"today in new york's" katherine creag is there with what you need to know. good changes, kath. >> reporter: exactly right, it might mean climbing another floor to get to your bus. also for commuters, this might mean having to pay quite a bit more attention. there are going to be signs around here at the port authority showing the new gate assignments. the thing is for commuters, they tell us it might be easier for them, for others, it might not be. gates have been reassigned at the bus terminal. the third floor will be devoted entirely to new jersey transit. the goal is to decrease traffic jams around the port authority. traffic that normally clog the lincoln tunnel may ease traffic problems for drivers in the area. it might also mean people walking to their bus, they might have to head down from the

fourth floor or go up to the fourth floor. this affects tens of thousands of commuters. we go through the port authority on a typical weekday. as we mentioned, michael, signs are all around and the new gate assignments. >> and long island railroad riders, there are changes to your schedule today. new timetables take effect. there's an extra stop on the port jefferson line. some are changing due to construction work. but rail work on the extra service for new york islanders games, other events as islander games now at the barclays center. and police are search for a third vehicle in queens. it happened near exit 17 near howard beach. police say a motorcycle lost control and thrown. the woman was hit by two vehicles and died. police are looking for the driver of a white older model minivan that sped off.
