jennifer: to commitment 2016 now and the first debate in new hampshire's high profile race for u.s. senate. senator kelly ayotte and governor maggie hassan faced off in conway this morning. wmur's kristen carosa was there for the first of their six planned matchups. reporter: the debate was roughly 90 minutes and covered several key issues, with just over four weeks away until the election polls have these two women at a dead heat. maggie hassan says this race is about whether n the state's priorities or one that will have her agenda shaped by corporate special interests. while ayotte says the election is about the future of the country and who can work together to get things done. several issues were covered including military spending, the affordable care act and the vacancy of the u.s. supreme court. the two candidates differed on several issues including balancing the budget and gun control, as well as the nuclear deal with iran.
