state trooper saw a blue toyota rav4 speeding eastward. >> the trooper tried to catch up to the vehicle to stop it, but the vehicle was traveling so fast that it got out of his sight quickly. so he radioed ahead, the hillsboro police department subsequently saw the vehicle too. reporter: a hillsboro officer pursued the vehicle for a short time trying to get the driver to pull over, but eventually broke off the chase becauf speed. authorities say it wasn't long before calls began coming in about a crash. >> apparently the operator of the s.u.v. had lost control of the vehicle and struck three other vehicles in the process. reporter: police say the driver of the s.u.v. was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. the drivers and passengers in the other vehicles were not seriously hurt. police say their investigation will continue. >> we have no idea at this point

parts of the monadnock region and the upper valley. as for northern new hampshire you'll be well below freezing, down near 20 athrong canadian border but no advisory because you've already seen the first kill freeze or the only killing freeze of the season. as for temperatures right now, 40's north, 50's south, but in the lower range of the fifth and with the northwesterly win it feels cooler. we've seen gusts 30 to 35 today, but the wind will shut down and with clear skies tumble. on average mid 20's north. but on the canadian border lower 20's, right around freezing for many. then downtown manchester and alon the coast, mid 30's by early tomorrow morning. but we've got high pressure building in, that means sunny skies for the day tomorrow, more sun wednesday. a good part of the next several days will be rain-free. you know the story about the drought, we've got beneficial rain in spots yesterday, but none out there for tomorrow.
