: what happened. jean it all started monday : afternoon right here at the market basket on elm street in manchester in broad daylight. and ended here inside this cemetery just a few blocks away not enough to scare off the good samaritan who was chasing a purse snatch her. >> i really didn't think about it she was yelling help. jean we're protecting the full : identity of this 5 foot tall manchester mother. who jumped into action when she saw an 84-year-old woman targeted as she left market bask. >> i saw this little old lady with her pocketbook in the front of the carriage and this guy just comes running and grabs it right in front of me and i was like oh my gosh is this really happening? jean she ran after the thief as : he ran out of the parking lot and into the valley cemetery. >> so i call 911 and i'm running and i'm following him as i'm talking to the dispatcher

cemetery, but the purse snatch her got away. they described him as a slender white man, late 20's or early 30's, wearing a black fleece jacket, dark jeans, and a black hat with yellow lettering. it turns out there was more than one good the marriage the grocery store. >> suddenly, she started yelling he got my purse, stop him, stop him, stop him. jean roger kidder gave chase in : his car. >>au jean the purse snatcher might : have slipped away but he dropped the wallet. the cash was gone, but the important cards were returned to a grateful senior citizen. >> i found the wallet on the ground so i picked it up and i just ran right back to her she was like oh my gosh thank you so much. 58:51 jean police caution good : samaritans to stay safe don't give chase, instead give them a call they want to be the ones to catch the criminals.

tom: tonight, nashua police say investigating four different robberies that happened over the last 6 days. police say a man robbed a speedway on east hollis street and a dunkin donuts on the daniel webster highway this morning. the suspect appeared to be armed and left the dunkin donuts in a light colored sedan. the police are looking into two similar robberies that happened at two subway restaurants on october fifth and tenth. looking for a man who is suspected of robbing a t.d. bank this morning. police say one man walked into the bank shortly after 9:30 and passed a note to the teller demanding money. the man claimed to have a weapon in the note but never showed one. he's described as a white man in his 20's to early 30's, about 6-feet tall with brown eyes. tom in commitment 2016, the : final stretch of the election year is approaching. in four weeks, voters will be going to the polls to choose america's next president, along with many other local new hampshire races. wmur's mike cronin joins us live how some voters are feeling with

the state's governor is now warning residents to make safe choices. >> i cannot stress more that if you see a road that is flooded, do not take your car through that road. if you see a barrier, do not go around that barrier. >> the governor also says those who live near rivers, streams and levees should expect more flooding this week. earlier tonight, president obama declared a major disaster in south carolina. now hurricane matthew hit the island nation of haiti the hardest. more than 500 people are feared dead as the country now fights a possible cholera outbreak. and a plea tonight from one new hampshire doctor who has dedicated part of her life to helping the people of haiti. she does humanitarian work on the island in the same city that sustained the greatest death toll and damage from the category 4 storm. >> in the coastal haitian city of jeremie, lives have been splintered by the devastating

new hampshire, one doctor wants to help, dr. janet perkins howland sits on the board of the haitian health foundation. it's a charitable organization based in connecticut, dedicated to providing medical and dental care to the people of haiti. the group had been working in jeremie when hurricane matthew blew through, destroying nearly everything. >> to think that most of the majority of the folks there are now homeless is really a horrible thing to think about. >> the dover doctor was in jeremie just a month ago. her 17-year-old daughter jenna is still there on a humanitarian mission when the hurricane blew threw. >> one of her neighbors had her house roof blown off, so the neighbor came to stay with her, and they sort of hunkered down

>> thank you very much. i appreciate that. josh a warm welcome for maggie : hassan inside baked restaurant in manchester. but right away the manager expressed concern about young people fleeing the state. what kind of resolution would you have? >> one thing that we know is one of the reasons we are losing young people is because of the cost of higher education. we hear that a lot. we were able to freeze tuition in-state at the university for two years and lower at our we were also able to do things to make the overall price of a bachelors degree more affordable for young people. we also want to help young people with things like rail. they want public transportation and they want to be able to live and work in the same area. josh another employee went top : of the ticket with her question, and hassan gladly defended hillary clinton's record when it comes to kids.
