of video that we have of that we took in this general area. it's the back roads right now that's the problem here in orange county. in fact, i came traveling around just two or three miles away from here and it was a little scary to be honest at times. you notice every little hill and i slid a little bit, it's a solid sheet of ice on these back roads that i was driving this morning. so a much different story than what we're seeing back live out here at the interstate where travel seems to be moving along just fine but we will continue to update you as the morning continues. for now we're live in orange county, justin quesinberry wncn news now. >> thanks. of course we are keeping a close eye on the roads during this round of winter weather. >> emma wright is riding around wake county. what are you seeing out there right now?

we're dealing with snow and ice across the area through this morning where the surface is going to be below freezing until after lunchtime but we're seeing warm air move in that changes the snow so the sleet and freezing rain. so the deeper the layer of warm air above the surface the better chance we have of seeing that freezing rain. as far as timing goes and the precipitation the best chance for snow, freezing rain and sleet going to be this morning into earthly this afternoon before temperatures warm up to above freezing levels and looking the one to two inches of rain through tonight and during the early morning hours tomorrow. for a look at exactly how much snow and sleet and freezing rain you can expect let's turn things back over to alyssa. >> up to one inch possible around portions of wake county, these areas shaded in white just to our north, orange and durham counties one to three inches.
