month for both sides to agree on 12 jurors. in just a few hours they will hear opening arguments. nearly 3 years after she was found murdered in her north hills apartment the man accused of killing jones willing before a jury. police say the 23-year old murdered the mom of two in her own bed. police say jones had recently moved to raleigh with her daughter from tennessee. on the morning of may 14th, 2013, the then 8-year old girl left the apartment, approached a a construction crew. they followed her back and found jones's body laying in bed covered in blood. >> it was really surprising. i mean, you don't hear about crime so close to home. >> police say smith had help from two people, while one pleaded guilty to first degree murder in 2015 and may testify again smith.

fayetteville, good morning, you're right around 54 degrees. so i'm showing you outside on our satellite radar you can see pretty cloudy skies around raleigh back to our west as well. even more cloud cover as we look towards central portions of kentucky. today we'll be socked in with hose clouds. right on through about 5:00 this evening partly to mostly cloudy skies. then overnight tonight the clouds stick around for us. i still think we'll be dry. now, it's tomorrow that i'm watching closely as a cold front comes through late in the day. it's going to bring us a good chance for rain starting around lunchtime. keep in mind i'm tracking the potential for heavy rain, gusty winds, can't rule out a few isolated storms, 6 p.m. looks like a pretty distinct line of showers and storms moving across the area. now, speaking of the threat for
