thanks for waking up with us. i'm erin fehlau. we had a lot of rain out thee yesterday. looks like the sun is going to be out today. kevin: those the kind of rainfall we need. today, a completely different scenario for us as we are expecting a good deal of sunshine. we have some extra clouds early this morning, but that should give way to sunshine. temperatures today are going to cover in the 50's. over 20 miles per hour. that will add some extra tight to the air. we will have the coldest night we've had so far this season later on this evening. we'll have much more on that. let's take a look at the morning ride it. deb: we do have some problems in stoddard. route nine is closed at juniper

other than that, no overnight roadwork. all traffic is moving well through the state area if you're heading into massachusetts, everything looks great and from the traffic network, i'm deb davidson for 95.7. seerin: the elections are just four weeks from tomorrow, and the mudslinging in the presidential race seems to b faced off for their second debate last night, and the attacks started right from the beginning. the candidates didn't even shake hands to start the debate. abc's angelica spanos has highlights from the town hall style debate that also featured questions from the audience. angelica: the battle between hillary clinton and donald trump was full of drama from the start, they didnt even shake hands. >> this was locker room talk.

>> having been a former prosecutor and in my prior position as attorney general working with victims of domestic violence and sexual crime and issues i worked on in the senate, i think those statements are fundamentally talking about assault. erin: ayotte says she will write in trump's running mate, indiana governor mike pence for president. hassan says people should hold her accountable for that. one person is dead and several others are recovering this morning r several vehicles on route 202 in henniker last night. that crash shut down the road for hours with police remaining on scene into early this morning. wmur's ray brewer is live in henniker this morning to explain what happened. ray: police are not releasing many details yet, but they have told us that one person died, two others were taken to the hospital, and another two were treated at the scene. investigators say a total of four vehicles were involved in this crash after 6:00 last

the other three were all going west along route 202 when the crash happened at the split with route 114. the crash was so violent that some of the vehicles lost their wheels. one of the vehicles was pulled a camper and only two of the vehicles had new hampshire plates. the others were from maine and new york. right now it is not clear what caused the crash. route 202 was closed for nearly eight hours, but is back to normal now. we hope to learn more details later this morning. reporting live in henniker, ray brewer, wmur news 9. new on daybreak, police are working to identify many of the people involved in a massive crowd in plymouth. police were called to pleasant street yesterday afternoon after residents reported a crowd of about 300 college students in their yard without permission. when officers showed up, they say the students then gathered on winter street and refused to leave for nearly two hours. four people have already been charged mostly with disorderly conduct, and police say more charges are possible based on

two people are now facing charges in connection with a deadly home invasion in massachusetts. 23-year-old joshua hart and 27-year-old brittany smith were arrested yesterday in virginia. they now face a list of charges including murder. police say they killed a 95-year-old man during a home invasion in the town of orange last wednesday, and severely injured his 77 year old wife. investigators have recovered the victim's stolen car. so far, there is no word as to a possible motive. big changes are coming this week to the sarah long bridge between portsmouth and kittery. crews are planning to remove the lift span on friday and float it away as part of the bridge replacement project. saturday is the backup day. because of the work, the navigational channel on the river will be closed all week starting today. the new bridge is expected to open next september. still ahead, honoring members of the military. the special deal and celebration

take over in parts of haiti as rescue efforts ramp up after hurricane matthew devastated the impoverished country. helicopters are dropping food and supplies but on the ground some convoys have been attacked by gunmen because the trucks are heading to other communities. hundreds of people died in haiti and tens oou still don't have a firm grasp on the extent of the disaster because some areas remain cut off. meanwhile, matthew is blamed for at least 18 deaths here in the u.s. most were swept away by floodwaters and the governor of north carolina says that number could rise. flood waters are still rising this morning and another town in north carlina was evacuated last night. more than a million people are without power and early estimates show insurance losses

it seems movie goers this weekend were looking for some mind games. the new psychological thriller "the girl on the train" took in almost $25 million to take the top spot at the box office. the movie stars emily blunt as an alcoholic who gets involved in a murder mystery. two thirds of the audience was women. last week's top movie "miss peregrine's home for peculiar children" fell to second. story just keeps on swimming. the movie just reached the $1 billion mark in global box office receipts, just the 27th movie to reach that milestone. it is the biggest movie of the year domestically and the seventh biggest ever. samsung says it's adjusting the production schedule for the galaxy note 7, but will not

eight hours. erin: thank you. a violent crash in vermont left five teenagers dead and several others injured. 36-year-old was going to wrong way on 89 saturday when he had a car with five teenagers inside. when a police officer his cruiser at the scene, he stole that vehicle and started to drive away. he had sevene investigation. it has been six years since when brennan was found dead in her manchester apartment. no arrests have ever been made. last night, her family gathered to celebrate her life. they shared stories about her life. she was going through a divorce at the time of the murder and had only been living in the apartment a few months.
