when officers under the building they found 18 people inside as well as an 18 month old child. two guns were thrown out the window when they arrived. >> anytime we see firearms and narcotics together, that is alarming, because there is a level of violence any time that you have fire arms in which the dealer may be fearful of somebody stealing from him, another drug dealer or, are they preparing for a enforcement? ray: two people were hiding in the bedroom, prompting police to use tear gas. investigators seizing more than $3200 in cash along with four different drugs. the group had a very extensive set up an network for disturbing. the chief nick willard took care of the 18-month-old child himself until other family

driving again until passengers called police on the bus was stopped. no one was hurt, but police are looking into whether the driver was under the influence of prescription drugs. erin: police say they've found a possible meth lab during an investigation of a used car dealership. auto alley was swapping inspection stickers onto cars and selling the vehicles. but investigators say when they searched the business this week they also found chemicald right no charges have been filed but that could change. police do not know if meth was being sold or how many cars may have false inspection stickers. sean: a lot of granite stater's are receiving the property tax bills this week, and many are seeing some surprising news. all some communities have raised taxes, rates in derry, bedford, pelham and merrimack are going down by as much as 11%.

property values went up, so taxpayers will have to end up paying the same. the good news is their property is worth more. >> now that the bills are coming in, they are seeing the reality of the situation. in most cases there is almost no difference in the tax bills. >> we just moved to merrimack maybe a year ago. so, yeah, any drop in taxes is great. sean: taxpayers are getting a spreadsheet with the explain the new numbers. payments in that town are due in early december. so, some good news, bad news. erin: still ahead on daybreak this friday, special tribute to veterans. the movement one local school is hoping to start. sean: a high school student in texas says he got in trouble for not standing for the pledge. the unusual punishment she chose. erin: in your next half hour, how you can help provide some much-needed support for homeless veterans this weekend.

kevin: starting off your friday with temperatures in the 30's. a couple of showers moving in across northern areas as the front slides south through the day. winds, could have a couple of gusts over 35 miles an hour this afternoon. the colder air arrives in to start the weekend. those deals in the future -- those details in the futurecast ahead. sean: many communities have parades planned. erin: there are two state event starting at 9:00 in the halle fla -- the hall of flags, followed by a veterans ceremony at 11:00. and just in time for veterans day, there is a new tribute to service members at bishop brady

yesterday. dedicated toalumni of the school who served some gave their lives. several veterans whose names were on the wall were on hand for the ceremony. the idea of the project started three years ago and organizers hope that other schools will follow suit. sean: two bald giggles and florida grabbed national attention when they got stuck in the storm drain and appear that one was protecting the other. however, experts say the two bird were fighting in midair as part of a territorial dispute refusing to let the other go. a crowd gathered to watch this whole thing. animal experts worked out a rescue plan. eventually one eagle flew away in the other is being treated this morning for puncture wounds to her leg, chest and a cracked beak. a taste of nature. a high school student in texas says she was huddled for refusing to stand up for the pledge of allegiance at school. carrie douglas says her refusal as a protest against national politics.

morning with fair skies across the area. increasing clouds, couple of showers of north initially. we will continue to see the winds develop. by afternoon a lot of areas are going to see some gusts of 25-30 miles an hour. we can't rule out a few gusts over 35 miles an hour as the colder air starts to rush in. a couple of showers out there. a lot of this will continue to dry up as a head south. look for increasing clouds in southe into the afternoon. cold enough behind that front act of through southern parts of canada for this to be falling in the form of snow. he will likely see that chance in the white mountains and a great north woods later on this afternoon to refer the time being, it is warm enough for rain shower activity. a lot of this will be drying up as it had southeastward but you will have a few showers through white mountains and a great north woods and likely in the northern half of the state between now and 8:00 this morning. mid-30's to mid 40's early this

charges. five accused of selling drugs. early yesterday afternoon, police and the swat team went to a building on orange street to execute the search warrant. investigators say looking at the building for about three weeks, focusing on drug sales, including crank cocaine. erin: property tax rates in many larger communities in new hampshire going down by 11% in some cases but at the same time property values are going up. town leaders say taxpayers will still pay about the same. today is veterans day, and there are ceremonies and parades across the state. the ceremony at the hall at fla gs is at 9:00 followed by a ceremony at the cemetery at 11:00. sean: it could be a little chilly out there. coming up on daybreak this morning, what was your favorite toy growing up? there are three new additions to the toy hall of fame but some

