u.s. swimming superstar katie ledecky managed to keep her perfect record in tact winning gold defeating sjorstrum. the u.s. women's soccer team flirting with disaster. hope solo failing to stop two goals in their match against colombia. in tennis serena williams was the first time she will leave the olympics without a medal. bad night for serena but worth noting the u.s. women's soccer team still winning their group and will advance to quarter finals. taking a look at the medal count, u.s. remaining on top followed by china, japan and russia.

we were little. >> i remember like going to one of the tours and watching these two. >> they are so cute. i had the chance to sit with some of their parents. in the 8:00 hour we will get their reaction. you can imagine what that was like watching your kid doing so well. as we said a little earlier katie ledecky picked jenna bush hager caught up with her after that race. >> 200 meter gold. >> reporter: leading others in her race katie ledecky capturing second gold in the game, a race proved exhilarating and exhausting. >> it hurt a lot. i came close to throwing up.
