this morning the sweet treat without baking. the author of "let them eat cake" is here with a delicious dessert that doesn't require a hot oven. two stars today. you have it not heating up the kitchen. >> it's so hot in so many places you don't want the oven on. we are using the microwave. >> which is great. any challenges with that? we'll get to it in a second. you will mix dry ingredients and wet. >> correct. first mix the flour. >> put it in. >> first, flour, cocoa powder and espresso powder. add that not to make it coffee-like but to enrich the chocolatey flavor. >> okay.

>> whisk, whisk, whisk. >> okay. >> while you do i will add the eggs to sugar, vanilla, milk and salt. the reason i'm adding salt here is because usually you put it in the dry ingredients. you want to keep the salt intact. we'll put this through a sieve and salt fwran grains are big so it would sift out the salt. >> do this. >> tap, tap, tap until it's all the way through and then mix it gently so it doesn't explode. >> like id did earlier. >> exactly. >> what do you do now? >> now you have a batter. say this is the batter. >> say it's finished. >> sieve it again into a cup with a spout. >> so you don't get lumps. >> no lumps. the reason it's in a cup with a spout is we are putting it into a whipped cream dispenser. >> that makes it easier to get into the cups.

>> we'll pour it in, pretend this is batter. then charge it and shake, shake, shake. >> okay. >> this is one of the fun things. you get a waxed cup but you don't put nonstick spray on it because you want it to stick slightly. make sure you shook it enough. what this does is it aerates the batter. we didn't put in baking powder. put it in the microwave for 45 to 55 seconds. this is molecular gas tron my. >> you want to work it into our cooking segments. this is what it looks like. >> yep. >> should you not expect perfection? >> you want perfection, i know. it's lopsided and you hate that. some microwaves go wonky and sideways. that's okay. make sure you can tear it apart. out's a sponge cake.

taking a look at the headlines, more than 2 million pounds of turkey bacon are being recalled nationwide. kraft says the food may spoil before the best when used by dates. kraft has received reports of people getting sick. for a full list of the recalled turkey bacon products go to today.com. researchers in denmark say taking a low dose painkiller every day for five years may reduce the risk of colon cancer. the study found those who took one or two low dose aspirins for five years cut the risk by about 27%. it also found those who took nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories such as bieb fro finish for five

years cut the risk by 30% more or. there is a caution that people shouldn't take any medicine regularly without consulting their doctor. a new study is suggesting omega-3 supplements do nothing to prevent memory loss. researchers looked at more than 4,000 older adults over a five-year period and found they did nothing to slow down the cognitive decline. one researcher said while the supplements don't cut it, eating foods that are naturally high in omega 3s like salmon, flaxseed and walnuts are a better bet for overall brain health. amazon is expanding the prime now membership program to include beer, wine and hard liquor for the first time. the alcohol sales are offered only in the seattle area with no additional fee for two-hour delivery and $8 for one-hour delivery. amazon isn't saying how soon it could spread to other cities.

after six treartments, here are the sisters now. >> oh, my god, the train. >> reporter: jordan is engaged. she'll be the second in the trio to get married. >> just wow. >> it's a dress that i never thought i would ever get to wear. growing up with burns, i really stepped out of my comfort zone. it's amazing. >> reporter: more than 50,000 other burn survivors have benefitted in the years since the triplets shared their story. particularly in the military. >> in addition to cosmetic improvements for the military, functional improvement. how can i do my job, live my life day to day. >> reporter: dr. chad hibnor performed six treatments after a bomb left third degree burns on more than half of his body. his arm bends three degrees more than it did before. >> it allowed me to go from a recumbent trike to an upright bicycle. i was able to reach the handlebars. it changed a lot from what i do
