for all of us at nbc news, good right now at 11:00 clear roads and skies. here's a live looking at drive in raleigh where the bitter cold is moving in i'm sean maroney. >> i'm sharon tazewell. light snow here and a dursting out east but snow not our concern it's bone chilling cold temperatures.

hohenstein watching. temperatures and another system monday starts us off with the very latest. >> today was part one of 3 t. it wasn't a lot of snow. it moved in at 9:00 a.m. and now out of here and radar will stay dry through the entire weekend burt temperatures we will focus on. this is kind of part two of the three part weather weekend. so part two is cold temperatures where it's 30 right now, you see these teens up to the north? you know a lot of times i can show this and say don't were those aren't coming here. but actually this time teens are coming here. sunday morning. that will be the coldest time we've had all season and by the way up in chicago, their high tomorrow will be fur teen which is going to be our morning temperature on sunday. so it could always be worse and colder. tomorrow windchill of 14. by lunchtime we're sunny but 30 degrees. will feel like 20. one other problems it's windy.

of the 20s as highs will be in the 30s. then monday morning, another inch of snow possibly a tenth inch of ice. could create some slick spots on roads and once again lead- some changes in schools and businesses. we'll have mr. on the timing of this all in just a few minutes. the slick roads blamed on a tragic deaths of two high schoolers. the football stars from west craven high school were killed in a crash near the border. it was one of several crashes blamed on snow and sleet. a rare sight along the outer banks, snow. the area still recovering from a nor'easter that blew through. schools in deer county closed early to get people off the roads. the roads here spared for the most part. >> with the falling temperatures there's concern

are looking for a new home after a fire. it happened on west front street this evening. investigators don't know what caused it but may have started in the kitchen. durham police releasing a final draft of the body camera policy. but what's in isn't sittingary well with anyone. there's a provision that allows anyone that has a complaint to see the video but not copy it. videos that show use of force should be made public. at least two council members say they will vet against funding the cameras. mound's council meeting. right now police in raleigh are searching for suspects involved in shiiteing it happened on cricket ridge drive around 4:20 this afternoon. the suspects forced their way in and shot a man in his 40s in the leg. police say the home is a known drug house and the victim who is expected to be okay is not cooperate.

is closed as part of a punishment. he's not here lost the alcohol license for 21 days beginning today. its facebook page says it will reopen march 4th. they agreed to pay a $5000 fine to avoid a 30 day suspension. now, the suspense comes avs a deadly dwi crash last summer. investigators say he's not here and another bar served chandler cane yeah. he got behind the wheel and killed three people including a child back in november or rather back in november the other bar was given a 14 day suspension and $5000 fine. the death of a raleigh taxi driver is highlighting the dangers of the job and raising concerns. 55-year-old jose dominguez was shot and killed while on duty. his friend say they believe he was robbed and killed over $13.

carolina. state lawmakers a monday they will hold a public hearing on monday to discuss the redrawing of congressional districts. three federal judges ruled that our lawmakers used races a factor. one includes a wide area of wilson and durham. state lawmakers announced they will hold the hearing. but the lawmakers are concerned about the potential impact to the march 15 primary. >> you're talking about 730,000 people in each district so as you change lines that's going to push lines here and there. >> state lawmakers are asking the u.s. supreme kurt to grant a delay in the case lawmakers may still call a special succession next week. the family of a north carolina woman mauled to death by her dog is sharing her story. susan story's family says she just adopted the pit bull two weeks ago.

night when another winter weather system heads our way. >> but this weekend, hardly any clouds, no precipitation, but plenty of cold temperatures. and tomorrow morning start at 23. the wind's going to be a problem. so cold temperatures you 3 in some wind, and morning windchills in the teens. even by lunchtime, 30 is only going to feel like 20 and a windy afternoon with a high of 34 under sunny skies but only going to feel like 22. this is all cold but not historic. these are the four coldest temperatures in records in the raleigh area since 1887. also the only four times we've been below zero. nine back in 1985 was our coldest ever in january. and it just so happens that in 1899 minus 2 happened on february 14th which is this sunday. so just remember the cold you're feeling sunday morning isn't even close to a reported.

so let's talk about this next round of precipitation. pick up the weather map at 7:00 a.m. teens with sunny skies. notice throughout the day thin fair weather clouds start to mover in. >> you see snow out in the mountains. sunday night we're still dry but very late on sunday night, as we get into the early morning hours, here we are the -- here we are at midnight. for your morning commute we'll have some snow and sleet falling across our area. that's monday morning's commute. here we are at 7:00 a.m. the trends tonight have been for this warmer rain to start to push the frozen precipitation out of here by lunchtime. but then the problem becomes it's going to continue to rain the rest of monday, and most of the day tuesday. so here's our scrap dated timeline. s we start monday morning go all the way through tuesday night. starts automotive as snow. small amounts little bigger than today. >> nothing like what we saw in

wraps up shortly after lunchtime. small accumulations, very small of freezing rain and sleet. then the rain takes over. and goes all wait until tuesday night. could see 1-2 inches. looking bag at this by late next week the rain will probably accumulate more and be the bigger event but as, you know, the snow is always a big deal around here. >> and i think it could be a big deal for us on monday morning. tomorrow morning in the 20s. plenty of sunshine. and again, that's the warmer day. temperatures don't get out the mid- to low 30s. teens on sunday morning. we increase the clouds but keep it dry as once, again, for valentine's day we are stuck in the 30s. so your 7-day forecast, two more 30s this weekend and another one next week so that's four in a row. of course, sunday says valentine's day. monday a holiday, president's day. we have the wintry mix turning to rain. then we've got some 50s on tuesday. with rain. and then 50s most of next week u. auto will say, again, i
