like we do. now, wmur nine news tonight. cherise: donald trump and hillary clinton just left the debate stage in st. louis after a heated debate from top -- on topics including isis and health care. it did not take long for moderators to question donald trump about the controversial video of him making lewd comments about women in 2005. with highlights from tonight. nikole: the mudslinging reached a new level. they did not even shake hands. one of the most anticipated topics of the night, donald trump's treatment of women after the release of a decades-old day. >> i am not proud of it. i apologize. nikole: hillary clinton pounced.

and 114. details are limited but police have confirmed that one person was killed in the crash. let us show you some video from the scene. you can see how bad the damages. the cars are mangled. sometime after 6:00 tonight, police say four cars collided. one was driving east and the other three were driving west. two of the cars have new hampshire license plates, the other to have maine accident. one of the victims was killed. to have been transported to the hospital. it is possible that overnight tonight, route 202 could be closed for several more hours. stay with us and we will keep you posted on the latest information as we receive it. cherise: tonight, the death toll from hurricane matthew is

southeastern new hampshire. this was a little bit of help. maybe some of us got an inch. we will take what we can get. a few scattered showers right by the seacoast but almost everyone else is drying out and clearing up because the clouds are moving away. here is what is left of matthew. it is moving up into the canadian maritimes. temperatures are cooling quickly because of the clearing taking place. 30's and 40's overnight tonight. high temperatures in the 50's and breezy also. i will show you more of the extended forecast. cherise: two people are dead after a fiery crash last night in nashua. state police say the driver of a nissan maxima was driving fast on the circumferential highway and lost control of the car while driving on the off ramp. it launched over a ramp and

the merrimack river bridge and immediately bursting into flames. the driver and a passenger were killed in the crash. >> it appears that speed was the main factor in this collision. if the person had just taken the corner at a reasonable speed, this would not have happened. cherise: the victims names are not being released. five teenagers are dead after a wrong way crash in vermont. police say a driver was going the when they hit that car with the five teens inside. officers say when a police officer left his cruiser at the scene, a sus stole the car and started driving away. that driver caused another crash hitting a cars. a local family is still looking for whoever killed 53-year-old lynne brennan. she was killed six years ago and for her sons there are still so many questions. but tonight, they celebrate her

looked like a party and that is exactly how lynne brennan's sons of wanted to honor their mom sunday night. >> we are celebrating her life. and everything she loved including music and rock 'n roll. cherise: her sons were playing music using the gift of music that their mother instilled in them. it has taken them a long time to get to a place of healing. >> it is something we think about every day. cherise: their killed six years ago in 2010. she was found dead inside her apartment on river road in manchester. what followed has been six years of tormenting years. no arrests and no answers. she was going through a divorce at the time of the murder and had only been living in the apartment a few months. her sons say they still know little about the investigation and that is what keeps pushing them.

can help and be a part of that new energy future, they want to be a part of it and they want clean energy. adam: but for most, home generation remains out of reach. even for the government, major investment in wind and solar is not cheap. >> if you want to get less carbon dioxide, it will cost you or money. we have to accept that reality. for wind and solar improve, the grid needs natural gas to meet peak demand. >> you cannot rely on the weather to give you the energy production you need. adam: the help is that new england never has to face inter induced energy blackouts.

>> meteorologist hayley lapoint. hayley: did you see this? the sunset was fiery. it looked kind of eery. we had clouds clearing to the west and as the sun came low on the horizon, it met up with those clouds and the rain and that is what makes those cool colors. interesting. look at the rain we got today. in some locations, we got close to one inch. in newington, just under an inch. in auburn, .83 inches. and just over half an inch in hudson. this was welcomed rain though we did not expect the intensity. we will take it. especially in the hard-hit

dent in the drought. nowhere close. look at what manchester got today, just over half an inch. compare that to what we still need, over 16 inches. we need days and days of what we got today to make a dent in the drought. we need a pattern change and that is not going to happen. we are back to dry weather after today. you can see the clearg the state to the east. rain showers are done. moving off the coast. matthew interacted with a cold front that moved across new england overnight and that pulled up some moisture from matthew and pulled it up into new england. that is why we had heavier rain than expected. and it did fall in the good areas. there is another storm brewing.

hurricane. it looks like it will move north and east without impact on land. this is good. we need time to recover especially in the southeastern part of the u.s. after matthew. temperatures are really cooling down. i expect northern and western new hampshire to be the coolest spots tonight. many of you will fall into the 30's. concord may get close to that also, 38 degrees. clouds, showers -- they are all moving away. tomorrow morning, bright sunshine. a breezy day tomorrow as the northwest winds pick up behind the frontal boundary. bright and sunny. perfect to do fall like activities if you have the day off. tomorrow night, a cold night.
