minutes as well. 4:32. we have breaking news overseas. at least three explosions rocked downtown jakarta, indonesia killing at least seven people. police say four of the dead are attackers. more than two hours of gun battles followed the blast. today's deadly attacks were not a complete surprise to authorities. last month they gave a warning about a credible threat. no one has taken responsibility sore if -- so far for the attacks. ? japan a strong earthquake struck just off one coast. it had a preliminary magnitude of 6.7, no tsunami warnings issued so far. breaking news from overnight in raleigh, police make an arrest in a stabbing. officers responded to a house on garner road around 11:15 last night. the victim is expected to be ok. investigators say the crime wasn't random.

new information is coming up about clean-up efforts at the danville river coal ash site. >> emma joins us live in the studio with a preview of what we can expect, emma? >> reporter: this tour comes a day after the environmental review commission got an update about clean-up efforts at the site. people who live in the area say they are still concerned about their drinking water. nearly two years after tens of thousands of coal ash spilled continues. recently some people living near the ash ponds received letters from the state health department warning them of elevated levels of pollutants in their well water. the state says the water is safe but environmental groups say they just want to see it all cleaned up. >>le we would like to see the agency do its job, stop playing politics and get the coal ash cleaned up.

center on actual innocence took the stand in her own defense. she's accused of violating the rules of professional conduct, about a year ago she helped free joseph sledge, the man who served nearly 40 years in prison for a double murder he did not commit. she's now accused of taking a water bottle from the home of a family member of another suspect in that same case and testing it for dna without having consent. >> the district attorney stressing the importance of identifying the true perpetrator. >> she's not allowed to continue her work? the world is going to be a worse place. >> in terms of a punishment she could be disbarred but attorneys who testified yesterday say what she did was reasonable. the case is expected to last through tomorrow. here we go again, republican presidential hopefuls will go toe-to-toe in their first debate of 2016. who made the list? who is planning to boycott? the mexican government intercepts a series of text

car ran a stop sign and hit the bus knocking the driver unconscious. 14-year-old cory lewis noticed the bus heading towards a ditch and he jumped in, hitting the brakes, and thanks to quick thinking no one was hurt. right now a woman in montana is in jail after police say they led her on a chase that ended outside our nbc affiliate keci studio. officers tried to pull the woman over for reckless driving, that is when she took off. she ended up stopping on the sidewalk next to the station. the driver bailed out and attempted to get into the building through the side door. the studio went on lockdown, officers finally arrested her, no one hurt there. right now more than 2,000 pounds of marijuana are off the streets thanks to officers in texas. do they look like carrots? the drugs were hidden in a shipment of what was supposed to be fresh carrots. when officers inspected though a trailer sunday agents discovered packaged drugs
