blew himself up in the attack along with ibrahim el bakraoui. nbc news is learning from u.s. intelligence officials the brussels and paris attacks were linked and according to a senior u.s. counter terrorism official the two el bakraoui brothers participated in both events. in paris they facilitated the attacks providing safe house to terrorists. here in belgium they became the suicide bombers. their co-conspirator in the paris attacks salah abdeslam wasn't told of the attack. he wants to leave for france as quickly as possible. the police are hunting for a number of suspects. there is real confusion about who they are, where they are, where they came from and who
