shelley: hurricane matthew could make landfall by the morning. millions are under evacuation orders tonight along the atlantic coast in florida, georgia and south carolina. terri parker with our sister station wbpf is in west palm beach, florida tonight. terri: really high wind, about 55 miles from our, driving rain, horizontal. we are still feeling the effects of it. you the palm trees are lashing back and forth in the wind. we're getting some more rain.

as hurricane matthew churns its way north. luckily not hitting an impact in this part of palm beach county as much as originally forecasted because matthew took that turned to the north and stayed a little off our coast. but he was just off our coast about 70 miles away. we are still feeling the rain, the wind, the dust. luckily not as bad and we probably will not get as much damage in this part of palm beach county as originally anticipated. still, nothing to take lightly. we've seen a lot of transformers blow. then got to be thousands of people now -- last i heard was 48 thousand people in palm beach county without power.

reporters in florida working so hard area new details tonight in the investigation of last week's deadly train crash in new jersey. sheltom: investigators say the n was going 21 miles per hour, . that's more than twice the speed limit of 10 miles per hour. the ntsb also says the engineer hit the emergency brake less than one second before the crash. one person was killed and more than 100 were hurt. the final investigation report could taor shelley: claremont police are looking for two suspects and -- in two burglaries. surveillance shows someone breaking into the store and stealing cigarettes. later in the morning, police also responded to a burglary at the head start. authorities say these incidents could be related. anyone with information should call police. shelley: a car fire on the mount washington auto road stranded hundreds of visitors. check out this picture, state park officials say it happened

edge of the center of the strongest wind. approaching savannah, georgia by early tomorrow evening. a big trough in the atmosphere kicking off a cold front to the west helps steer the storm to east, away from the carolinas sometime saturday afternoon. notice what happens to the track after that. the jet stream will help steer this thing down to the then it wobbles in place, possibly back through the northern bahamas and even back through seven florida. the by then, notice the wind, down to 45 miles per hour. so if that does happen, not newly the effects we could see with a purple -- a possible hurricane. hurricane force winds are just off shore with a track just east of the coast. that's were the heaviest wind will hit here in so right at the beaches, 74 miles an hour or stronger.
