you head back to the west and to the mountains, and we're dealing with a few cloud covers. that is all across the state this morning. and it will be a fairly quiet forecast today and things will change tomorrow. and we're still above freezing in durham and raleigh. so we're not necessarily look at widespread threat for black ice. sanford at 27 degrees and icy degrees in person, 32, sand hills and fayetteville 37. 8:00 temperature around 36. we'll be at 52 at lunchtime. i would take that as an afternoon high. it gets warmer this afternoon. 58 later today back into the 30s for the drive home around 6:00 p.m. i'll get more to your forecast in a little bit.

early on this tuesday morning. a lot of your main roads color codes. this is -- roads or closed. this is between brown ponds road and buffalo road, you may want to find an alternate. it was closed yesterday as well. we'll keep you update on the closure and any updates that pop up. 4:32. the winter weather may have hit days ago but the effects are hanging around in parts of our viewing area. >> and icy roads means that some school systems are canceled or delayed. emma wright has been riding around for the last couple of days. how are things looking? >> reporter: looking much better today than in day's past. but we have a few neighborhoods that have patchy areas of black ice. nothing too serious.

here off six forks road and there's a good bit of snow and black ice in the middle of it. and we're driving up a little bit of hill that can make for some slipping and sliding. this is not anything that is going to back up traffic significantly but a little hassle if you live in the area. we'll show you the video of the area when many of the schools yesterday. wake county is on a three our delake. wake county said that the three hour delay said they'll start schools three hours later. the day is going to end at the same time and they say after school activities will go on as normal. and we talked with parents and they say they don't have to get out in drive in dangerous conditions.

we basically had to wait to the ice melted. i didn't move the car till yesterday and i didn't go that far. coming out from my subdivision to the other road was icy. >> reporter: and we're giving you another live look at one of those messy subdivisions. one of the reasons that wake county decided to have a delay is to give this a few hours to melt. and they'll continue to monitor the roads and let us know if there are any updates. emma wright, wncn news. durham public schools closed because of roads like these. ice are covering the streets and parking lots. so winter weather strikes, you can get the latest conditions to go on your news app.

a fire that forced 17 people out of their apartments in garnish next firefighters responded to the complex last night and it damaged one apartment and smoke and water damaged another 7 units. two people had to jump to escape the fire and they were taken to the hospital. breaking news to get to out of harnett county. the 911 center is having a trouble getting calls from cell phones. this is the number to if you're having trouble. they are working to fix the problem and we don't know when the problem will be fixed. an investigation is underway after a dog attack in robertson county killed a 7- year-old boy. you may find some of the details disturbing. they were playing in a field behind their thome in lumberton and three dogs came reasoning after them.
