good afternoon. i'm sean mcdonald. this all began this morning after police say to receive reports of shots fired. wmur's andy hershberger is live in candia. andy: police say they were responding to reports of a distraught woman. 12-year-old was reportedly inside. there was report of shots fired to safely leave the residence and police surrounded the house. after about three hours, police say they took a 45-year-old into custody. police say she surrendered peacefully. no charges have been filed yet, according to police. authorities say everyone including law enforcement is ok. >> no injuries involved by civilians or law enforcement in

circumstances involved. andy: police say at this point any shots fired do not appear to have been directed at anyone. police say they are continuing to investigate reporting live in candia, andy hershberger, wmur news 9. sean: all right, thanks. we following something else breaking this hour. state police say interstate 89 southbound in grantham is closed because of a tractor-trailer rollover near exit 13. at this time there is a detour exit 14 onto route 113 to route 12-a and then back onto i-89. be aware of that if you are heading through that area. we are also following a developing investigation this noon. new durham police are asking the public to be on the lookout after a sixth grader reported that a vehicle has followed him home twice. police have only a vague description of the suv and the driver. wmur's ray brewer is live outside the new durham police

right? ray: that's correct, sean. in this latest incident, police say the boy stepped off to the side of the road to allow the vehicle to pass. instead, the driver slowed down following the boy to his house. >> it's a little scary. ray: especially if you're an 11-year-old boy walking home from the bus stop. the first incident happened on october 5. >> when the juvenile observed a home from the school bus. ray: then 9 days later again at the intersection of old bay and drew roads, the boy saw the suv again. >> the vehicle followed him back to his residence and actually pulled into his driveway, where the juvenile ran into his house. ray: the boy described the vehicle as an older model silver or gray gmc, possibly a yukon or suburban. unfortunately the child was

driver engaged in some other troubling behavior. >> the driver pulled the hoodie that he was wearing up around his face so his face could not be seen by the juvenile. >> i thought, oh my god, that's right across the street from my house. ray: donna steadman read about the incidents on the new durham police facebook page. now she's planning on being home when the school bus drops the boy off. >> he's the only little boy that gets off the school bus right there and i just noticed it. there and i just noticed it. i'll keep an eye out. additional patrols in the area, and now this is definitely a neighborhood that is on alert. mark dentremont says he's home 90% of the time. >> if i'm here and the bus is there and i can see out that window i'll be looking out that window is not on my back porch ready for anything. ray: police say there haven't been any similar reports from surrounding towns, but they are -- now it is matter of getting the word out. they are notifying the school district amongst others to be on

assisting 3 adults and 3 kids who have been displaced. a manchester man faces multiple felony charges after police say he stole several items from a house and then pawned them. 59-year-old robert hurst was arrested and charged with theft by deception and possession of stolen property. police say the items were pawned at different locations in manchester. a drug bust in manchester landed a suspected dealer behind bars. police say luis ramos torres was arrested on friday following a avenue. investigators seized a loaded gun, six grams of cocaine, and 5 grams of heroin. ramos torres is now charged with selling both heroin and cocaine. now let's take a look at your weather. it's been a tale of two different temperatures. parts of the south of the state have are bit chilly in the low -- have been a bit chilly in the low 60's and 50's but areas north are embracing the 70's. let's toss it over to kevin.

sean: right now, iraqi kurdish fighters say they have secured at least 20 villages from the islamic state stronghold as the battle for mosul has entered day 2. the u.n. says it is preparing for a mass exodus of people fleeing iraq's largest city any minute now. alex: we have not seen anything like those numbers yet. we are starting to hear reports that people are coming out of mosul to escape the fighting. the u.n. and other aid agencies have set up emergency cans to take the people in.

out of mosul. sean: right now conflicting information out of syria after airstrikes were supposed to be halted in the city of aleppo. the halt from russian and syrian airstrikes was supposed to allow wounded as well as certain rebels to leave the city. syrian activists say warplanes obstruct 2 rebel held village -- have struck 2 rebel held villages in northern aleppo province. condemned by other countries including the united states. president obama is hosting his final official visit and preparing for his last state dinner while he is in office. the president and first lady welcomed italy's prime minister matteo renzi and his wife to the white house today, saying they saved the best for last. the dinner will take place on the south lawn and feature a performance by gwen stefani. and a menu by mario battali. cool stuff.

notice future cast really trying to release these clowns. this is what we look at on a lot of the maps as far as timing is concerned. i don't know if it is going to be quite as aggressive as this moving through it is certainly potential there in some western and southwestern areas to see a few breaks in the overcast. you could see it quick 10-12-agree jump. a lot more stubborn on the shoreline in eastern areas. front comes through tonight and there could be a stray in the mid to upper 60's open austan mid-seventies in southern spots. that is the full sunshine tomorrow afternoon. notice more clouds racing in this afternoon. -- thursday afternoon. there could be a couple of downpours involved eventually as well.

or they have diseased spots. get the best leaves you possibly can. and what we do is 2 separate activities. one of them is using a clear -- it goes on white and then it dries clear to preserve those leaves. let it dry. they become something you can use for decoration for the holiday season. ray: is this a smelly process, something i want to do outdoors? it has a bit of a sense but not that it needs to be aerated. the second activity is drying the leaf in the mark waste. take is nice, vibrant colored leaves and put them in between paper towels. put them in the mark away from 430 seconds. you want to monitor them. ray: 30 seconds on high?

totally drive it increase that by -- until they are totally dry. you want to make sure they are dried out and in order for them to be dry it will be flat. this one was not dry enough. should have been a little more smooth on that. then when you do is spray this with an acrylic spray-painted that will dry clear. you can preserve these for a longer time. thanksgiving table. ray: oh, that will be great. why do we have the newspaper? rachel: put them on the newspaper and stacked them and leave them for one to two days. ray: how long ahead of time do i need to do this to let them dry? rachel: you want to do it about three days preparation time and then they will last throughout the season. ray: all right, great come that way you can have a nice thanksgiving table and say i did it myself.
