we have another winter storm monday and tuesday. but in addition to being friday, the wintry mess we have has now cleared the area. and we have lots of sun this weekend but temperatures may not get above freezing for us. we have upper 20s and low 30s. these will be our highs. so you can imagine how cold it is going to get tonight. it is going to be breezy, and we will slowly fall through tonight and 24 tomorrow morning will feel like 14. no precipitation this weekend and as soon as we get through midnight monday morning, we could see another inch of snow and ice and possibly resulting

closing. i'll talk about how cold it's going to get in a few minutes. meteorologist bill ray is in the mobile news tracker keeping an eye on the roads. >> reporter: we're going west on 440, you can see that the -- it's hard to see but i can see still where the treatment was laid yesterday, so even though we had a little bit of snow flurry. the belt line has been dry, so the triangle is in great shape. and as we ahead west as we come across the bridge here, i can see breaks in the clouds and a nice orange sunset to tell you that things will going to clear out. where the precipitation did stick a little bit it was well

and about in the triangle tonight roadways are dry, but it is going to get very very cold. i'm meteorologist bill ray. wn cn has found out that some schools dismissed early. >> reporter: do you think it was a good call to make today or should it have been made last night? >> i think it should have been last night because it could have started snowing at any time and people could have got stuck at school. >> they should have called it last night. >> i think it was good because they should not be out here in this snow in the bad weather, so that's a good thing. activities were canceled in durham county.

school tells wncn cuts are to fill a $50 million budget gap. 100 current central services positions will be cut. this woman says she doesn't think the cuts can be avoided and will begin july 1st. police say a man in his 40s was shot in the leg and is expected to be okay. the call came in from cricket ridge drive as a home invasion. they tell us the house is known as a drug house and the victim is not cooperatorring. the jury was the last day of testimony that was meant to leave a strong impression on the jury. >> reporter: they saved the medical examiner as the final witness and her graphic testimony was the last thing jurors heard before both sides rested.

the injuries that led to her death. >> reporter: testifying that melissa huggens jones had 18 different injuries including a dozen alone around her head and neck. using diagrams and autopsy photos she testified the wounds were made consistent with a knife and first and that she died from trauma. >> reporter: family members found it difficult to listen to and her mom kept her head down while clutching a tissue. >> is she conscious of what's going on to her? >> she would have been, yes. >> reporter: with that, the prosecution rested and the defense said it would offer no

stand. when the jury returns to the courtroom the first thing they will hear are closing arguments beforehanding the case over to them before deliberations. in 2015 -- renay redden is charged as the getaway driver. she has not yet accepted a deal or gone to trial. take a good look at your screen, police say this man robbed the citizen bank, please call police if you have any identify of the man. 55 year old josi dominguez was shot on monday morning and friends tell us he was robbed and killed over $13. >> reporter: working alone and often at night alex momuney

he has heard of several taxi drivers killed while on the job. >> he lost his life. he had a family. >> reporter: he was shot and killed while on duty. friends believe he was robbed. >> it's made many taxi drivers a little more conscious of where they go to make pickups or when they go. they have stopped carrying cash or customers who give vague instructions. >> reporter: they are working to improve safety procedures within the company he worked for. safety measures that include security cameras as well as as bulletproof barriers. >> reporter: some companies such as taxi taxi have cameras

a big crowd expected the big thing this weekend is the hurricane's 2005-2006 stanley cup weekend. on sunday it will all end with an alumni game. they will divide the players up into two teams. some fans that paid big big money to be a part of the game on sunday. that should be a very interesting fun game. we caught up with greg adams on the red carpet and he was a winger, a enter integral part of the run. >> we found out about it in the fall and the guys have been communicated and obviously looking forward to it and happy to be down and get to see even. those are the times that you don't forget, so it will be fun to talk about old times and kind of relive the glory days.

went on to win a stanley cup title with the pittsburgh penguins. in other news roy williams he would his annual press conference. on tuesday night he had a spell of vertigo on the carolina bench, you can see him collapse, he would be helped off the court and watched the rest of the game from the locker room, was sending text messages on how the tar heels were going that night. a very scary moment for him. he talked about that situation and what happened to him. >> i started to slap the chair and then all of the sudden i was saying justin, joe how did i get down here, that kind of thing, but it was

it ain't going to be warm. tomorrow starting off at 23, only get up to 44. 14 sunday morning only topping out at 32. it all temperature forecast this weekend because we have sunshine and no precipitation. a little different than today, right? moved in about 9:00 a.m. and by five or 6:00 aren't starting to clear you can see a little -- and starting to clear. it's currently 31-degrees and we're going to continue to drop tonight. hour-by-hour we'll get rid of the clouds and eventually completely clear. any temperature you see on a thermometer it's going to feel colder than that. slowly through the upper 20 to tonight then as he up we add in windchill. 23 will feel like 14 tomorrow morning.

when i see temperatures this cold this long, number one, we don't have to grow grass, because grass doesn't grow in this; number two, all the bugs are gone, other than that, i can't think of anything else. high pressure is coming all the way from canada is going to settle in on top of us. we're going to do this all over again on monday with rain, sleet and snow. from midnight monday morning until about mid afternoon, maybe late afternoon, we're going to have a chance of some snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain, could accumulate to about an inch of snow may be a tenth inch of ice and this is going to be another moderate event for us because of the impacts on area roads. remember, it's going to be really cold this weekend. i think this could all result in schedule changes on monday. so you're going to want to pay attention to the forecast.

covered saturday and sunday. as i mentioned not a whole a lot of weather to talk about this weekend outside of temperatures, but as we get into late sunday you will see clouds will start to move in. then i'm going to stop it at midnight. sunday night, early monday morning, you can see a little bit of snow starting to move in and then we're going to add to it and continue by the monday morning rush hour, snow and a wintry mix. that will stick around through lunchtime before rain finally starts to spread and push the frozen mess to the north on monday afternoon, but then the rain is going to continue through tuesday. so, monday morning all the way through tuesday night. it's going to start off as snow, turn to a mix, we could see up to an inch of snow. just a tenth of an inch of ice. or anything. monday afternoon through tuesday, we could see 1-2

coming our way monday and tuesday. this weekend a lot of sunshine with cold temperatures starting off in the 20s only getting into the 30s saturday and of course sunday is valentines day starting in the teens and should be dry with temperatures topping out in the 30s. your 7 day forecast will keep us in the 30s both days this weekend still in the 30s monday as we have this wintry mess, then warm up tuesday but it's going to be really wet then finally dry and warmer wednesday, thursday and friday. 34 today, we only topped out at 32. we had forecast 35 we were just barely in there. along with our friends and al and kelley, we bring a monthly total to $1,000. they train some 12 machine people a year in cpr with the american heart association. >> that's important to know. thanks, wes.
