the roar of engines followed by a moment of silence. corey lafont's tell-tale blue mini cooper part of a parade of race cars that paused friday night to honor him. his mom behind the wheel. >> it's very overwhelming to see what everybody here has done for him. the track owners, all the racecar drivers and their families and crews. cherise: lafont's friday nights were spent here at the twin state speedway, the first friday since he's been gone. >> right here. it hurts, but it's what he would want. cherise: family and friends were decked out in the number 24, lafont's favorite. this tight-knit racing community still in shock. on the same day he was laid to rest, the attorney general's office released the name of the officer who shot lafont in the chest three times following some sort of altercation. as part of protocol, corporal ian kibbe has been taken out of line duty while the ag's office investigates.

of the claremont police department was the only officer on the scene when the shots were fired. while loved ones hope for more answers soon, friday night was all about the way lafont lived. >> it's a wonderful tribute to cody and how much he meant for everyone here. this was his home every friday night. cherise: here in claremont, there are no police body cam's or dashcams, so none of that was caught on video. eager for answers involving what happened. shelley: new tonight, police in california have just released videos of the deadly police shooting of an unarmed black man. the videos shows the moments before an officer shots alfred olango, after he took what police described as a shooting stance and pointed what officers thought was a weapon, which actually turned out to be a smoking device. the videos were released after three nights of violent protests. according to a report released today by the attorney general's

state representative kyle tasker use marijuana at the state house, but it says he also sold it to fellow lawmakers. wmur's mike cronin joins us live to explain the allegations made in that report. mike: shelley, tasker has pled not guilty to several felony charges. this report says no further criminal charges will be brought against tasker, and no charges will be made against the lawmakers named. five elected leaders are named in the attorney general's report, but it says none will evidence is insufficient to prosecute them. in march, kyle tasker was arrested for online solicitation of a minor and possession with intent to distribute controlled drugs. wmur first reported that evidence found at his home showed he had sold drugs to other members of the house. >> i'm just really, really concerned about it. i think it is deeply concerning that any elected official would engage in this kind of behavior, and i think the voters should

says pamela tucker of greenland, the former deputy speaker of the house, bought marijuana once and marijuana elixir on another occasion. the report says she told investigators they were for medicinal reasons. joseph lachance of manchester allegedly bought marijuana from tasker several times to treat his ptsd, and brought friends to do the same. the report says amanda bouldin, also of manchester, used potwi recalled a conversation about a big drug purchase he made in lancaster. investigators say sanbornville representative ted wright bought marijuana to help his wife's battle with breast cancer. and plaistow representative shem kellogg was named, but he died of cancer in june and was never interviewed. the house speaker and governor are confident voters will have their say in november.

office, and this is a very serious transgression, and i'm very deeply concerned about it, and i hope the voters will take this very seriously. mike: the lawyer for state representative amanda bouldin says, in part, amanda did not buy drugs from tasker. in fact, she never even inquired about buying drugs from tasker, not once. the other lawmakers did not respond to our requests for comment. medical marijuana is now legal in new hampshire, as long as it's obtained through a dispensary. shelley: mike, turning our attention to weather. it's raining out there. a live look in windham, where it has been raining steadily. 52 degrees. meteorologist hayley lapoint is here now to let us know if the rain is sticking around. hayley: it is. as we head into the weekend, we will have scattered showers moving through. already, they are moving through southern portions of the state and continuing to move north. you can see it on the radar.

