like we do. >> we begin with hurricane matthew. the eye of the storm has made landfall over cuba. this is haiti and the dominican republic as they begin to clean up. good evening. tom: i'm tom griffith. as hurricane matthew barrels north, southern states are preparing as fema is deploying personnel to several states. the storm could make landfall in a hurricane watch has been issued for the sunshine state. with winds reaching 145 miles per hour, florida governor rick scott is telling people to prepare for the worse and not to take hurricane matthew lightly. >> if matthew directly hits florida there will be massive destruction that we haven't seen in years. >> this is nothing something that we want to play with. and the other thing i would tell everyone is if you don't get out in time, you might actually get

the coast and have no place to go because you didn't meet the evacuation time. chris: -- >> and in south carolina, the governor just issued a state of emergency. governor nikki haley is planning to issue an evacuation order tomorrow to give one million people time to safely leave. let's now take a look at the latest track of hurricane matthew. chief meteorologist mike haddad has been following it closely and joins us now. chris: mike: chris: we have been tracking the trends over the 12 hours s east. what does that mean? sustained winds have come down to 140 miles per hour. it is at the minimal criteria for a 4 storm.
