-- a local company left websites down across parts of the east coast. good afternoon, im erin fehlau. the manchester based company dyn took about two hours to get things back up and running. wmur's kristen carosa is live in manchester with the latest. reporter: staff here say things are back up and running around 9:20 this morning. right now they are trying together as much information as they can to figure out what happened here. says its server infrastructure was hit by a ddos cyber attack, which stands for distributed denial of service which disrupted their systems. dyn is a donating best domain name system provider and hosts twitter in spotify, which also experienced problems this morning because of the attack. the executive vice president says they worked quickly to resolve the issue this morning, and things are back up and

troopers say his blood alcohol was twice the legal limit. he is set to be arraigned in court next month. a man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in massachusetts is being held without bail after facing a judge. police say the victim was walking to school yesterday morning when angel mateo grabbed the teen and brought the victim to a nearby apartment. police say mateo held the victim for more than two hours before letting her go. she walked tho her mom who alerted police. mateo was already on pre-trial probation and was wearing an ankle bracelet. two new hampshire men accused of blowing up a newspaper box in salem, massachusetts are due in court today. the august blast destroyed a box for the rainbow times, an lgbt newspaper. police say 23-year-old john richard of hollis and 20-year-old lawrence gilman of milford placed the device.

an organization more commonly associated with illegal drugs is turning it's attention to prescription drugs. national prescription drug take back day is being led by the dea. in six years more than six million pounds of drugs have been taken off the streets. this year as ray brewer reports the program in new hampshire is expanding. reporter: in april the dea collected over 12,000 pounds of prescription drugs. now they're hoping to get even more out of the medicine cabinets and off the streets. in the lobby of the hooksett police department there is a box for disposing of unwanted prescription drugs. saturday it will be one of many. >> last time we did it we had 83 locations. this time 103. reporter: for the 12th time the dea is partnering with local organizations. >> any drugs that are old or expired that will not be used if anybody has lost a loved one , that has unused medications we

reporter: the reason for devoting a special day to taking back legal drugs is simple but profound. >> we know that four out of five heroin users, fetanyl users start with prescription pills so we need to get those pills taken away. reporter: only pills or solid medications like patches will be accepted. no liquids or needles. the dea says that getting the pills disposed of properly can help prevent a future tragedy. >> we talk about children we know so many children are they're rifling through medicine , cabinets. reporter: the collection period runs from 10:00 in the morning until 2:00 in the afternoon. the drugs will be accepted with no questions asked, and if people are concerned about their privacy and information on the labels, police say don't worry. >> all unused medications that are disposed of here at the police department they are going to be sealed and disposed of safely so you don't have to worry about the security of your information on the prescriptions themselves. reporter: while they collect

hayley: here is a look at hampton. 64 degrees with lots of low clouds, fog, drizzle. even some heavier showers have been living through. that is the case of an conway. you can see the low clouds and fog. temperatures are a lot warmer in the northern part of the state at the moment. 67 degrees. winds out of the southeast at 14 miles per hour. there is what is happening in warner. much cooler. 59 degrees with calm winds. thankfully the fog has many of us were commuting into work this morning and it was very difficult to see with visibility's below a mile. that is still the case in rochester due to the fog, the low clouds, the drizzle coming through. be careful with this cloud cover and the low fog as we get into the afternoon. along with wet leaves on the roadways, that can make things slick and difficult for driving as you get into the afternoon. look at the temperature difference.

we have mid to upper 60's in the northern part of the state, while still in the mid-50's from laconia and a plaintiff. it depends on where you are right now. we had some rainfall that is keeping temperatures on the cooler side. you can see some scattered showers moving through. we had a batch about an hour ago from manchester, concord. now it's in the mount washington valley. there is more to come. even if there isn't rain on you now, there can be some fine mist and drizzle living through. right now. that is why temperatures are in the 50's and 60's. it might even be a little humidity in the air. all of that warmth and humidity is going to be gone soon. once the cold front moves through, which will happen in earnest, tomorrow the real cool air we will have seen all season will start to move in. in the meantime, scattered showers. they will be off and on. areas of drizzle possible overnight.