to the tropics, because just and, we now have a category 5 hurricane in the atlantic. you see matthew there, at 160 mile-per-hour winds. it is now officially category 5. we have not have one of those in the atlantic, at least in the last season or so. it will be continuing to move up to the north. it will impact jamaica and cuba, and eventually possibly the united states. i will let more of the extended forest the mother presumed dead after going missing with her son during a fishing trip. investigators were seen removing multiple items from linda carman's connecticut home last night. her son nathan was rescued after a week in a life raft near martha's vineyard. investigators have searched his home as well. coming up on newsnight tonight, leaving the team. -- leading the team. the outpouring of support one high school football team is

new recruit. >> our kids have adopted him as one of our brothers, so it's really cool. >> one team. >> one mission. jean: seven-year-old max is a force to reckon with on and off the field. his family says he's battling leukemia like a superhero. so inspiring, he was invited to lead the team as childhood cancer awareness month wraps up. tremendous amount in the last few months, so to have everybody come out and support him and be aware of childhood cancer awareness is amazing. jean: max helped with the coin toss center field, posed for team pictures, and rallied his teammates as they took the field. >> they took us in his family. we are going to take this night

souvenirs. shelley: and we are all wishing maxwell. -- max well. and you can help max's family at a fundraiser tomorrow at reeds ferry school in merrimack. wmur meteorologist kevin skarupa will be at the raise a paddle for max auction. that starts tomorrow at 3:00. hayley: today started out with sunshine. you can see we lost son early on as clouds started to increase. our next room system is about to move in, and already we're seeing rain showers in southern new hampshire. you can see light to moderate rainfall, especially in the monadnock region, and from manchester along group 101, certainly over erie bank manchester. probably pouring wherever you see the dark shades of green. this is continuing to move from the south to the north.

the winds around low pressure moves in a counterclockwise motion. that's why we have this conveyor belt of moisture over the next 24 hours or so. even sunday, we do run the risk of seeing these showers continue. it is not a washout. if you have plans, don't cancel, but be prepared for watch weather. just an overall kind of dismal, murky field. you see scattered showers early tomorrow if the kids have an early morning soccer game for football practice, be prepared for the wet weather. that likely continues into the afternoon. though there will be some dry times, too. it's not going to be consistently raining. that will be especially true on sunday. it looks like the dryer of the two weekend days, where we will have scattered showers and a little drizzle. monday, we will have improvement with drying out conditions.

need this rain, although the timing not be great -- timing may not be great. up to an inch of rain falling some of the lucky areas. tonight, cloudy skies, rain moving from the south to the north. rain areas in the 40's, and the southern areas more like the 50's. tomorrow, we don't get out of the 50's because of this school air mass on top of us. the wind will still be out of e ocean, so that will keep temperatures much cooler. got to take you down to the caribbean, because this is where the big story is. we had a category five hurricane, the strongest they come on the scale. you can see hurricane matthew with 160 mile-per-hour winds. here is aruba, right here. you can see the storm's outer bands there. otherwise, it is basically over open water.

very open water, and it will continue to maintain its strength, maybe go down to a category 4, but it will head to jamaica, cause huge issues there undoubtedly, and continuing to the eastern side of cuba. then, it becomes questionable. could it head toward florida, or right of the host -- write up the coast? something that needs to be watched closely. post or to home, scattered showers and temperatures -- showers and temperatures -- closer to home, scattered 50's. monday afternoon into tuesday, that's when temperatures warm up a little bit, back into the 60's. feeling like october, too. shelley: we are going to turn it over to jason now. jason: can you believe it's october?

merrimack, justin grassini hits joe eichman over the middle. joe makes a few tacklers miss and turns it into an 46-yard gain. that led to his own five-yard td run. 7-0, merrimack in front. first play from scrimmage on their next drive, grassini lobs one down the sideline. justin weiser runs under it for a 57-yard touchdown. after just six plays from scrimmage for merrimack, they led 14-0. grassini completed 28 passes for this was a big collection site for new hampshire tackles hunger. blue devils complete a pass here, soldano to joshua maroun, but check out the huge hit by deneill. it was a tough night for salem. eichman scored three times. merrimack wins 39-20. both teams now 4-1 this season. ? jason: bedford put their perfect record on the line in derry. 21-6 bedford to start the second half. pinkerton tries the onside kick,
