office, the victim is identified as 63-year-old robert dishman. he did i the hospital suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. investigators say dishman was shot during some kind of incident on ams way around 11 : 00 yesterday morning. its unclear if that's dishman's home, but we spoke with the next door neighbor who says a man named bob lives at that address. he tells us he saw a heavy police presence there yesterday, and was surprised to hear someone was shot. >> that's just crazy. i don't know. i've heard him yelling a few times, but i don't know what it was about. i did not think much of it. siobhan: no arrests have been made at this point, but the ag's office says based on their investigation there does not appear to be an ongoing threat to the public. anyone with information is asked

siobhan lopez, wmur news 9. tom: we now know the name of the man shot and killed in manchester this morning. tonight the attorney general's office saying 51-year-old robert shatney died in his thorton street apartment. shatney died from a gunshot wound to the chest. and as wmur's andy hershberger tells us the victim's daughter , is now looking for answers. andy: authorities say the 911 call came in at about 12:30 tuesday morning for a report of shots fired at an apartment on thornton street in manchester. thornton street where they discovered a deceased adult male. he appeared to suffer a gunshot wound. that male was determined to be a resident of 231 thornton street. >> i kind of just wish it was a bad dream and i would wake up. sorry. andy: amanda shatney is the victim's oldest daughter. >> it's a horrible situation. my dad was a loving, caring guy, did favors for anybody.

andy: police were on the scene all day as news of what happened slowly spread through the neighborhood. >> i'm just surprised that we didn't hear anything. i think that's the most surprising thing. kind of scary too. >> i just can't believe it. this neighborhood is really pretty quiet. i mean sometimes there's issues over at that house. i'm shocked. i can't believe this. is in it's early stages and are asking everyone in the neighborhood to be vigilant, lock your doors, and report anything suspicious to police. >> i haven't figured out a way to handle it. my emotions right now are really numb. i'm waiting on some answers on who and what and why. andy: andy hershberger, wmur news 9. tom: two vermont men are going to prison after pleading guilty to drug charges in connection to a deadly overdose last year. prosecutors say daniel fogg was dealing the drug out of a

fogg sold some heroin to francis mayhle who then gave it to 23-year-old dakota kilburn who died from an overdose. today fogg pleaded guilty to selling heroin with death resulting and mayhle pleaded guilty to conspiracy to sell heroin and dispensing the drug with death resulting. shelley: switching gears to talk about the weather. a cold, rainy day in the granite state, even starting with north. live look tonight in meredith and hampton beach. temperatures are well above freezing. chief meteorologist mike haddad is here. mike: we are tracking more rain. beneficial rain as the ground is not frozen in southern new hampshire yet. good news for those traveling out and about. many parts of the lakes region and points south. that is right around freezing in

showers are falling onto a relatively solid surface. notice a of moisture gathering down to our south with system number two of the week ready to move in wednesday. not in the morning. we will be cloudy but rain-free and temperatures above freezing. here we go. from the cloud cover into some rain as we go through the afternoon stretch. could become quite heavy. we will take a look at how much more rain to expect when that system clears and the rest of the week in a few minutes. shelley: tonight, the owners of a laconia vape shop say they feel violated after someone broke in and stole dozens of items this morning. video footage shows the burglar going through the store and taking vaporizers. and now police trying to figure out who did it. wmur's mike cronin is in laconia with the details.

suspect tried to avoid detection but was caught on camera. >> i just can't believe that this could happen to a small business, to happen to us. mike: laconia police are investigating the burglary at great northern woods vape shop. just after 5:00 this morning an unwanted visitor could be seen on video surveillance clearing out a shelf. 40 vaporizers like these, as well as liquids and cash were stolen. altogether, store co-owner kaleb of merchandise. >> they were just playing with the cash register, trying to get the cash register open, went behind the desk and was rummaging through all our paperwork. mike: the burglar never broke through the front door instead , going under the building. >> so this is where they entered here through the bulkhead. mike: then through the basement the suspect entered the shop , through this door. >> this is where the wires were cut. mike: that took care of the

fish and game says the bird was found on bradley lake by a construction crew working in the area. loons are a threatened species in the state, and 65% of loon deaths are caused by humans. fish and game says this is a critical time to protect loons as they are also being threatened by climate change. shelley: the town of exeter is known for its holiday light display, but this year an unexpected problem is threatening to keep the the lights off. for more than three decades, this is the site that has attracted people from all the town's holiday display of lighted garlands hanging from polls, trees, even town hall. a deked-out christmas tree in the bandstand at the heart of it all. >> this is the 30 year celebration. it is our 100th anniversary of the bandstand. shelley: this year, electrical code issues could pull the plug on this annual tradition. electric company unitil installed new poles over the summer, changing the overall
