race to incumbent frank guinta. ray brewer was there for the breakfast. ray, any evidence of hard feelings? ray: there was evidence that some time may be necessary to forgive and et times if he was supporting his opponent frank guinta. ashooh would only say he was supporting the ticket. governor christie: the stakes of the presidency will ride on what happens in new hampshire. the majority of the united states senate may very well ride on what happens here in new hampshire. ray: former presidential candidate new jersey governor chris christie told republicans that the future of our country for the next 4 years will depend on what happens in new hampshire come election day. christie was the first to

christie dropped his own presidential bid, and says the time has come for all republicans to unite. governor christie: if you are not working for donald trump over the next 55 days you are working for hillary clinton. there's no choice. ray: christie spoke at the republican unity breakfast, where winners and losers from the primary gathered pledging to work together for victory in november. one of the winners from tuesday's primary, incumbent senator kelly ayotte, is locked in a tight race with governor differences between them, including national security, saying hassan supports obama's foreign policy. sen. ayotte: supporting things like this flawed iran agreement are not going to keep us safe when they are the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world and they continue to make our country less safe and they continue to take unfortunately americans hostages. ray: the republican race for governor was a tight one with executive councilor chris sununu holding a slight edge.

isn't it time that the voters in the second congressional district in new hampshire had a representative that would stand up for them? ray: republicans currently control the new hampshire house, senate, and executive council. republicans were told to make sure that doesn't change to move the straightforward. ray brewer, wmur news 9. amy:ve governor remains up in the air, democrats are wasting no time going on the attack. ray buckley and kathy sullivan held a news conference in manchester taking aim at likely nominee chris sununu. while he was one of the more moderate candidates in his primary, democrats say he will campaign as an out of touch exhibits. ms. sullivan: he will try to

he's charlie baker of massachusetts, but if he is ever elected governor of new hampshire he will govern like paul lepage of maine. amy: the last granite state poll shows three quarters of voters still don't know who he is. republican rich ashooh conceded the first congressional district race to incumbent frank guinta earlier this morning. they were locked in a very close race with just a percentage point separating the two candidates. guinta will face democratic challenger carol shea-porter in off for the seat. and after two bids for the second district congressional district nomination, republican jim lawrence was declared the winner. is -- he is america's first african-american nominee for the states five political offices. he claimed victory after taking 40% of the vote, compared to 28% for jack flanagan. lawrence will be taking on incumbent congresswoman annie kuster in november. incumbent senator kelly ayotte

fronts that come through go from late summer to the taste of fall in the air. we are in the low to mid 60's in parts of the north country. clouds and occasional showers. in southern areas have jumped to the low to mid 80's. scattered showers up north and the potential of a couple thunderstorms for southern areas of the state as the afternoon wears on. little bit of humidity that has been developin creeping about 60 degrees in several locations. there will be widely scattered storms along this broken line of showers. the big change behind it will be even cooler air that we had earlier this week. all the details with the forecast in a few minutes. amy: new this noon, the search is on for a robbery suspect. police say a man entered the bank of america branch on hooksett road at around 9:30 this morning. he approached the teller with a note demanding money.

hair and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the words "stark brewing co." on the left chest. >> he left on foot and bank surveillance shows him heading towards oak street. silver vehicle, no other description at this time. amy: anyone who may recognize this man is asked to contact the manchester police department. also, fire crews respond to a gas leak run the motor speedway. her propane tank leaked your the grandstand. police say the scene is now under control. a judge has reduced bail for a former custodian accused of sexually assaulting girls at a northfield community center. 73-year-old robert magoon was being held on $150,000 cash bail. today a judge reduced his bail to $10,000 cash. magoon faces 13 counts of aggravated felonius sexual assault. a 21-year-old man from alaska drowned in the connecticut river. emergency crews searched the river in cornish last night for

and a half later. police say mcwilliams was an americorps volunteer working at saint gaudens national park. a deadly crash on route 16 in ossipee is under investigation. state police say a pickup truck was heading north in the area of deer cap campground when it crossed the center line and slammed head-on into a car. it side-swiped another truck. the driver of ossipee, was killed. a passenger, 67-year-old gary baumann, suffered life threatening injuries. lavalley farms is asking for your help in tracking down a thief. the operators of the farm say a large amount of produce was stolen from a field on bow lane in pembroke. they say the thief made off with corn, swiss chard, cucumbers, and tomatoes on monday. anyone with information is asked to contact pembroke police. coming up, it's one of the biggest takeovers so far this year. bayer clinches monsanto in an

amy: new at noon, after months of negotiations, bayer is buying monsanto. the german drug and farm chemical company says it has signed a deal to acquire seed and weed killer company monsanto for $66 billion in cash. the deal is the biggest takeover announced so far this year. the city of orlando says its around the pulse nightclub. right now there's a chain link fence where people have hung banners and flowers but the city says the new fence will make it easier for people to pay their respects. work by local artists will be hung around the fence to honor the 49 people who died in the shooting back in june. officials say it will be installed sometime next week. right now tropical storm julia is dumping heavy rain on

coast. clouds and occasional shower activity in the north country. gradually weaving in a little more sunshine. in southern areas, quick jump into the mid-80s with the atmosphere in place. as we go through the afternoon, the same front will slide farther south and east. this f have a tremendous amount of oyster to work with -- moisture to work with, will have additional showers and 80 thunderstorms through the afternoon. -- maybe thunderstorms to the afternoon. we are not expecting widespread strong weather but there could be one or two of the northwest to southeast. they may have the potential for a couple of quick hitting downpours and wind gusts.

the northwest. the leading edge of the air mass in place as we round out the week temperatures in the mid-60's and even lower 60's up through colebrook and pittsburg . low to mid 80's and southern areas. function of a little bit more sunshine and the west and southwesterly breeze. the dew points continue to climb a degree here, a degree there. once you get to 60 come that is when you feel the humidity. outdoors for any length of time. just enough moisture in the air to create a couple of thunderstorms this afternoon. you can see the air mass overhead tomorrow. this one will be replaced. certainly much cooler. still a couple more showers for the north country and central areas this afternoon. coupled on the terms likely between 3:00 -- couple thunderstorms likely between 3:00 and 6:00. clearing skies, northwest winds

have been here before. tell us what you are putting together. kelsey: first i start with our very own pot roast. i get that with horseradish. get all the flavor in their. once the beef has started to cook down, add some nice fresh celery, carrots, onions. let that put before little bit and get those flavors in there. amy: chelsea, when i make this them, but you are -- kelsey: you want to keep it one pot. one-pot meal so all the flavors are in there. if you separate it, the flavors get lost. amy: you are the kitchen manager at the root 104 diner. kelsey: yes. amy: and this is a seasonal special, is that right? kelsey: the beef stew is a

if you can come in -- amy: famous for this pot roast? kelsey: i believe we are. nice and tender, very juicy. amy: beautiful. what comes next? kelsey: once your vegetables are cooked, add in all the seasonings -- parsley or egano, thyme. everybody loves garlic. give that a good stir. and then save the stock from the pot roast when we cook it. amy: that is a good tip, hold onto that stock. kelsey: all that good flavor. the cover on it and turn it on low and let it simmer. amy: boy, one-pot meal. kelsey: this is a finished product. nice, rich beef stew.
