some strong downpours are a welcome sight across new hampshire. chief meteorologist mike haddad here to give us a look at which towns got much-needed rain. >> we know the drought is extreme in southern parts of the state and that's where the picked up the most rain. take a look over the last six hours. steady rain moving out, but downpours popping up during the course of the afternoon. in terms of thete anywhere across a good part of central and southern new hampshire and the bright greens indicate the rainfall tallies somewhere between one and three inchesover it. so -- inches of it. notice on doppler radar, there are still a few lingering showers. coming up, we'll look at specific towns in terms of how much rain we got. >> tonight, the department of agriculture is adding grafton

good portion of the summer. a look at numbers from yesterday, obviously those are not all that impressive. as we look at the other numbers from today, we are looking at the numbers anywhere from one to 3 inches or more. that's just today. manchester with a heavy downpour that rolled overhead just over three-tenths of an inch. when you put those two together, you can see the numbers between yesterday and today are adding up very nicely. those are wanting to see for some time. at least a good start. now let's look at the numbers from manchester and concord for the year. these are since january 1. 20.85 inches in concord and a lot less, 16.33 inches in manchester. you see the normal or average. you can see concord a little bit closer than manchester is for the average number for the entire year. but we are still way behind, at least some drops in the bucket

much lower on wednesday. we'll be into full sun tomorrow afternoon and more sun into the daylight hours of wednesday. overnight tonight, lower 60s. notice chicago at 86. st. louis at 87. yeah, we're going to be talking about at least low 80s too on wednesday, possibly in spots on thursday and even into friday. by the way, friday, the first full day of fall as fall officially arrives thursday morning a a few more showers to fall central-southern new hampshire. [inaudible]. low clouds linger through the morning commute, then sunshine, an isolated shower far north and full sunshine wednesday. sun giving way to clouds late thursday before the next front moves in friday. now, that front means business. temperatures at or above average in a big way right through the start of fall thursday and friday.
