police say a little over a week ago, a person came forward and told them that he had been assaulted by perreault about 20 years ago, while he was a boy scout in newfields and under the age of 13. perrault was a scoutmaster for the boyscouts of america for roughly a decade, ending in 2006, in borth newfields and epping. he was also the town health officer in newfields until yesterday, when he was removed from that position. >> it's not unusual for victims of sl forward right away. and in this case, it took approximately 20 years for that to happen. we're glad it did come forward at this time. and it's important to remember that others should come forward too. ray: perreault is free on cash bail this morning. he will be arraigned in december. we did reach him yesterday, but he declined to comment. the scout executive for the daniel webster council released a statement saying, in part, the

runs counter to everything for which the boy scouts of america stands. police say they are working with several potential victims in this case. reporting live in newfields, ray brewer, wmur news 9. sean: thanks. police say a car ended up in the exeter river in fremont while the driver was taking pictures of the foliage. officers say a woman stopped along red brook road yesterday morning, when her car suddenly rolled over an embankment and ended up in the water. rt of the car with her, and no one was hurt. a three-year-old girl was briefly trapped after a car ended up upside down in a swamp along the everett turnpike in nashua yesterday afternoon. firefighters say the driver was able to get out on her own, but couldn't free her daughter from her car seat. both were treated for minor injuries. firefighters say there were nearly several other crashes because drivers weren't moving

police say a woman had a blood alcohol content more than three times the legal limit when they pulled her over yesterday morning in pelham. 25-year-old meaghan carney faces several charges. and police say she was speeding and weaving all over the road in an area with a lot of kids waiting for the school bus. a box truck driver was cited after slamming into a state police cruiser on 293 in manchester. police say the trooper was responding to a crash just after hit his cruiser and three other cars. fortunately, no one was hurt. two weeks. that is all that is left before the polls open. and donald trump's campaign is now admitting that hillary clinton will likely win the key battleground state of pennsylvania. however, the republican nominee says he is winning the race for the white house, while clinton is turning some of her focus to helping democrats win seats in the house and senate. abc's angelica spanos reports.

kevin: temperatures around 40 at the seacoast. we have areas of light snow through cost county and the white mountains earlier this morning. another brisk day with wind out of the northwest. from there, changes with the next system arriving on thursday. those details ahead. sean: a litchfield woman is headed to north carolina today to work with victims of hurricane matthew. karen dudley is a red cross voluntee south are still living in shelters as they work to make repairs to their homes. dudley will help out as a community partnership manager. karen: one of the things that i am going to be focusing on is dealing with the donated materials. we get a lot of donated materials, and it's very difficult to deal with that -- making sure that people who need

is appropriate and it is ok to donate. sean: almost 6000 red cross volunteers from across the country, including several from new hampshire, have deployed to the south to help victims of hurricane matthew. meantime, the situation remains dire in haiti, where hundreds of people died. and the government says nearly 1.5 million people are in need of food assistance because of matthew. more than half of those need immediate help finding something to eat. in some areas, all of the crops were wiped out, at least half of the livestock was killed, and engines were washed away. a message that went out to sea more than five decades ago has returned back to new hamsphire with quite a story. a man vacationing in the turks and caicos found a coke bottle half buried in the sand, 1500 miles from new hampshire. clint buffington, a teacher from utah, says he broke the bottle open and unrolled a soggy note inside. he was able to read enough of

sean: a company in russia is now specializing in some rather unique military weapons. look at that. they are all inflatable, including rockets, tanks -- even aircraft. the company says from a distance it is hard to tell the difference between the fakes and the real thing, and the inflatable weapons are intended to be used as military decoys. however, the company will not disclose any of its clients. so you won't know. millions of americans will pay a lot more for health care premiums next year. the obama administration confirms that premiums for a mid-level plan solro healthcare.gov will go up by an average of 25% before subsidies. and consumers will have fewer options, because more than a quarter of providers have dropped. the next open enrollment session starts one week from today. doctors say it is important for infants to sleep in the same room as their parents -- just not in the same bed. according to a new report from the american academy of pediatrics, children should sleep in their parent's room for

a pretty awesome halloween costume next week. eight-year-old daniel is battling brain and spinal cancer and is confined to a wheelchair. but now his chair has been made into darth vader's tie fighter from "star wars," thanks to a non-profit group. you recognize it? kevin: this might be the greatest costume ever. several people also showed up dressed as other characters from "star wars," complete with lightsabers. volunteers spent about 200 hours making the special costume. which is just awesome. sean: it really you think that made his day? i think it did. that tie fighter was always better than the rest of them. kevin: says you. sean: coming up in the next half hour, the world series gets underway tonight, but if you want to attend a game, you better be prepared to shell out a lot of money. plus, a youth football team has been suspended from league play after using a player who was far

employee until monday. now, he's accused of sexual assault. >> we had a pretty courageous victim come forward approximately a week and a half ago. ray: police say that man claims he was victimized by perreault about twenty years ago, while he was a boy scout. at the time, authorities say, he was younger than 13 years old. >> it's not unusual for victims of sexual assault to not come forward right away. and in this case, it took approximately 20 years for that to happen. and we're glad it did come forward at this time. and it's important to remember that others should come forward too. ray: according to police, perreault was a scoutmaster for the boy scouts of america from the mid-1990's through 2006 in epping and newfields. police confirm perreault was also newfields' health officer. the town's website describes the role as providing information on environmental and public health issues. i did just speak with the

has been removed from his duties and responsibilities in that role. ray: perreault was released on cash bail, and is set to be arraigned in december. in a statement, the scout executive and ceo said, quote, "the behavior included in these allegations is abhorrent and runs counter to everything for which the boy scouts of america stands." we did speak with perreault, but he had no comment on the allegations against him. live in newfields, ray brewer, wmur news 9. sean: new on daybreak -- an investigation is underway in rochester after police say a woman found pills inside a vending machine. courtney jones says she put a quarter into a prize machine at the rochester house of pizza on friday, and this is what came out -- a plastic pod containing four pills. it was later determined that the pills are blood pressure medication. jones told the restaurant's manager about the incident, and the machine was removed by the vendor the following day.

