including three in the span of 24 hours and at least two people have died in the last week and a half. police think the heroin that is circulating is likely mixed with synthetic drugs including fentanyl. a portsmouth woman is accused of selling methadone to a rollinsford teacher who died from the drugs. bryant lausberg was found unresponsive in his dover home back in may and later died at the hospital. police now say that 38-year-old amy matton sold methadone to lausberg several times. she is being held without bail and could face up to life in prison. the red cross is helping a dozen people including ten children after a fire in concord, just days before thanksgiving. firefighters were called to thompson street around 2:00 yesterday afternoon after a tenant came home and found fire inside. crews were able to contain the fire to the kitchen of one apartment. no one was hurt but it will be a few days before then can return. right now police in hudson are looking for the man they say

knifepoint last night. officers say a man wearing a mask entered the store on lowell road around 7:45 and got away with some cash from the register. police in derry need your help identifying this man they say he broke into the gilbert hood middle school early yesterday morning. officers found a broken window after alarms started going off around 3:00. they searched the building for about an hour but didn't find anyone. however a man was seen on rv around inside. it is not clear what if anything he may have taken. a school bus driver in tennessee is now charged with vehicular homicide after crashing his bus in chattanooga yesterday. leaving at least five elementary students dead. 35-students were on board when the bus overturned and slammed into a tree. federal investigators will arrive today. abc's stephanie ramos is

out what sparked a fire that left a woman severely burned. the fire broke out last night at a multi-family building on pine street. when firefighters arrived. they say they found an injured woman inside the building. >> made it the third floor and they found one victim. with severe burns. the victim right now has been transported to the hospital with severe burns. sean: at this time, there is no word on the woman's condition. th the red cross says it is now assisting four families that were displaced. a one-year-old child is recovering this morning after being burned by scalding coffee. the incident happened last night at a home on cedar street. firefighters say hot coffee was spilled on the child. the toddler was taken to the hospital with burns on 18% of the child's body. an arrest warrant has been issued for a salem mom, whose apparent drug overdose was caught on camera at a dollar

we want to warn you the video we are about to show is hard to watch. it shows mandy mcgowen's young daughter frantically trying to wake her in a store aisle. mcgowen did not show up for a court hearing on child endangerment charges last week. her daughter is now in state custody. a portsmouth pet store is asking for your help in tracking down a stolen puppy. the little shop of pets says this two-pound, three-month-old chihuahua was stolen this week. the owner believes the $900 puppy was taken out of an open pen sometime sunday night or monday morning. right now the biggest concern is that the little chihuahua is not getting the specialized food it needs. >> we don't know what it's on, and what is happening. it could easily crash and turn into sick puppy. we just want to get the puppy back. we not going to prosecute. please return the puppy before something drastic happens. sean: the pet shop owner says

will try to sell the puppy online to an unsuspecting buyer. the dog is micro-chipped, so any trip to the vet would raise red flags. as the threat of a school bus driver strike continues to loom a federal court now says it will not step in to help at least not yet. the timberlane and hampstead school districts asked a judge to grant an injunction to stop a possible strike by first student drivers. following a hearing with a judge on friday night the school districts agreed to wait until another round of negotiations scheduled for today. strike. if it happens others drivers in the state say they may also walk off the job. the gates have been lifted in neighborhoods near the manchester walmart. this comes after months of heated debate and complaints from residents. last week, manchester aldermen were unanimous in their decision to lift all of the gates and restore two way traffic to president road and mack avenue. a new traffic pattern study is expected to be completed by the

as for the driver of the stolen car he was chasing, police say he got away. turning now to sports. the celtics played at the minnesota twins last night. minnesota had just four wins through their first 12 games of the season. karl-anthony towns is their star. here, he gets blocked by al horford, misses another layup, then tips it in. later in the first, isaiah thomas found horford in the corner for the three pointer to put the celtics up, 18-13. boston trailed in the fourth 19-0 run and ended up winning the game, 99-93. the celtics play at the nets tomorrow. patriots defensive tackle alan branch has been suspended for violating the league's drug policy. according to espn alan branch is being suspended for four games after he tested positive for marijuana. branch is appealing the suspension. he has played in all ten games for the patriots this season.
