right now turnout continues to be strong as granite staters cast their ballots on election day. good afternoon. i'm sean mcdonald. erin: and i'm erin fehlau. thousands more are expected to show up throughout the evening. we'll have full coverage of that, and what's at stake in the election, in just a moment. but first, we have some breaking news in bedford, where police are investigating a bad car accident. aithorities say two men were hit while jogging and are in serious condition. wmur's naoko funayama is live with the latest details. naoko: it happened at around 7:00 this morning that right here on pembroke way. the joggers were coming up this side of the road, or coming down, and you can see that car there. police are in the process of contacting family members, so no names have been released just yet.

the driver of the car. the two joggers were taken to elliot hospital, where they are in serious condition. the bedford accident reconstruction team has been on the scene and is continuing to investigate the accident as we speak. >> preliminarily there may have been an issue on the windshield. that is under investigation. we want to remind everyone particularly at this time of the season that before you leave season that before you leave your driveway in the money, make so you can see clearly. we're not certain as to whether or not i was a factor but is being investigated. naoko: police say the injuries to the joggers are life-threatening and we will continue to update you on the story. police have closed this area of pembroke way between lancaster and campbell and they expect it to remain closed for the next

sean: all right, thanks. back to commitment 2016 coverage now. polls are open and busy. as we speak come thousands are heading out to cast their ballots. erin: while many locations are seeing fairly smooth sailing, others have had some issues. wmur's ray brewer joins us live in manchester with the latest. ray: if you are with us this morning you saw the lines stretch out the door. no waiting at all. but the moderators say things have been busy. about half of registered voters have cast ballots so far. in another ward in manchester they did have problems with their voting machine. >> we're not an early voting state. ray: however, across new hampshire the voters were up early. moderators were reporting long lines, and in some cases problems. at ward two in manchester, the ballot machine stopped working, forcing ballots to be placed in a cardboard box, and voters questioning the

i'm joined by jeremy from unh cooperative extension. jeremy has some great news for all of us who cut our own lawns and the fall, when comes to leaves. jeremy, you have got the honors. jeremy: leaves are those things you have to deal with some way or another. when i try to teach gardeners is they are a great resource and we want to make the most of them. gardeners of more beneficial ways. this is what we typically find. this is a valuable resource for your garden. great way to get organic matter into your garden. there are a few different things to do. ray: before we get to utilizing the leaves, i don't have to bag them anymore. when is it going to do for my
