probably a little generous. it may be a few degrees colder where we were in north raleigh. when you head out, you want to make sure that you're dressed appropriately, hat, gloves, long coat and boots. these are not my most fashionable boots, you have to stay warm. and you have to make sure that your car is ready to go. in this cold weather, your car is one of the first things to go. and you want to make sure that you check the engine and the oil and the fluids. i'm not a car expert. i leave this to the experts. we talked with one yesterday and in addition to checking everything, you want to take a look at your tires, these cold temperatures can make your tire pressure deflate and that's when it makes driving dangerous. >> it is not going to handle as well if the tires are not inflated and the tire will not carry the weight of the vehicle

man was shot and robbed at an apartment complex. this happened around 9:30 last night on wisdom drive that is off highway 55. and the victim is at duke hospital but is expected to be okay. orange county deputies need your help to find the suspect of a deadly shooting. they found a man on the ground next to a car dead from multiple gunshot wound. they do not have a suspect and have not identified the man who was shot. he's hoping that neighbors near the scene saw or heard something that can give them a solid lead. >> folks are at home, take being time off from work -- taking time off from work with their families. and we hope that someone heard the gunshots as they were fired. >> and the shooting scene is near he having cheek elementary school. as a precaution, the sheriff will put deputies at the school today.

of wilson where the police are investigating a murder-suicide murder there. they found an elderly man and woman on chelsea drive on sunday. they found a man deed inside and the woman was taken to wake med where she died yesterday morning and they have released the pair's identity. the police in garner are asking people to keep their vehicles locked up. they are investigating several reports of people stealing from unmarked cars from overnight. right now problems for people in chatum county after a sinkhole shut down parts of listra road. and the sheriff's office said that the road will remain closed till all the repairs necessary are made. detours are in place. the wake county board of education will consider a proposal to move nine traditional schools in wake

and it is meant to help improve elementary schools that are not performing well academically. it beginned at 4:30 at the headquarters in cary. a pursuit that started on a chase had police running across the highway to catch the six pubs that were inside the car. the woman bare foot and smoke a cigarette exited the car letting some of the -- exiting the car letting some of the pups out. and the california highway patrol rounded up all the pups. and all of them are animal service. a doctor reportedly trucked a woman in a concrete bunker. but it is how he was caught that is surprising.

and some of you in the sand hills are in the low 20s. 21 in fayetteville. and you factor in a little breeze that is out there and a few of you have single digits windchills readings. 9 is what it feels like in roxboro and look at fayetteville, just to name a few areas. fayetteville feels like 11 degrees and layer up. you'll need it all to stay as warm as possible. we'll be in the teens at 8:00 and climbing to 28. high of only 33. so this is a few degrees colder than yesterday and barely above freezing. we're back to 26 by 6:00 p.m. this evening. so here's the setup for today. we have the high pressure and that means beautiful weather. and if you're inside looking out, you'll see plenty of sunshine this area of high pressure filtering in the north early breeze bringing us in the coldest air this season. but with the high pressure
