in the head, police say, by another civilian. the protests started peacefully. it quickly turned chaosic. police firing back with flash grenades and tear gas. the governor has declared a state of emergency. anger is building here over two starkly they confronted him inside a apartment complex. >> he exited his vehicle armed with a handgun as the officers continued to yell at him to drop the weapon. reporter: his family says that's not true, and claim it wasn't a gun, it was a book. >>ow, pow, pow, pow. that's it. he had no gun. >> the book fell off of his lap. he didn't get out waving no gun. he didn't get out like that.

revived. someone inside the family dollar store recorded the scene in the toy aisle sunday morning after someone had already called 911. police say a mother from salem overdosed and in the video her 2-year-old dauger can be scene pulling on her arm and crying out trying to wake her mother. the lawrence police chief says he's disturbed that no one comforted the child or checked on the mother. he thinks the video would help save liv. fact that people can see first hand how debilitating and what the addiction causes. >> there's hope for that mother and hope for the child. there's resources out there. for when the woman is ready that will help her and her family. erin: the mother's name hasn't been released yet. she hadn't been charged. he will likely face a charge of child

rochester. the accident happened around 7:15 last night on washington street. police say 40-year-old gregory downing was on a motorcycle when he was hit by a car that was turning on to fareway avenue. the 17-year-old was issued a summons for failure to yield. a man from maine is scheduled to be sentenced tomorrow after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a young girl he knew while living in rochester. 44-year-old christopher will serve at least 25 years in jail for the assaults that date back to 2003. the victims mother say this has been very hard to get through. she hopes that her daughter can now move forward. >> i'm hoping that i see her grow five inches in every direction and finish her education and find some hobbies. erin: again a formal sentencing hearing will take place

for your help identifying a womanuspect of stealing a car and credit cards. police say these surveillance photos from walmart and t.j. maxx show a woman using the stolen cards. the victim says the cards were in her car when it was stolen for the parking lot, planet fitness in dover. they spotted the car and arrested the driver, 33-year-old michael page of raymond. he's now charged with receiving stolen property. the candia police department is asking the public clean following a rash of illegal dumping incidents. they say the items dumped includes tired, asbestos, roofing shingles, and household trash. anyone who sees someone dumping illegally is asked to contact the candia police department. erin: a school bus had to be towed away after slamming into a moose on i-93 last night. the accident happened just after 9:00 on the northbound side in sanbornton. state police are not saying if any students were on board.