>> no one covers new hampshire like we do. now wmur news 9 daybreak. sean: good morning, friday november 11. of course, this is veterans day. 46 degrees. a lot of events going on for veterans day today. it could be a little chilly, so bundle up. erin: we'll events throughout the morning but we want to get to our top stories. making news today, a drug bust in manchester landed several people behind bars. police say that raid followed an investigation into the sales of heroin and crack cocaine from an apartment building on or street. a nashua man is accused of impersonating an of the eye agent an attempt to get inside a couple's home in massachusetts. a driver is facing a slew of charges after he led deputies on a high-speed chase from maine to new hampshire.

auto fair. i'm deb davidson for 95.7 wzid. erin: five suspected drug dealers are facing charges this morning after being arrested during a raid in manchester. sean: police say it looks like they brought down a major drug house season things like cocaine, prescription pills and thousands of dollars in cash. ray brewer joins us live at the manchester police department to tell us how the raidol it was an investigation that started less than three weeks ago. police looking into the distribution of heroin and crack cocaine and they say several people inside that orange street apartment building were selling drugs. around one ce-- 1:30, members of the manchester swat team executed a search warrant at an

police taking extra precautions after learning that some people associated with the investigation had guns. >> we had a drug operation here with numerous apartment. part of their drug operation also included firearms. ray: two handgus were thrown from the apartment building. they also seized $3200 in cash, 3.6 grams of crack cocaine and perception pills. >> anytime we see firearms and narcotics together, that is alarming, because there is level of violence anytime that you have firearms in which the dealer may be fearful of somebody stealing from him, another drug dealer, or are they preparing for a raid from law enforcement. ray: authorities discovered that two people were trying to hide themselves in a bedroom. when they refuse to come out, officers tossed tear gas into the room. the two suspect emerged and were taken into custody without further incident.

suspected drug dealers had an extensive set of. >> drugs were in one location. individual selling from another location. other individuals were deployed to do surveillance in case they saw a law enforcement. ray: a small child was also taken from one of the apartments, cared fro by the chief himself until family members arrived. a total of nine people were arrested, six on drug-related charges, five accused of selling. the dea is warning granite stater's about a deadly new street drug. it's chemical name is u-4770, but it's often referred to by pink. the drug which is a form of fentanyl is linked to 46 deaths nationwide, including one in new hampshire. the dea sent out a notice placing the drug into a schedule

>> the problem right now is that there are a lot of different synthetic opal yards being introduced. we don't know necessarily what is in any of them because they are being produced in clandestine labs. so, you just don't know how they are going to react with each individual, interact with each other. and you do not really know what is in them anymore. erin: this is a new form of fentanyl within the last year. according to new hampshire's drug czar it has shown up and a drug sample tested at the state lab. sean: new on daybreak, franken police have arrested a pair of drug dealers. richard sargent and tosha sergeant are both accused of selling heroine. they are each being held on $20,000 bail pending their arraignments next week. new this morning, two men facing

breaking into the mara home center. justin daisy is also accused of burglarizing the maro home center as well as howe motors. during his arrest, daisy was found in possession of a stolen gun. he's set to be arraigned today. claremont police continue to investigate two other burglaries, one at the tea bird minimart and the other at the head start preschool. erin: a nashua mans arlington, massachusetts, say he impersonated in a the eye agent in an attempt to get into a couple's home. -- an fbi agent. he was wearing a black suit and a hat when he knocked on the couple store wednesday. he said he was looking for a fugitive and then asked to come inside and use the bathroom. the home owners refused and called 911. >> an officers located an illegal stun gun in his left front pocket. they discovered a loaded smith

