and cold front continue to work their way closer here. some of us are going to see rain and some of us are going to see snow mixing in with that rain. it is 38 in roxboro. it is 42 in fayetteville. flakes mixed with rain as this cold front moves through and this area of low pressure pushes off right here. we are looking at a dusting maybe on the grass hear. in spots northwest wet rain mixed around the try ankle and everywhere east and southeast of the triangle today. i'll let you know when the cold air arrives coming up in a few minutes. a teenager and a child were killed in a hit-and-run crash. four people were walking from this kangaroo express when some sort of suv went off of the road and hit them.

friends and family say good- bye to a local firefighter days after he responded. 24-year-old joshua woods was driving south when he crossed the center line and overcorrected and struck two trees. hundreds attended the funeral. in fact there were so many people some had to pay the respects from outside the church. firefighters and law enforcement officer were there as woods body left the church. those men and women surrounded the casket and gave a final salute. >> our hearts really go out to them. we hope it brings them some level of comfort. >> woods leaves behind a wife and two young sons. they were expecting another child in april.

triangle and points to the north and west as we head through the afternoon we actually dry out. our best chance for rain and snow will be between 8:00 a.m. and noon. clouds clear out and we have cold temperatures heading our week to start the week tomorrow. we are up to about 42 degrees for our high this afternoon. we have an area of low pressure pushing in from the southwest. we have a cold front coming in from the northwest. it is an arctic front. it has cold air with it. it is starting to push cold air into our area as well. we have moisture sitting offshore. these two kind of combining to for today. we have a chance of rain and snow showers in raleigh and points to the north and west and light rain heading further across as well. tomorrow.