police believe this was an isolated incident. a woman is expected to plead guilty today to charges in connection with a deadly crash that happened back in 2014. in allenstown police jordan , heath was driving on allenstown road when she ran a red light and hit a motorcyclist who had the right of way. the motorcyclist, 66-year-old michael phelps, was killed in the crash. heath was initially charged with negligent homicide, but her trial ended with a hung jury. today, she is expected to plead guilty to a lesser charge in investigators are expected to release more details today on the apparent death of a nashua teenager who police say was swept into a storm drain. authorities believe a body pulled from the merrimack river in massachusetts was that of 16-year-old jacob goulet. the city of nashua is now taking steps to make sure its storm drains are safer. crews are working to secure all sewer covers in the city with tamper-proof bolts and locks. aluminum covers will be replaced

and every month, crews will inspect all the city's nearly 9000 manhole and sewer covers. one iowa father says he wants to raise awareness about the dangers of unsecured manhole covers. in 2014, mark blake lost his 17-year-old son logan when he reached into an uncovered storm drain to retreive a frisbee. mark: it just doesn't need to happen in most situations. the particular drain that logan perished in had been there for so i think it happens a lot more than we understand it does. sean: the city of nashua is also asking the public to call the public works department or police if you see any sewer or manhole covers that look unsecured. in commitment 2016 news, donald trump's son will be hitting the campaign trail here in the granite state today. eric trump will visit a number of campaign offices and make stops at businesses across southern new hampshire. he will also attend a seacoast republicans rally in seabrook

concerts leading up to the election. that includes everyone from jay-z, katy perry, bon jovi, and j-lo. sean: overseas at least 59 , people were killed in pakistan overnight after gunmen attacked a police training center. most of the victims were cadets or trainees. officials say at least 117 others were wounded in the attack. they say many of the victims died when the gunmen detonated explosive vests. the ex-wife of disgraced subway pitchman jared fogle is now suing the sandwich chain. subway executives knew about fogle's pedophilia as early as 2004 and should have notified authorities. mclaughlin divorced fogle after he pleaded guilty last year to federal charges of child pornography and having sex with minors. katie: finding out that your husband and the father of your children is a child predator, and knowing that his job

mph, but a few higher gusts this afternoon, over 20 mph. probably not quite the gusts we have yesterday. a range anywhere from 38 in pittsburgh to as high as 50 in southern areas. there in mind the wind is going to make it will colder than that through the afternoon, if you are outdoors for any length of time. light snow continues to the evening tonight. a letter wind out of the northwest. clouds start to advance in thursday morning. the precipitation starts to move in later. the farther north you go, especially with the elevation differences, we could be talking rain mixing with snow at times. another quick moving system behind that could be here by the

highs will be in the 40's in and around the capital city and for most of the southern half of the state. a few upper 30's up north. notice the 40's still on the maps for the next couple of days. tomorrow, partial sunshine and a breeze. thursday, the afternoon up north could be a mixture of rain or snow depending on your elevation. it wraps up friday morning. could be an inch of rain fall out of that system. we are still totaling of the rainfall at this point. point into the weekend. a solid 75% of the weekend is looking good. sean: so keep the umbrella handy. a worker at the oregon humane society came up with a creative way to help a hairless hamster. the worker says she noticed that the hamster, named silky, was shivering in her cage. so she decided to crochet a tiny sweater for her. silky only wears the sweater for special occasions. it is incredible how this thing fits. they hamster will be available for adoption this week.

sean: right now, it is 6:55. updating our top stories -- a former boy scout master and newfields tomp child. here's ray brewer. ray: he was arrested yesterday, charged with full an is aggravated sexual assault. police say a man came forward and told them he had been assaulted when he was a boy in newfields under the age of 13. he was the town health officer in newfields until yesterday, when she was removed -- when he was removed from that position. police think there may be new victims. he had no comment yesterday.

underway in rochester after police say a woman found pills inside a prize vending machine at the rochester house of pizza. it was later determined that the pills are blood pressure medication. no other drugs were found, and police believe this was an isolated incident. a woman is expected to plead guilty today to charges in connection with a deadly crash. police say jordan heath ran a red light on allenstown road back in 2014, and slammed into a motorcycle, killing the rider. heath was initially charged with negligent homicide, but her trial ended with a hung jury, and she's now expected to plead kevin: for central and southern areas, it is a partly to mostly clear start. temperatures in the 30's to lower 40's. in the north country, a little bit of light snow. areas of light snow and flurries through the afternoon. the breeze still noticeable today and will be out there tomorrow, just not as gusty. looking at 40's through thursday.
