5:49 am
kevin: we start out with the wet highways. a front is making it through. by 8:00 or 9:00 the rainfall is done. clouds maybe more stubborn trying to clear out in south eastern areas last by late morning and into the early afternoon. from there, the start of an unsettled pattern for us out there starting later this evening with drizzle or patchy fog. mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers thursday into the weekend pretty much sums it up with temperatures in the 60's. each little bit different as far as higher rain chances versus lower ones and maybe some brighter skies up north. there's a look at rainfall. quick quarter to a half an inch as it slides eastward. while that moves fast, the upper level system will be moving rather slowly. if anything, starting to slide southward. that may start to drag up more moisture that's located off of the east coast down through the carolinas and start to scoop that over the next couple of days. all in all, we're
5:50 am
forward after this morning. it doesn't look like it is going to be tremendously beneficial. any rain is good, but we're not looking at any heavier downpours or all wash out kind of days that we could use as far as the drought is concerned. temperatures this morning running much warmer than we were yesterday at this time. we're in the 50's. there are a few upper 40's in some of the lower lying valleys and spots up north. we have clouds and showers which should start to groove -- sky. temperatures in the 60's to lower range of the 70's. clouds maybe more stubborn in extreme south eastern areas. notice the clouds sliding southwestward later tonight. a little bit of drizzle. tomorrow the clouds linger in southern areas of the state. there may be an additional passing shower or two. temperatures tomorrow much cooler, low to mid 60's. that looks to be the reality.
5:51 am
it will battle the pressure north. i think brighter skies up north in general starting tomorrow and continuing through the end of the week. in southern areas of the state, it will be on and off with scattered shower activity. which i think at least the chances there each of the next four or five days. not all of those days will we see rain as the upper level system lingering around over the next few. as far as today is concerned, we start off in the 50's. mid 60's to lower 70's this afternoon. most of the rainfall moves away by 8:00 or 9:00, setting upar sunshine for the remainder of the day. drizzle overnight. lows will drop back between 45 and 55. tomorrow there will be the chance of a shower. i don't think it looks like a wash out. neither do the next several days. we're not going to rule out the risk of a couple of showers. it does look like we could over the course of the next five or six days maybe see a half an inch to an inch. nothing drought busting. we could use the rain in
5:52 am
unsettled pattern in a long time. erin: we need some drought-busting rainstorms. winds left some ice at the top of mt. washington. these icy sculptures are the result of high winds blowing fog when it is cold enough for the moisture to freeze on contact. sean: you know what they say? rhyme ice is nice ice.
