although i wouldn't mind talking about today how beautiful it was. and it's still pretty nice out there. 52 degrees right now. temperatures have fallen quickly after highs in the 60s. someone did write me yesterday. i think it was on facebook or whatever and said hey, i want to bring back those 60s. and i said i don't see it any time soon. little did i know, we went warmer than we thought today. we'd rather err on that side to give you a nice saturday. 53 in south hill virginia. 52 in raleigh. 55 in fayetteville. 53 in wilson. there's a little bit of moisture. a little pocket of energy coming across us at the same time this moisture makes it right over us. and it does look like that moisture will come our way. yesterday we were thinking hey, i don't know how much moisture is available. there's been a little better chance now that we'll definitely see some moisture over us tomorrow morning before it clears off to the east. so here's what you need to know, sunday's weather, 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., there will be some moisture around from that

6:17 pm
there will be a spell of precipitation. tonight we're going to increase the clouds and be cloudy over night. then we see a chance of precipitation. there's a slight chance, 30% chance at 6:00 a.m. but we'll peek it in the mid- morning hours. that's when we could see areas from raleigh north and westward, some snow. then it hits the ground where it's above freezing and then south and east, including raleigh, just rain. and at noontime, the rain moves east. so it'll be dry in the afternoon. one more time on the future cast. a little bit of rain, 7:00 a.m. and then you'll see this band pausing to 10:00 a.m. this is the area that could see some snow in the morning hours north and west of raleigh. everybody else gets just rain. and then as we head toward the 1:00 hour, it's just rain. and it's starting to pull away. then we'll get some sun in here. and then this arctic front is going to come through. and that's going to get us really cold for monday on martin luther king day.

6:19 pm
starting out as some snow. that looks like it could be a little more impressive. but it's still five days away. 42 degrees. and then we could get rid of that precipitation saturday morning. it'll be 45. so you know this is coming. forecasted 56. my bad. 61 was the high today. so unfortunately. duke home care and hospice will not get any money today. but we have 1 $1,200. >> at least it was a beautiful warm forecast. this afternoon we tagged along with volunteers in raleigh as they went door to door to give away and install smoke alarms. seven people die everyday in fires across the country according to the red cross. today volunteers hit the streets to cut that number. as volunteers also went over emergency plans with the people they met. it's part of the red cross campaign to reduce home fire deaths and injuries by 25% over a five-year period. >> it's important to me because it's such a small fix to the amount of people that are