erin: police say they also found him in possession of a knife, zip ties and rope. his attorney says his client had those items because he was planning on going camping. sean: a man from maine is accused of leading police on a high-speed chase that ended in wolfeboro. the chase started in maine when cher's deputies went to check on the bail status of 32-year-old andrew collins. -when collins saw the deputies he led before crossing into new hampshire. deputies laid down spike strips in wakefield with blew the tires out on collins vehicle. he eventually stopped on route 28 and wolfeboro were he was arrested. erin: a derry mother and her son who were the targets of racially explicit vandalism over the last few weeks got some unexpected support. the manchester motorcycle club organized a ride for easy -- they picked him up at school

his mom says the outpouring of support has been unbelievable. >> there's alot more love than hate. in the world. and in our community and well. so -- and he's got a lot of support. erin: so grateful for that. police say they are still investigating the vandalism but so far no arrest 78. -- have been made. sean: two town counselors and dairy are trying to help homeless vets. they are trying to fill this garage with winter clothing this coming weekend. donations can be dropped off at 11 village broke l-- brook lane from 11:00 until 2:00 p.m.. everything from boots and hats to gloves and socks.

unconscious. they say detectives are looking into the possibility that one of the adults rolled over onto the child. police are also investigating whether drugs may have played a role. there is no word on the condition of the 19-year-old woman or 23-year-old man who were found unconscious. the music world is mourning the loss of canadian singer leonard cohen. cohen's son says his father passed away peacefully yesterday at his h he was 82. cohen was known for his songs like " hallelujah." he toured as recently as last year and releasing a new album just last month. sean: people in maine will soon be able to use recreational marijuana. the final result of a referendum on tuesday's ballot announced yesterday. the votem was close, but in the end, maine voters approved

21 or older. residents will be allowed to cultivate, distribute and sell marijuana and marijuana products. the campaign that pushed for legalization said it hopes marijuana will be available in retail stores by 2018. voters in massachusetts, california and nevada also approved recreational pot. on our facebook page, we posted a poll asking if you think recreational marijuana should be legal in new hampshire. at last check, 78% 13% said no. 8% says they do not care and 2% said they need more information before making a decision. erin: sad news for people in north conway. a beloved frog has passed away. spunky was a popular fixture at the toy chest. the store's owner said he passed away yesterday at the age of 28. he says he was loved by people

forecast through autumn continue. the rain shower activity scattered about. this will continue to dry up. clear skies for southern areas giving way to just some clouds for the next couple hours. then the colder air starts to rush in later on this afternoon and that will set up a chilly start to the weekend with things starting to moderate sunday. a couple of showers early this morning. most of this is confined to the north country and the white mountains. can't rule out a anything we have seen in southeastern spots will be brief. from there, the front continuing to come through. cap matures off to the running start, 30's and 40's for most of the morning -- temperatures off to a running start. to the 50's in the afternoon. that will be with the wind, gusting over 30-35 miles an hour. so, high temperatures this afternoon are not going to necessarily feel exactly of these highs of, the lower range of the 50's through the afternoon.

the breeze started to gradually diminish. we will go from those gusts over 35 miles an hour later tonight to a 10-20 mile an hour breeze later on tonight after midnight. and that will be the breeze we hang onto for the day tomorrow. from there, good deal of sunshine, pretty much all the way through the weekend after a couple of snow showers up north later on this afternoon and this evening. it is sunshine with a few fairweather clouds, lows in the 20's to lower 30's. highs tomorrow in the 40's. then we moderate mid 40' 50's for highs during the day on sunday and could go all the way to the 50's and even lower 60's in a couple of southern spots on monday. that should be the warmest day of this next stretch. tomorrow will likely be the coldest day of the stretch. we will still be in the 50's. it will look like an increase in clouds on tuesday. he could have a couple of showers around an assistant offshore on wednesday. -- a system offshore on wednesday. when i do a forecast, delete seems to be the one i use most often.
