frigid temperatures as we prepare for another morning in the teens. good evening. >> thanks for joining us. there is a chance for snow in the forecast. the d.o.t. is brining bridges to get ready. >> reporter: the morning started at 18 degrees. we did not get above freezing. the high was 32. tomorrow will be a little warming. tomorrow will be a little colder. several of us in the teens, most mid-to low 20s.

we will not have a windchill. this morning was 10 degrees. i will not split too many hairs. the exciting part will be snow in illinois. this snow will be on top of us tomorrow evening. not as much as what they are getting but a little light snow is possible. first the morning commute will have a few extra clouds. it will be dry. temperatures 16 degrees. up to 17 at 8:00 a.m. we will get above freezing in the afternoon. between 4:00 and 9:00 light snow and flurries from the triangle will be falling.

light snow possible and snow flurries. it will create problems. the roads are cold. the first make of snow will not hit the ground and melt. it will stick. maybe a dusting. it might cause problems. there's the snow. it will check across the next couple of states. a lot of it will dissipate. at 7:00 a.m. we are dry, cold, a few thin clouds. here we are at lunch. there is the snow at illinois. after it hits the mountains it will fall apart. as that moisture drys up it will fall apart. it will have a tough time falling in the sand hill.

the overnight hours the clouds leap. thursday we clear out. friday and saturday are interesting. between 4:00 and 9:00 we will see the light snow. i will call it a minor event on the roads because of the population and the fact the first flake will stick. we are going to school. be careful on the way home. then we get into friday. it will be a classic weather system. pretty much right over or area, this is from a warmer climate, the more likely scenario is a cold rain event. we are always on the line. we have cold air from the north and the rain and air. some of it could turn to a winter mix. you know when the hurricane

we can do it with winter weather systems. i will show you early models. with the hurricane tracks, we dont look at one model. we look at clusters. here we are wednesday, thursday, we think this will be friday and saturday. there is one model putting us over 3 inches, one an inch and a half. that tells us there is a lot of uncertainty with the system. we know it with winter storms. with the national weather service it is a crazy looking map. there is washington d.c. this map is showing us the probability of 2 inches or more of snow. it is way up here in virginia. that's a bull's eye of 100 percent. look where we are. less than 5 percent. the snow might not be the problem for us.

the cold rain. we have light snow tomorrow night. the friday storm could have bigger impact, heavy rain. a winter mix friday morning and snow as it wraps up saturday morning. in between cold rain. that's what we are thinking. in the meantime a dry day tomorrow, it will be cold. we are in the teens. we get above freezing. there is the calm, dry day in the 40s. we are back in the 30s friday. as most of us see precipitation and cold rain. it could cause problems. y think by tomorrow night we will think of exact totals. by lunch saturday this wraps up. we have sunshine and 40s on sunday. dry weather for the panthers game in charlotte.
