6:15 pm
than it was 24 hours ago, 7 degrees colder right now in raleigh than it was last night. and as i said, with clear skies the sun going down, winds calming down, cold front came through two nights ago perfect recipe for us to go to the 20s. so as we take you hour by hour that means 37 at 8, 34 at #10shgs we're right around 30 overnight and if you have to be up for anything early tomorrow morning don't. it's going to be 26 degrees. and keep in mind most of this week it was in the 40s and 50s. so i know it's been colder, but it's going to be a shock because it's been a while since it's been that cold. >> here's what's going on right now, a whole lot of nothing. all that mess of weather we had the last few days is gone and now high pressure is going to build in and it's building in from the north and it's going to bring some colder air with it keeping skies clear tonight but also helping out with some sunshine tomorrow. i like thomas the pick day of the weekend, yes, it will start cold
6:16 pm
about 50 degrees. remember that's going to leave us and we've got an area of low pressure that's going to slide in from the south, rain chances small and it's mostly rain, but like this morning, there could be a few flakes of snow mixing in with the rain. more on that in a second. that area of low pressure is out of here on monday. then we've got another cold front coming through. we're going to keep clouds and rain in the forecast and this gives us a reinforcement of cold air by the middle of next week. so it cold now. it's going to stay cold and get even colder by next week, but let's back up a little bit and talk more about sunday. so we're going to pick it up saturday night after a a great sunny day, you're going to notice a few clouds coming in from the south. there's some rain and like usual around here coming up from the south sometimes runs into colder air and you can see it's a long shot
6:17 pm
early sunday morning as we have a little bit of light rain we could also see a few wet snowflakes. otherwise then we warm up later in the day and everything falling mainly east of the triangle will be rain. so not everyone's going to get rain but some of us could see a few snowflakes mix in with rain, no accumulation or travel issues but it is going to be chilly. >> tomorrow morning as we go through the weekend you can see we start off in the 20s and most of the day will be sunny it will be spent in the 40s. then we bring in the had clouds on sunday, and sure we might start in the 30s, but again, most of the day sunday will be spent in the 40s. so your friday edition of the 7-day forecast we'll keep highs around 50 both days this weekend but two complete different days so sunny and dry saturday and cloudy with a little bit of rain on sunday, stays cool with some rain on monday same deal on tuesday but
6:18 pm
