but here is a look at that drought map. and bad news here, because the severe drought has expanded all the way now in portions in northern new hampshire and mount washington valley and lakes region and good part of the upper valley. the drought holding on from concord parts south. that's where rainfall tallies are 30% to 11 inches below the norm. a little bit of rain has been moving through. a couple of isolated sprinkles. heaviest of the rain out to our west. so when will some of the heavy rain get in here if at all and how much could we see at the start of the weekend? shelley: the effects of our dry

working to figure out how to figure out with the problems and prevent them from getting worse. some of the state's leading authorities on agriculture and climate gathered in concord today to figure out how to handle the state's expanding drought. >> we are at 8 or 9. reporter: this map tells the disturbing story. w intensified in the south and expanded up north. the lack of water has caused hundreds of wells to fail. and so many people who call companies have to wait weeks. >> people are spending thousands of dollars if they have the money. if they don't, they have to make with offsite sources of water. reporter: they are asking communities to enact water bans.
